Cyrano de Bergerac is used in SubaHibi for many purposes.

Firstly, it's a French Play that is known for its entertainment quality more than its literary quality. This comes up at a later scene where a character talks about how fun literature is. Essentially this is the ideal for the entire game - to be a beautiful illusion.

This ideal also fits in with the Soap Bubbles speech which is one of the most whimsical moments of poetry in the whole game. The entire first arc is a Yuri route to reflect this fact - as an illusory happiness that occurs before the rest of the suffering comes in.

Cyrano de Bergerac is also one of the archetypal Shounen-esque characters, so a lot of his words are about wholeheartedly confronting adversity and all that kind of stuff. His quotes appear in some of the most hot-blooded moments of the game.

It also has a plot involving a poet pretending to be a soldier to help that soldier woo a certain love. This plays deeply into the plot of SubaHibi later, but it involves a huge spoiler.

So basically, Cyrano de Bergerac is used because its a fun play with a lot of whimsical poetry and quotes that can be used in Chuuni scenes.

When I try mounting "main" which is supposedly a .bin file, I get this. It's the same for Daemon Tools, MagicISO, and VCD. The only other file is the start.exe which I move into the game folder. (there's nothing else in the .rar) Then I try starting it with the start.exe but it doesn't work. I have no idea what's wrong, I've installed shit like this before.

What's the point of these Tips? It just Aoi being moe, you could make a whole game with this and it would be better than most moege, but they don't look like tips for anything.

It's a shame they didn't retain some of the German from Gare's old translation, 忠誠こそ我が名誉 is clearly meant to evoke "meine Ehre heißt Treue" for example and I feel it should be translated as such (especially given the prevalence of "Sieg Heil Viktoria"), though I can understand why they've chosen not to use it. I also liked "And what is dead can never die" in regards to Machina, though again I guess Lovecraft gon' sue if they kept that.
It's doing a pretty good job. I'm guessing that Conjueror was chiefly responsible for translating this part - or at least I'd be very surprised if he didn't, because it feels very similar to the Tokyo Babel translation, though accordingly I find myself stumbling over some of the same issues I had with that, like overuse of 'translator's English' and a mismatch between complexity of vocabulary and complexity of writing. Though for every line I feel is a bit questionable he nails three, and that's a feat in and of itself so I suppose I can hardly complain too much.
Dialogue translation in particular is a cut above, though, zero complaint there. I'm really pleased with Schreiber in particular (who I had pegged as one of the characters it would be really difficult to get right, along with Mercurius and Valeria Trifa), his character comes across really well while remaining something you can actually take seriously which I can imagine being really very hard to get right from a writing perspective.
Oh yeah, and I guess I'm being That Guy today but "haddied" at 23:44 probably needs fixed if it hasn't been already.

A-2 or 11eyes which one should I go first?
