I don't think you need a tracking enhancer, drop it for tank or something.

If you're trying to pvp with it, swap the AF for an MWD and add a scram and web, then just burn towards them and melt them with your autocannons. Dont go up against fast AB frigates or any frigate with an MWD. Also you will lose it.

If it's for pve you can keep the AB but it'll be kinda slow. Just shield tank it and fit either 2 gyros for more guns, or a gyro and damage control for more tank. For rigs you can either tank it harder or make it hit harder with shield or projectile weapon rigs. Even a shit fit thrasher will breeze through t1 missions up until the SoE arc final boss.

IF YOU FIT AN MWD, TURN IT OFF ONCE YOU'RE IN BRAWLING RANGE.

I was thinking of a cheap T1 destroyer build to try and get my toes wet again in noncorp PVP, but I don't know enough about the meta anymore.

depends what are you flying?

Frigs are better for solo since you can get into novices and shit

T1 destroyers just get shit on by everything since they can only go where basically everything else can go.

T2 frigs aren't even used, a T1 destroyer would eat the shit out of a T2 frig. T1 destroyers boast super high damage but really lack worthwhile tank and slots to help them perform well. Only certain T1 destroyers actually prevail purely because others are absolutely shit for any role development.

The thrasher is really good for all sorts of different stuff because you can fit it multiple different ways, shield or armor it doesn't matter. However ships like the coercer while boasting very long range are so fucking cap dependent that they're very lack luster in their performance purely because they don't last long. An algos is also a really good ship for drones, kiting or brawling it works really well. However a catalyst isn't so great because its so short range and can't do as much as a thrasher can in comparison.

The corax and talwar suffer from poor slots, and poor options, theres only one real way to fit a corax and it doesn't get very good tank, dps, or anything, same with a talwar. Their fitting is what gimps them the most and the fact that LML's take up so much fitting and perform so poorly they're pretty much unused in anything but fleets.

The cormorant is like a thrasher except its usually fit with rails because double range bonus. Blaster corms don't really compete because a blaster catalyst is better go figure

Stick with frigates, fit what ever frig you think is good then go out and lose how ever how many until you get the hang of it. Each frig can perform in someway comperable to other frigs however you should be keen to knowing what fights you can and can't take

Does hacking can in sleeper relic and data sites give mad loots or do people just clear the rats in there then move on?

Also is the reward for sleeper data sites worse than relic like pirate sites?

Eh, I'm not so sure about that. It's Highsec, you see; the rats are near worthless. Getting into a Battlecruiser (Hurricane if you go with gun skills, Drake for missiles) will get you closer to bullying lowsec/nullsec anomalies. But having a good corp/alliance behind you for making that ISK is always good.

This fit isn't any slower than the shield fit I linked earlier because it isn't using plates or armour rigs. It's cap stable, it does as much damage with the same application, it has a smaller sig and it reps more.

The fit has reps and a 100mn, it needs the capacitor control circuits and the medium cap battery to be stable. It has plenty of reps though so you could swap the nano plating for a flux coil and drop two of the capacitor control circuits for something else.
