This is the way it basically works now: Microwave gun ground flame does more damage than any other ground flame by far, and you spread as much fire next to zeds as possible to stack a ton of damage up.

I've easily gotten top zed kills, and top zed killer with the new Microwave gun. The buff was deceptively overpowered.

It's a special Gorefast with 2 blades.
It has twice as much body health and three times as much head health as a normal Gorefast.
It's faster than a normal Gorefast.
Its attacks deal very high damage and are essentially uninterruptible. They can't be parried and they can only be stopped by killing them.
They replace half of all Gorefasts spawned on HoE.

How often do you reliably 3 shot SCs? Because I'm of the same opinion that melee hitboxes are shit, and they tend to require not just horizontal accuracy on a vertical strike (putting the trace over the head), but an exact distance too. When I'm too close I hit their back. If I space it correctly I hit their head.

Survivalist?
I mean, its WHOLE PURPOSE is made completely redundant because of crossperk functionality now. A Commando with a Medic AR will heal ever so slightly worse than a Survivalist with a healing build (and obviously much worse than a Medic, but that's besides the point) but will have much more damage and has all the specialized features like HP bar vision, revealing cloaked enemies, and zed time extensions, none of which Survivalist gets.
It was a shitty perk even before this update but now there's literally no reason to play it other than for the achievements and/or completionism or just wanting to gimp yourself.

Gunslinger is also pretty shit now since Sharpshooter gets 2 of his guns (not to mention he does more damage with them, albeit with far less mobility) and the freeze grenade can get some very quick and easy big zed kills.
Not to say Gunslinger is bad or has nothing going for him. He's still fast, has zed slowdown with headshots, and is still fun to play overall. It's just that he gets outclassed by most other perks.
The only things worse than Gunslinger is Survivalist for the aforementioned reasons and a Firebug's team. Firebug is decent/good again, but this also means your fire gets in the way of the aim of your teammates (assuming they are playing anything that actually requires aiming) and big zeds panicking after being lit on fire only makes it all the worse.

If your perk is capable of headshotting and/or its effective range isn't <5 meters from a zed, your perk will be affected by Demolitions explosions (especially nuke going off in zed time) and Firebug flames and panic afflictions.
Or in case I need to spell it out, perks that get fucked by Firebug and Demo, from most to least:

Just did a game as Support with the medic shotgun, not very powerful feeling just from how medic weapons feel in general, but its actually pretty good nonetheless as it made quick work of things like sirens and bloats when needed.

Slots into the AA12/DBS duo and acts like how an M4 would feel, only with a mag reload and dart potential.

8/10, held back partially through being pricey and the slow dart rate compared to the medrifle or if a medic was rocking the gun.

Anybody with a GTX 1080/70/60 having bugsplat issues?

Every since the beta for the launch patch my games been crashing on me at completely random times. Sometimes I can finish a match and others I can't even finish a round.

The crash log usually ends with multiple lines saying:
Log: Timed out while waiting for GPU to catch up. (500 ms)

Did a clean re-install of drivers and fully verified / un-installed the game numerous times.

Remove the AK-12 from the game and instead introduce the AK-74, a crossperk weapon between Commando and Zerker.

The AK-74's bullet do the same damage as the AK-12s and has the same fire rate. An attached Bayonet does about the same damage as the Zweihander but lacks a light attack (The gun does that instead)

Bash performs a stab
MMB performs a parry/block
LMB fires the gun
And RMB usually performs a smash attack but also has a 0.45 chance of aiming down the sights instead

Yeah I know that, but when your back is against the wall ( or a bunch of trash you won't get over with a jump) a parry gives you just enough of a breather to change the situation in your favor, atleast it did for me. Granted, you shouldn't end up in that situation to begin with, but with the chaotic nature of uncoordinated mates you often do end up like that.

SS is still great- with terms and conditions.

SS is troubled by the fact that Demo can do essentially the same thing, but with less risk.

Demo can RPG easy kill FPs and Scrakes (with dud rounds). Slower than SS with a railgun, but not by enough to really matter. Furthermore, if a trash swarm threatens, Demo can blow them away in an instant. Unless the SS is carrying an M14 or throws a cryo, it's far more dangerous.

On that note, SS requires a lot more effort to use effectively.

Frankly, you could essentially play Demo or GS and receive the same results for half the difficulty required, and that's not a dig at Demo or GS, it's just how it is with SS.

True, but once again, a Demo with an RPG can smash out the same if not better damage while requiring half the effort to aim.
It's not hard to do big damage when your rounds explode and roast everything around them, and on boss waves you want the easiest path to a fast win possible.

I do think that the cryo grenade buff really did send him crashing up to the top tiers for big zed killing.
If you can catch an FP with a cryo before using your M14 or Rail, it's pretty much a free kill.

There's nothing wrong with playing the stuff you enjoy the most. It's a PVE game, there's no competition involved so might as well play around with the classes that you enjoy and guns that are fun to shoot. That's mainly why I prefer playing with terrible pubs on hard rather than with good folks on suicidal, at least with a shitty team I'm not playing a sentry for 10 waves with nothing exciting happening.
It's also why I wish they never went with that retarded neon design for the medic's guns, they feel terrible. They could've fixed that with crossperk functionality but nope. I don't understand why they just didn't use the subtle dart attachment that we had in KF1, why should the medic be the only class lit like a christmas tree ? Is this really that important to know where your medic is and are people so retarded that they can't look up the perk icons ? From the moment they showed the designs in their devlog before EA I though that was an horrible idea. I don't know why but it almost feels like with this sequel Tripwire wanted to do everything different for the sake of novelty instead of pondering if that was a pertinent choice. I can understand stuff like going from a grindhouse aesthetic to a futuristic one, I mean yeah in my opinion it's a terrible decision but it's still something that makes sense in the scope of a sequel. Their bios tell you more than enough about the characters.
Basically, some of them are survivors from the first game that Horzine then hired to clean up their mess. The newcomers are just that: newcomers. Out of the 6 people in the original squad, only 2 canonically survived. Police Constable Briar and Lieutenant Masterson are the only survivors while Corporal Lewis, Sergeant Powers, Private Schneider, and Police Sergeant Davin are all canonically dead.

I don't know why I didn't try this before, but I like it a lot. With the stun skill you can stun Scrakes with the M14 no problem, and you can use grenades on FPs and use the .500s, circumventing the use of the Crossbow.

So far I've been playing Sharpshooter (18lvl) on Suicidal. Feels pretty weird when I need to score headshots to do any damage, while Demo with RPG or Swat/Commando can do whatever and be equal or even better. Should I stick to that class or look for another one?
Also Firebug on 6, but feels pretty weak.

Even when you put everything into being mobile, and use .500s and M14 you still don't get bonuses to bodyshots so you don't one shot a lot of pathetic trash with particular weapons. You can take a dump on Scrakes and FPs, but it can also be irritating that you can't magdump them mindlessly when your whole team is fucking up your aim.

MWG has the most ground fire damage, and it's ground fires have 200 radius instead of 100. This means you can have adjacent fires deal damage instead of ones they're directly on top of meaning a FP that might only reasonably be able to be hit by 3-4 fires can now be hit by 8-12 fires.

It also does the most splash damage, but this is really nothing compared to the ground fire damage, maybe 20%.

It also has it's own incap cooldown, Microwave, meaning you can stumble them, then fire panic them, then microwave them, then probably stumble them again. They're dead in 5 seconds though.

It also requires no aim, and is mass AoE with a metric shit ton of ammo. The ground fires only do 1 more damage, about +7.5% with Bring the Heat, so the double magazine size skill allows you to kill a 3l FP wave with a Scrake or two without reloading.

Bombadier and Shock Trooper are both fine. Bombadier doesn't really help you kill anything in fewer hits, but with a team helping it could mean one less shot.

Never ever take High Impact Rounds. Anyone can 2 RPG headshot a Scrake, even with all the bonuses it stays a 2 hit kill. With Armor Piercing Rounds you can RPG dud into M16/M79 dud for a quick Scrake kill.
You can't do the same with High Impact Rounds, it adds no additional quick kills or anything. Extra Rounds is a lot better anyway.

Sonic Resistant Rounds is a no brainer. The other one is shit.

Take Armor Piercing Rounds if you're going to RPG into secondary dud Scrakes. If you're not then take the other one.

Destroyer of Worlds does basically everything. It adds radius which already steps on Mad Bomber's toes. It removes all falloff so you can clip a FPs pinky toe and do full damage. It adds a weak DoT that insta panics anything in one tick. And finally even if you're in dud range it explodes anyway and deals no damage to you.

You can headshot the scrake and your commando can almost instantly decap him and if you have a support the additional ammo you get from extra rounds isn't important because you don't run out of it before the round is over anyway.

The damage reduction is pretty high combined with the passive reduction you get, plus the skill is bugged and the extra damage is active at all times while the skill selected. Combine that with the extra damage reduction buffs you get from a Medic and you're pretty much invincible.

Only problem is you gotta keep parrying every 10 seconds if you want to keep the damage reduction buff going, so if the effect wore off and you find a group of Sirens or Husks, you're fucked. At least on HoE.

Now that the prices aren't as linear as they were and there's a decent bit of variety, they should really up the DBS price to 700/750, considering how powerful it is, as well as how there are already two cheaper alternatives and that it's only really necessary for scrakes.
The m4 could also go down a bit. 900 or 1000 maybe, to make it worth buying.
On that note, the m79 could do with a price increase, while the C4 and maybe 1911's could go a bit cheaper

the m16 is fun but it'd be nice if they upped the damage ever so slightly

the medic SMG could also do with a slight damage buff if they hope to make it at all viable. Maybe up the syringe recharge to be slightly better than the pistol

Bonecrusher is fun to use but still not as good as Katana for trash, Zweihander for Scrakes, Pulverizer for Fleshpounds or Evi for big guy beheading. It's pretty average for it's price and feels bugged with almost all attacks turning zeds into gibs. And fuck those glowing effects.

Crossperking didn't really change the loadout dramatically. Support should as always carry AA12 and DBS, the last gun comes down to person preferances, but it's not going to be better than those two. I would even say that SG500 is the best third gun as it offers the best precision, next to AA12, with Tight Choke for medium range sniping.

Medic AR has more recoil and it's worse to use compared to AK-12. If you want to only focus on killing zeds, you should stay with Commando only weapons, if you want to help the team from time to time, you may pick the AR but you won't kill zeds that fast.

Are you flicking your mouse and creating mass ground fire exclusively? You kill FPs in seconds, Scrakes in seconds.

But you do it while killing everything else around you. And while not needing to reload, and while killing the other two FPs. And when the boss wave comes you body block him before he runs away and kill him in seconds too.

It's not about the speed kill empty room testmap contest. It's about entering any game, getting top kills in everything against ebin pro SSs or whatever, while flicking your wrist like a spaz.

I just timed using the MWG on HoE 6P Patty and it took 9.67 seconds to do 11.8k damage, and send him running to heal, which is 1.2k DPS

Just for reference you can do just over 2k with a 20 round AA12 drum with all pellets to the arm.

I've taken to using the trenchgun for early waves as support. It does 244 damage total per shot, with added afterburn, compared to the DBS's 300.
you don't really need the DBS until scrakes start spawning, and if you're going for the AA12 then you can just snipe with that, rather than switching to the sg

also, firebug can kill HoE patty with just under 70 ammo of the microwave gun.

On some maps Gunslinger gets cornered too easily. Berserker doesn't get fucked by bad teleports as much as Gunslinger. A perfectly played Gunslinger with insane headshot accuracy....yeah. But usually shit is just too chaotic around you and especially in HoE where everything just sprints at you you'll have a hard time being consistent with your play.

It's still not as bad as in KF1, now the syringe always triggers the animation as long as you're missing health. I remember that a lot of dumb niggers in KF1 were just standing there with their syringe out wondering why it wouldn't trigger the animation (since in KF1 if you were being healed to 100 the game assumed you were full health).

GS with starting pistols is absolute shit.
GS with single anything is absolute shit.
GS with dual deagles is a suprisingly good trash clearer.
GS with dual 500's is a motherfucker against FP's and scrakes at point blank range.


It all depends on your accuracy. If you can stay on target and headshot, you will be a beast. If your aim sucks, try a different class.

GS, SS and Zerker are all high skill/High reward classes. In the right hands they can either carry the team or be the lone survivor who recovers from a near wipe. In the wrong hands, you are just in the fucking way and you should have taken swat or something else so you can at least clear trash for the people doing the hard work.

Demo and FB are for the players cant aim for shit and just need baby mode.

There is no such thing as an "absorption rate" in the way you're thinking of in KF2. In KF1 there is, but that's just because Medic has it.
In KF2, the closest to it is damage resistance stacking on top of your armor as well.
As armor gets weaker, it'll absorb less and less damage.

Each integrity level allows to absorb different amount of damage: High = absorbs 75% of all incoming damage, Medium = absorbs 65% and Low = absorbs 55% of all incoming damage.

You're missing the point entirely.
If armor has a set amount of damage it can take, like 200, and a player has 100 HP, then being hit by an attack that does 10 damage means the armor will take 7,5 (rounded down to 7) damage and the player will take 3 damage.
That 7 damage cannot be repaired other than picking up an armor drop or taking it from a Support. That 3 damage can be healed infinitely.

If you make the absorption rate 85% it's the same thing but the armor goes down faster while the player takes less damage.
If you make it 100% then the player is immune to physical damage but the armor will go away fast since it takes all the damage.
If you want to make SWAT's skill viable then you also need to make the armor itself stronger, like by giving it its own HP modifier like x1.5. So if you have 150 armor that's worth 300 armor HP on its own, you'll now have 450 armor HP.
Otherwise that skill will always remain worthless since you just lose armor faster and can't be buffed by a Medic unless he goes out of his way to aim at you manually.
