So, right now I'm running slightly-janky poorfag version of Kolento's Jade Druid (http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/686878-kolento-jade-druid) with some substitutions based on cards that I didn't have. Since I finally got enough dust to craft Aya, I can look towards replacing them.

The substitutions:
Brann and Fandrel are Druids of the Claws
The Feral Rages are Moonglade Portals
The Living Roots are Claws

I feel like it's pretty self-evident that a version of the deck with Fandrel and Brann is gonna be stronger just by the presence of two fairly high-impact legendaries, but they're just plain out of my reach. So I'm looking specifically at the Feral Rage/Moonglade Portal and Living Roots/Claw choices.

I'm basically just not sure how highly I rate the alternate 'Choose One' abilities of either, as they're really close otherwise.

Claw has synergy with Hero Power, Living Roots has synergy with Azure Drake.

Feral Rage is cheaper and 'heals' for more, Moonglade Portal develops a minion and can be used to heal the fat taunt minions I have in my deck.

I feel like a good chunk of it comes down to how often I want to be picking the options to drop some 1/1 tokens or gain 4 attack.

What do you think? Is it worth spending a little dust for the extra flexibility, or are the cards I'm using now fine?

How is hearthstone not pay to win? I have spent $400 USD on this game so far and still don't have a full collection. I am missing lots of meta legendaries such as Tyrion, Edwin, Leeroy, Patches, Aya, Jaraxxus, Kazakus, etc. How am I supposed to keep up without spending hundreds of dollars per expansion? I already spent $100 on MSG cards and only got 3 non-meta legendaries. I can't even make any tier 1 decks after spending $400 total...

That's because you're confusing winning and collecting.

You do not need a full collection at all. I play f2p since naxx and have a decent collection, and can ladder each month to 5 fine enough. Hell, I started getting to rank 5 each month really early on with a classic zoo list.

You do NOT need a lot of cards to win. You need one playable decks in each meta.

When Warrior plays it with Nzoth's First Mate, on turn 1 you get two 1/1 minions and a 1/3 weapon. That's literally Muster For Battle but with two minions instead of three.

When Rogue plays it it's a 1 mana 3/2 that also deals one damage and thins your deck so you worry less about drawing a minion during your Miracle turn.

It's less about the actual stats and more about the 'feel'. Throwing down Brann or Fandrel and immediately reaping the value of those cards feels good. Tossing down Deathwing an blowing up an enemy board while developing a huge minion of your own feels good. Ragnaros feels good, making clever plays with Sylvannus feels good.

Patches doesn't have that' feel' impact most of the time unless you're doing Shenanigans with Gang up to suddenly build a board using him.

If you don't understand why Patches is fuckstrong you belong in Rank 20.

Either you hold the button down after the opponent starts an action, which then doesn't give info out, but doesn't solve the problem of hitting the button after every action.

Or you hold it down before even seeing the enemy action, which means the opponent will see that you instantly made the choice to not play an instant, without having had time to consider it, giving away that you either have no instants, or have none worth considering. Both of those give out info.

Blizzard needs to get their shit together with strong 1/2 drops, either every class gets them or none.

When just a few classes have acesses to strong early game it results in cancer. If they want to continue this "taking turns" strategy where they give just a few classes good early game then rotations need to come faster. We've lived under the tyranny of tunnel trogg for too long already and now there's small time buccaneer too.

Most players in constructed on MTGO don't hold down anyways. The ones that do are usually playing aggro decks or queueing multiple games at the same time.

If they can't trade favorably with pirates they're not strong. This is why hunter is shit now, hunter needs board control or their hero power is useless but hunter can't get board control because there's nothing they can run that can compete with pirates/troggs.

Those are turn 2 and 3 and take the entire turn. The power of Jade claw and Rust Hook is that you get to play the weapon and at the same time develop a minion. Then the weapon lasts for 1-2 more turns after that too. Spells don't compare to that tempo.

I'm not saying its impossible to kill these things I'm saying in general if you are playing a deck that relies on sticking minions to the board early and you can't run pirates effectively your minions will get fucked by decks that do run pirates because they are simply better than other 1/2 mana minions.

Basically the only good aggressive decks now are ones that use pirates, that is what I don't like. We're pretty much at the point where if you can't use the pirates you have to play that class as a control deck.

I don't like that rogue, shaman, and warrior are now pretty much the only classes "allowed" to play aggressively.

When only certain classes get access to objectively stronger early minions it warps the meta because all other aggressive decks just become worse versions of those decks.

Do Tunnel Trogs shout 'Best!' 'Fist!' or 'Face!' when you attack with them? I've never been certain.

So? If you want an aggressive deck, you have 3 different classes to pick from, and multiple variants depending on just how aggressive you want to be. If you want a slower control deck, you have 4 more classes to pick from. That's not a bad thing, it's just class identity.

I can agree with that. They're easily replaced with similar cards, even if those similar cards aren't quite as good. A mage deck with a Kobald instead of Thalanos, or a Pirate with pretty much any decent 1 mana drop instead of Patches, will still be more or less the same as one without, just a little worse.
