I loved P3, but P4 has a terrible party that don't get shit done.
I'm at Void Quest and for fuck's sake I have to avoid a lot of shit coming from the enemies ambushing me, manage to get through the floors and in the meanwhile try to save mp.
And all of this is slow as fuck, it takes way too much to navigate, and if some stupid dice blows you up or something else gets the initiative and kills you, you go back to the save point and goodbye to all your progress.

For the shields option your friends all glare at you and the assist gauge goes down. Then Dagda throws a tantrum and gets a power boost because he assumes you only chose the route to spite him. I've been playing p3 and holy shit it is really good
The english VA isn't a pain in the ass and the dungeon may be simple but good
I would have liked the encounters to be randomized
(And some of the characters are pretty nice, the moon and emperor arcana are some of my choices to pick)
My only problem with the game is probably the fusion system, I remember SJ to have the moveset for the demons random but here is even harder to get what you want, it took me like 20 minutes to get megido on a Samael but well it's bearable
(Also the AI can be a hit-miss but it's feels nice when it does something useful)
I thought persona was weeb-bait but it ended being an enjoyable experience
Would I feel the same way about p4?

If Atlus were smart (or just not lazy), social link progression would have influenced main story events in P4. It's really weird seeing Yosuke develop into a mature and respectable person in his SL, but still act like a retard in story events. At least Teddie gets better throughout the game, but only because his SL is compulsory.

If they wanted to be cruel, they could even force a social link 'scorecard' at certain points; if your cumulative total of SL levels is too low, the IT won't have enough knowledge/clarity/teamwork to progress onwards.

P4G Very Hard is just Hard with two changes:

Damage scales on level difference, so you can either grind a lot to make up for EXP/money shortfalls (and risk losing progress if a strong enemy gets the drop on you), or plan your fusions months in advance.

P4 is a downgrade to P3FES in many ways except that it replaced the retard filter of party AI with direct command, although it's not like either game is hard or anything.
I always hear that P4G kinda balances out this issue with more content and gameplay mechanics, but you have to own a Vita for that, and fuck that noise.

The plot and characters are simply hit or miss, and your enjoyment from it depends on how much you like or tolerate SoL anime.

From what I hear, the only major difference is that back attacks give enemies free press turn crits, you can't run effectively without Trafuri and shit in stores costs 3 times as much, I've only ever played in hard though so I wouldn't know if any of that shit makes the games easier, spending more time grinding cash for magatama and gaining levels in the process seem like it defeats the purpose of shit being tougher to fight.

Is it worth goong through new game+ in SMT1?
