Nobody thinks it's weird that people give a shit about a video game character's sexuality? It's just sexuality, for one ("lol I'm 12 and using the word sex!" comes to mind). Then, Overwatch isn't even a story-heavy game. It's kind of there, but I don't see a lot of reward for the effort it takes to get attached to the characters.

This entire thing just seems unquestioned and meme'd to me. I wish it wasn't even a matter to anyone. Seems like a silly thing to spend time following.

I was looking at the raw numbers of all the overwatch heroes and it was all relatively "balanced". Every single offense hero, sans Genji and Pharah, are able to do 200+ damage in roughly a second- even Sombra, if only the spread on her gun didn't make it impossible. Even D.Va, the highest damage tank next to roadhog (if Zarya didn't have charge), does about 96 DPS with all headshots, so a little over 2 seconds to actually take down a 200 hp hero at full health. So everyone's numbers checked out except for Roadhog.

So here's the question, If Roadhog couldn't oneshot his opponents, would that make him effectively useless? Like, if it took him 2 shots to kill 200 hp heroes instead of a single one (+ melee if some shots miss sometimes) and teammates would have to follow up on his hook, would that still make him warrant a pick? Or does he become completely and utterly useless and would never justify a pick in a comp?

I think Roadhog is useful exactly for the reason that he can get near-instant picks if needed. Helps with making up for some team comps that are too heavy on sustained damage. That's about the only case I pick him over D.Va.

Pretty sure placement is mainly based on personal performance. I've definitely seen people who lost most if not all of their placement matches get ranked 3000+

Is just me because I'm bad, or there are some 200 HP heroes that Roadhog can't hook-kill automatically because of their hitboxes? I've hooked a lot of Anas and Sombras, and they keep on managing to survive with a sliver of health. Sombra dies to the melee after the blast though, but a full health Ana usually survives and she'll nade herself back to a decent percentage of health.

Unfortunately, sustained damage is kind of impossible now to because of Ana. Not only does she have superior heals, she also has range. Even if Mercy could outheal Ana, she would still have to fly all around the battlefield to keep everyone at full health whereas Ana can snipe from a safe distance.

All the frag and chip damage from Genji, Pharah and Junkrat are worth crap now. There isn't a hero that can punish opponents for grouping up, and you can't wear down tanks from a distance either. Ana is so cancerous holy shit.
