Her CGs are some of the better ones. I'll be honest, not all uncensored CGs in Rance VI are going to look great, but generally they are much, much better than you'd expect from a game that was originally released in 2004.
And for the most part the CGs for the important bits look the best. Monster Commander CG is one of the worse ones, and even that looks better than some Da Capo 3 stuff.

...Interestingly, the uncensored art of 5D looks generally better than what VI has. It's actually great at points.

There were lots of technical problems and bugs to overcome. While I was playing through the game earlier today getting screenshots for the blog, I ran into some last-minute graphic-bugs that ended up being fixed.
If the game was entirely based on 2D elements, I imagine it wouldn't have been that bad, but there's quite bit going on with the dungeons. At one point the minimap was particularly broken, going all over the screen. Here's an early screenshot, back when we were still planning whether or not to do the upscale and hadn't added any of the higher-resolution art. I'll also post finalized version for comparison.

Anyway, what I liked...
The story is great. It starts very small-scale, but steadily grows into very epic adventure. It's also not all success, there's some good downer parts that make the good bits feel all the more better. And even more so than in Sengoku, Rance feels like real idiot at points of VI, there's lots of points where he doesn't make the smart choice. I really liked being able to go NO NO NO NO at some of his shit.
The characters in general are fantastic, while there are twists, nobody acts in a way that'd feel off... if that makes sense. Save for the initial Ice Flame recruits, pretty much everybody sticks along through the story, and gets several chances to shine, both in missions that focus on them, and in main-story.

And for the gameplay goes, I'm not really big on dungeon crawlers usually. In eroge particular the playing fields feel very flat, or tend to have lots of obnoxious puzzles like teleportation. Rance VI has really good dungeons, with lots of floors within same area(and not just locked behind load screens like in Bunny Black), overlaying areas, traps that can be avoided if you pay attention and some pretty decent puzzles.
The battles aren't anything special, but that's not really a detriment, the format would work in regular oldschool JRPG. I just feel they're not highlight of the gameplay.

...the CGs are, at least. Honestly, I'm not fan of the sex-scenes where Rance is overly mean during sex, but that's just personal preference. Kaoru's, Megadeath's and Kaloria's scenes were more to my liking.

Anyway, for things that ended up looking surprisingly good, the Zeth Beauty Booklet is of particular note. The redone text along with higher resolution art pieces really did these images wonders.

Also I just realized why Kou looks so much younger than Kazemaru: The artstyle deliberately made Kaz look older. Kou did still look younger in SR but the art on that chart is from Rance Quest which made her a complete moeblob in terms of art, so that exacerbates the perceived age difference. There have been 2147 orders in all from the beginning of the preorder period to the latest order number. If 50% of those are for Rance (which is very likely since it has stayed on top for so long), it's above 4 digits. A more concervative estimate would be 30%, which would still mean 814 copies, but I don't think that's too likely since it probably sold at least 400 in the first 72 hours.

I thought that nearly all of MG's uncensored games were done from the pre-censor CGs. They just look terrible because the artists never expected them to be seen, so they didn't but a lot of effort on the parts that would be under mosaics. Also sometimes they exaggerate certain features to allow more detail to be seen through the mosaic but it winds up looking really strange when it is taken off.
