Ok ive borrowed DA:I from a buddy twice and have always gotten bored and just stopped playing the game almost the second I get past closing the first big rift in the game.

I get to the Hinterland area where you get your horse and just lose all fucking interest, does the game pick after that part?

I really want to like the game, what ive seen watching my friend play looks interesting and fun but man that starting area just drains the life outta me.

I see. Then you are probably getting bored because Inquisition has these open-world maps filled with boring side-stuff. You are not supposed to explore the whole Hinterlands map at the beginning. Skip it for now, and go to Val Royeaux, the main-quest. You can do the Hinterland stuff later.

The Inquisitor. The Warden was fun and all, but the scope of their story was rather limited and it is now over.

Hawke had a good premise, but their story is done as well and they aren't really that important anymore (if anything, the title "Champion of Kirkwall" now only brings trouble and revenge after the mage rebellion).

The Inquisitor had the most influence, discovered world-breaking information and lore, was involved in pretty much the most important events of recent years in Thedas and even their companions are some of the most influential characters in the series. Also their story is clearly not over and there is still much they have to do.

Warden. If you think about it, the Warden-Commander went through more than the Inquisitor. He fought dragons too, he fought the BLIGHT, some of the first Darkspawns (The Architect and the other nigger, Builder or whatever his name is). The battle for Denerim was really cool and it was nice to meet rare demons in some houses in denerim or whatever, it felt more rewarding to kill them.

Inquisitor is close second, his journey was really interesting too but I just feel that the battle with Corypheus didn't culminate as I would have liked it. It happened too suddenly and he was just a nigger red lyrium darkspawn with Solas' shit artefact, nothing great.

The team working on ME:A is garbage. They aren't fond of the series as much as the people working on DA (Laidlaw, Weekes, Darrah and Epler have been there since day 1 of Origins), so they share very little with the fans, have a cold, professional relationship with each other, and don't bother keeping the hype much high.

That was true before Inquisition. DA2 alienated a good part of the normies fans who had actually enjoyed Origins and had found a new Bioware series to love. Before DA:I, the DA series was the epitome of SJW shitfest.

Then EA probably realized they could make more money with a different approach and Inquisition was made. It's a game that despite everything looks professional and had effort and love poured into, also because the wrong people (Gaider) had finally less influence over the project. That cannot be denied.

Its tarot cards inspired a trend that is dying only now, two years after the release, and its new approach to the lore and characters was highly praised.

Many of its elements have inspired and influenced the development of Andromeda, since the ME team asked for help after the release of Inquisition.

People are now continuously asking for news about DA4 because DA:I partially redeemed the series, whereas there is basically zero hope for Andromeda: just three months before the supposed release, they still have to fix the animations, dialogues, and interface and the plot is gonna be the usual "you are the special human soldier who is going to save the galaxy".

And as you said, the ME team isn't professional either, not even in a funny way like the DA team who jokes and posts puns all the time, so at least people will laugh over Weekes' jokes and will try to understand what Darrah is trying to say with that odd red book of his and cryptic tweets.

That's true, I really disliked DA2 to the point I spent years shitposting about it in the Something Awful forums, but DA:I brought me back to the fold. It's largely because of the great marketing, which is something I don't see in case of ME:A (not that I'm following its development, but still).

The artworks are pretty nice, but I'm a bit biased because I like symbolic stuff. I really enjoyed reading all the codex entries in the game too, it's hard to explain but they're really heterogeneous in that an excerpt from Varric's book, randy dowager gossip, or ancient elf stuff sound like they're actually written by different people, which is something I didn't notice in say, Obsidian's latest games where all the supplementary material reads like it's written by the same person.
