Most of the PKers lurk around grinding spots.
There isn't a huge chance you'll get randomly shot down by someone, but do keep in mind: Assholes exist everywhere.

People don't waste their pvp resource killing random people, but ocne you step into their farm spot they'll probably kill you.

What you do is this, discover the nearest node, go to their farm spot, get killed, resurrect near their farm spot and go suicide against them again, repeat this over and over until they go red, stop killing you, or they change channels, then you can farm their spot. That's pretty much the only world pvp you'll see.

I often feel like I'm wasting stones, and should be building cheap failstacks somehow but I don't. Once I've spent more failing than what I would have spent just force upgrading I stop because I feel dumb, and my guild told me force upgrading is ALWAYS bad... so I don't know what I'm doing fucking wrong...

Just know this, in PvP your horses HP will melt fast in any sustained combat - even with BiS +10 enhanced gear and a tier 8. Sometimes you're better off dismounting and fighting, too. Either way PvP cavalry has to be hit and run unless you can control the opposition with well timed binds, stuns, and knockdowns. It'll be tough for your opponents to knock you off your horse, but I still keep my knockdown resist up.You'll want a horse with high turn rate with Charge, Drift, and Instant Accel combo skills to keep you away from your enemies striking distance but within your own spells striking distance. On top of all that you've got to manage your limited spell rotation, their cooldowns, and the new key combos interwoven between actually keeping your mount moving. Again sometimes that's simply not realistic and you'll be better off dismounting. It's extremely satisfying when you can literally run circles around your enemies, though.

PvE is straight forward as fuck. Sideways step with your spell rotation unless you don't care about efficiency or the mobs are actually dangerous. Those elite bandits in Valencia will fuck your horse sideways if you don't keep moving. Prioritize ranged mobs if you want your horse to last longer. A bunch of high tier pets and a good horse makes grinding supreme easy mode considering weight limit becomes meaningless. You will be chugging mana pots and carrots though.

1. Musa (Becomes really easy to play after awakening, insane midrange damage with mediocre, but easy stuns and insane survivability/mobility)
2. Berserker (Ridiculous survivability with HP pool, ridiculous single target CC with grab chains, and good burst)
3. Warrior (High survivability with blocks and mobile, crazy close combat burst with greatsword)
4. Maehwa (Tankier then musa, but harder to play requireing a bit more timing, more cc then Musa but still crazy close range burst potential)
5. Ranger (Spam a single skill to kill stuff, fun times. Really mobile and really high close range damage and good long range poke)
6. Kunoichi (Fast, good damage, best CC in the game with awakening)
7. Sorc (The mighty have fallen with mediah/valencia. Abilities started to get balanced. Lots of utility spells for group combat and some good burst. Very mobile)
8. Ninja (RULES OF NATURE, 5 swords for a single target. Probably highest single target burst in the game)
9. Tamer (Pet can be annoying, Roaring sucks people in. Lots of long CC abilities but make you a sitting duck)
10. Witch/wiz (Crazy aoe burst and CC but prone to CC themselves, especially stiffness kills this class. Requires some serious timing skills)
11. Valk (Wow stop playing anytime)

I've seen some posts in this thread about world-pvp and I want your honest opinon about it.
I mainly care for the pvp aspect of an MMO and outside is where I got most of my fun doing it in general.

Are there a lot of "known" areas to world-pvp/gank people? What are the downsides of killing a low-level player? Is there a complete stealth class? I've played a bit of Kuno and it was only around 12secs of invisibility, does it get longer/better?

I can tell you for certain that pve wise things are looking very good for us, i mean besides that you get to be a cute girl that snaps her fingers and stomps her fit on the floor to wreak havoc around,
we have huge aoe, a spell that increases the amount of monsters you can keep agro on you and very good damage along with great sustain, meaning you can stay out as long as your gear let you, no potions required at all,
i've seen korean streams of witches soloing shit only a ranger drinking mp and hp pots every second would solo before awakening.

As for pvp just by reading the skills you should get an idea, we dong really change all that much, witch has amazing damage potential and in korea where gear has gone significantly up for most players witches
delete whole teams of players with a few skills, the reality however is that range in this game is a joke in 1v1 pvp, a lot of classes can close any visible distance before you can even get a spell out, meaning that
basically unless you have amazing gear to be able to make your cc go trough most players that are aware of you and aware that you are about to attack them will be on your face before you can kill them,
but knowing that, witch is a very useful class in group pvp, there is a reason top hardcore guilds have recently kicked out all tamers but not witches/wizards, there is no other class that can do quite what we can do in group pvp.

So I just gave this game a shot the other day and bought the $15 version the day after, but I'm feeling a bit uneasy at this point.

On one hand, I really like the waifu I made. I also really like the way the combat feels, and how the game controls. The graphics are beautiful on the highest settings, but my PC can't run it on that.

On the other, this game seems like one of the most consumer unfriendly games I've ever seen in my life. There is blatant pay-to-win aspects in the cash shop. Several real, and even significant in-game advantages are offered for real money.

They don't let you upgrade the package you bought the game of, so if you bought silver, you can't ever upgrade to gold. This is a minor complaint that would only bother someone who has OCD like me. Having your account forever branded without any choice whatsoever to upgrade to the "definitive" version is annoying.

You can't change the e-mail address that your account is tied to if you decide you want to re-buy the game for the full version.

The naming system is complete shit and by far the worst naming system I've ever come across in an MMO. The restrictions are fucking pants-on-head retarded and make no sense. To top it off, they charge you real money if you want to go back to playing the try to find a non-shit name that isn't taken. What's the point of a fucking family name if it doesn't let you choose any name you want?

Then even if you do pay real money to change the shit name you got stuck with because everything non-retarded is already taken, you can't even change right away. You have to wait until the next maintenance. Even if you do throw your money away for a non-shit name, there's no guarantee that any of the names you want or like will be free. In fact, they're probably ALL taken. You have to pay not only to change the stupid family name, but also to change the character name.

The character creation while pretty nice, has some seriously fucking retarded flaws. Like sliders moving on their own. it took me a while to notice this, but I can go and make changes to things, save them to the profile I made, close out of the character creator, go back in and load it up, and the changes aren't saved at all. I can also go edit a part, then switch to another, make some changes to that, then switch back to the previous part and things will not be where I left them/set them to.

I want to like this game a lot, because I like the combat/gameplay from what I've played, and I really like the character I made, but I can't help but feel reluctant or afraid to delve any deeper. I've already had a lot of bad experiences with Korean MMOs, and it seems like they all solely exist to lure you in with pretty graphics and characters but to rip you off monetarily by siphoning money from you over the most ridiculous and absurd things.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, the graphics setting options for this game are completely shit and retarded. It's like they have no idea how to do proper balanced optimization at lower settings. Turning the graphics down at all seems to significantly impact major elements causing things like pop-in like 2 feet in front of your fucking character. It turns the LOD to completely disgusting shit with essentially no choice as to how you customize the graphics for a more balanced but not quite as taxing look.

Eh, that's not really true. FFXIV does the naming system very well. I can't imagine not being able to get names that I like in that game because of how the combined name is what counts for whether it's taken or not. As i said before, what do you win by paying? you become more efficient at farming? yes, so what? this game offers almost no group pve content, there are no raids no dungeons so what are you missing
if you cant farm as fast as the one who pays? you want to become top of the ladder? well you are too late for that even if there was no pay to win, the pvp is shit and the pve is basically single player,

Thank you. So there is actual bosses. Are they fun at all? Are they bullshit to be able to fight? I don't mean that in a difficulty sense, but like how often you can fight them, and whether or not people can claim them in a way that would prevent anyone else from fighting them.

Grinding for what purpose?

You listed PvP twice though so I assume that PvP is a major focus of this game. If it is, then why the hell are classes so bad that people refer to them as being completely shit and to not even use them in the PvP?

Is Korea ahead of us by a lot? Is Valkyrie not worthless shit in their version of the game? Basically is there any hope it will actually be worth playing in PvP?

The game was intended to be a sandbox MMO. Whether or not they succeeded or not at that is personal opinion, but the game was very much designed from the ground up to NOT be just another town-idling dungeon-grinding simulator. if that's what you're looking for, try TERA or B&S. They have similar combat systems and that's literally all there is to do in those games. Grind dungeons. Personally I find that shit insufferable and would take BDO's sense of freedom any day of the week.

Someone a few threads back described the PvE as being a musou game. That's a pretty good way of looking at it. You gather up mobs and burn them all down while feeling like a badass about it. It's lots of flash and little actual substance, but with some proper grind music playing it can still be enjoyable.

There are world bosses, but as you might expect they're nothing but zerg feasts that kill your fps. Rewards are based on damage done so until you're around 150 AP don't even bother showing up. There are also daily/weekly boss summon scrolls intended for group play, but with the gear available now it's not hard to just solo them.

tl;dr don't bother playing this game expecting their to be an "endgame" as far as modern MMOs go. Because there isn't. And there isn't suppose to be.
