What's a fun tier 8 to buy with 8000 gold?

I keep hearing about lag on NA and it was even addressed on the WoT social media.
Honestly, I haven't played in about a month but my game's been near unplayable since 9.15.
Horrible FPS, lag, and delays when trying to move and fire. No other game or program has given me similar issues and I've already tried the repair in the client more than once. I don't even use any mods.

It's a fasty and low armored gun platfrom. Its relevance depends on the quality of its gun and the mobility-armor meta situation which is in turn dependant on map design and pen&accuracy mechanics.

Firstly of the gun. It's got good rof, pen and dpm, but it's got shit gun-handling. The aim of the shitty soft stats is clear - wg wants the leo to be a sniper not a roaming hunter. Expect to need to stand for a second or two for reliable shots. It doesn't have 100pen HE rounds tho. Also, depression is unexpectantly comfy as well.

Of the armor. There is enough of it to not get overmatched on the front and use to bait shots at corners. Every hit will bring module and crew damage which will damper your fun. Though it has actual not-only-on-paper comfortable speed and mobility which truly enables escapes, flenks and repositionings with lighttank levels of camo. Again wg wants to force it into a stealthy passive sniper role.

How does this fare? Corridor meta doesn't really favour it though it does at least have a gun (still hampered by the handling) to contribute even if it's out of its comfort-zone. Openish maps with mid-to-long range engagements is where it wants to be. Accuracy and rng being what it is of cource throws a spanner in the works here. While this hurts every tank in the game it's doubly so for the leopard since he specialises in this.

The leopard wants space operate which means that usually the beginnings of matches are the most uncomfortable ones. As soon as about 3-5 tanks have died the Leopard can be a a lot more active and employ his strenghts much more pro-actively. In the very late phase of the game the leopard is like a light tank on steroids and can shit on everything if he can keep some distance and always choose favourable positions to engage. This, however, can mean that sometimes games will be over way sooner than the leopard would like. Compare this to the russian meds that can put their strenghts to use from the very first contact onwards where only the sky is the limit on shitting on baddies on the frontlines.

So, is it meta? Well, not really, or at least not it's not on the top of the list. While it has strenghts and has real potential to influence the outcome of the match, wgs philosophy just doesn't favour the leopard. Everything from map design to mechanics seemingly work to enable russian meds and their style of play. So you'll always feel like you're struggling twice as hard to find farm and make plays and have fun shitting on shitters. But it's not useless or shit or unplayble either.
