Eh, I'm fine with it because a lot of the time 5 mana for a removal kills your tempo. Combining Siggy with a Deathmist Dragon means you don't have to swing things into something to kill something. The main problem with Siggy is that you kinda need a board to use him, but if you lack a board, DoD/Execution won't help you win that game.

I replace the standard removal cards with serpent wrath so I can deal with wards with high health, put in two serpent forces and use those on my trinity dragons so they become unkillable 6/6's sometimes, and put in dragon counsel. To do this I removed dragonewt princes and the other card in the netdeck which deals 1 damage for every discarded card. its a useless combo and gives you 6 free spaces for something better.

I was also stuck in AA1 for a while no matter what I played because I would keep bricking.

Right now I'm playing Ramp Dragon and skipping turn 5s and shit. Probably if I focused on 1 or 2 crafts it would be better, but as long as you're not deranking the winstreaks will come eventually.

it is though. Just because 1 guy specializes in playing DShift doesnt mean the class is in anyway strong. DShift has abyssmal winrates across all archetypes with the exception of Elana Haven, which is already outdated in favor of Seraph hybrids.

Blood has aggro bats, literally one of the reasons why people tech in Angelic Barrage aside from Forest, and a very respectable Blood Control deck archetype that does well in closed tournaments.

Meanwhile, Rune has 1 "real" deck which isn't remotely good in climbing ladders, and meme variants like Pascale Rune or PtP Rune.

Arena is the most balanced. gone 5-0 with all except blood and rune, but that's probably because I don't play blood and rune in arena.

Weapons are inherently bad design.
Multi-use burn that is incredibly uninteractive is just bad.
HP to use on minions doesn't help when a single weapon is almost always equivalent to at least 2 burn spells. They encourage mindless face and cause followers that could have been played to not be, just because "dies to win axe."
They are simply not fun.

Hero Powers choke out card design. Warlock gets bad cards because it has the god draw ability. They do not give it strong followers for the most part because can you imagine what would happen if something with good draw also had good followers? It'd make piratestone look like a joke in comparison. The Hero Power ultimately says "we cannot have cards that are too good in X,Y, or Z because the hero power is effectively an infinite-use card that could just break the game entirely. If rogue got a 3pp give your weapon +3atk, well I hope you enjoy rein of the SMOrc with those knives going face.

They are both terrible mechanics.

Doomhammer isn't actually a problem, it's all the other retarded cards shaman got that made it a problem.

And reminder that blizzard designed hero powers to compliment the class playstyles. They intended hunter to be a control class with a direct damage hero power that put the opponent on a timer, and warrior to be an aggro class with a defensive hero power that kept it alive while it went face. I really don't think it's possible to look at hearthstone and intuit that blizzard truly intended most of the shenanigans that happened to be purposeful game design, and doing so is putting too much stock in a group of paid monkeys.

Truesilver seems less awful because Paladin has been awful since secret died. That and paladin can't really mindlessly mash face.

True Silver is beyond ridiculous as well.
Think about it like this, it is essentially two burn spells for 4 dmg that also heal for two.
4dmg burn is about 3mp~
Heal for 2 is like 0.5mp

So it becomes the equivalent of 6mp of burn and 1mp of heal over two turns. So 7mp in total, with 3.5mp of value per turn. For 4mp. Not only do you get broken-ass value from it over time, you barely lose any tempo from playing it on curve.

And all weapons are like that.

Overstatted low drops is something blizzard has to stop. 2 drops are strong, but 1 drops are insane. As if tunnel trogg wasn't strong enough, small time buccaneer has effectively an easier activation condition with tribal synergy all for 1 mana. The problem is they can't make 1 health 1 drops that don't have a protective ability like stealth on worgen infiltrator, because of the presence of hero powers.

That said, any fast deck can just push enough damage to beat it if they don't have Crystalia Tia + Nature's Guidance or Will of the Forest, and dedicated control decks can just outvalue it lategame, but Forest remains a class that has minimal bad matchups, which makes it good.

Pirate warrior is shit. It's inconsistent, and only stands a chance of winning if it gets the literal god draws in its first 6 cards. Reynad had it listed as tier 1 the first week, a bunch of people in the threads called bullshit, and the next week it dropped to top tier 2. I was really worried about this, but I think I might actually be okay with it.
6mp requires 3 spellboosts to be on curve, which while not hard to do, and requires either insight->clarke to do on curve. 2/2 just isn't as scary without any sort of buff like banner, though you better bet I'll be salty as all get out when I eat a Daria into next turn 3 1pp 2/2 storms.

I think it might not be as absolutely ridiculously OP as I first worried rune might turn out.

I get your point, but also concider that HS is just a showcase of bad design riding off WoW.
Almost every other TCG that uses stuff like this (Hex and Duelyst) have them implemented better than Jewstone. hex just gives you hero power in smaller amount, while Duelyst makes it Cheaper, but less abuseable (for instance their "warlock" has good creatures, but drawing gives his enemy a card too, making him lowest-of-the-low tier untill this newest xpac where he got more ways to mill the enemy while drawing)

Also their items have 3 hits that are lost whenever the face takes damage, so most decks can deal with them easily without dedicated removal.
