I already beat both I and II on KMT on my hacked Wii, II is probably my favorite Megaten I've played. Depends on your anxiety and the severity of anxiety that you feel. I'm on a med right now called propranolol. Was originally made for high blood pressure but due to how it works it also helps for coping with anxiety attacks.

If your anxiety interferes with the quality of your life and / or is all you think about, that is a point where you should seek some professional help. I've been in therapy for 3 years since I developed an anxiety disorder. Therapy will help a lot if you aren't already having sessions, depending on the therapist. But majority of the time if you have a good therapist, they will teach you how to cope with anxiety as well as how to "diffuse" anxiety and get over it entirely.

For myself, I just don't let my thoughts snowball into an anxiety attack. Whenever I notice an irrational thought or something that I think about ad nauseum I just ignore it like every other random thought and allow it to pass without causing myself unnecessary stress.

If I'm not about to have a panic attack or if I feel relatively calm I challenge the fact that I'm feeling anxious and do things to calm myself down, physiologically and emotionally. I try to breathe slower and focus on something around me, like my keys or just how I'm breathing.

My anxieties aren't based around everyday things. I have a lot of absurd thoughts and irrational fears that are vague in nature so they're more difficult to diffuse (in my experience) than say, worrying about whether I'm going to do okay in a job interview.

To get to the point for your situation though, it sounds like you have a lot of fears about the future and you probably spend time ruminating about them and imaging the ways things can go wrong. If that's true, you'll need to prevent the anxiety from snowballing and encourage yourself to think about more positive things, like measurable goals that you know that you have the capability to achieve.

if you can set a goal and achieve it, it will put you in the right mindset to continue to set goals and find out what your limitations are. Be wary though to keep your needs in mind. Your goals may even be related to your needs. Doing something to de-stress or put yourself in a good mood might even be a good start. Don't push yourself too hard, be aware of the fact that your mind and body have to rest in order to maintain your health. Chronic stress sucks ass, and I believe it's the cause of the majority of 16-28 year olds complaints of being constantly tired and stressed out. Being stressed out for a long period of time will just wear you down.

It makes me feel accomplished & keeps my mind busy from causing anxiety onto myself

Like right now, I'm trying focus into Real Estate but at the same time, I have a nursing certificate & its like a huge setback cause I failed that big nursing test, that's probably where it began, thinking about it.

I may talk with my doctor about taking some anti-anxiety stuff, but I'd rather not have that unless I need it cause I'll probably use it more often than I thought & I don't want it as some crutch for when thinking about it becomes harder on me.

Good attitude to have. Too many people in mental health have the attitude that medication is some easy street or fix-all cure for your problems and problematic thought patterns.

I've been on medication for about 1.5-2 years and I don't think it's made much of a difference at all. Recently got off an SSRI and dealt with some awful withdrawal anxiety, but I feel like the propranolol is probably making the anxiety attacks have less physiological power over me. Less heart racing and hyperventilation.

They can be a world of trouble by themselves anyway... You never know how you'll react to a medicine until you take it, and some of them take a while to be effective.

They're really not worth the time and energy needed to experiment with them and figure out what works for you. Though if you're like me they probably won't make a difference and just make you more hungry / have less sex drive.

I wouldn't go for a psychiatrist first. It's like going to the urologist about a kidney stone just because you've been having back pains. Therapist will help you a LOT more in learning how to manage your anxiety and develop more healthy ways of thinking. They will also help you come to the decision on whether you really want to go through with medication or not. Been to the funny farm twice so that's where I started, unfortunately.

Good luck though. People can go through phases of anxiety in harsh times like this, so I wouldn't fret if it isn't interfering with your daily life. I had social anxiety when I was 13 but didn't know what the word even meant. But I couldn't stand going into a crowded room or doing a presentation. Now I fuck around in public and mess with my friends. Got class clown my senior year.

fellow SMT fag here. Ive been on the Hacking and homebrew thread for months and months at a time. I feel like its about time I went back to my rightful place at SMTgen. Also I beat P5 a couple weeks back. How did everyone like it?

I'm not upset about it being Adachi.
I'm upset that Namatame gets a pass at "he was unwilling but someone messed with him" after the kunino-sagiri fight. Adachi gets a prompt "whatever it was, it didn't come without reason" when the eyeballno-sagiri gets out of him. And shortly later it's shown Izanami fucked around with personas and chose him because lolmessingaround.

Then again, he was a designated villain and moral dilemmas of being a murderer aren't Persona material. And if it was posession plot, it wouldn't be neatly packed up for normal people and crime investigation, so it had to be resolved in this manner, with Adachi confessing and willingly going to jail, which swiftly sands him his rightful punishment without anyone looking into details.

Adachi confessed and went to jail because Persona wasn't about magic gay disco eyeballs or some faggy "Everyone wants secrets so all humans should be all secrets forever and ever and all truth should die" magic bullshit. It was about humanity and Adachi's was the tale of a mediocre gamma male who was full of resentment and despair and got super powers and then decided to do what people full of resentment and despair do when they get super powers.

The game was meant to be a murder mystery baked in small town nostalgia. Yeah, it was a fucking awful murder mystery but that still doesn't mean you ought to break the rules of the murder mystery tale or the small town nostalgia tale.

Then again, basically every ending in SMT4 and 4A are proven to be false when you read info not actually provided in the games, so maybe Atlus doesn't give a shit.

I live in a europoor country where there's apparently no one selling SMT4:A except for a single retailer who upped the price by quite a bit, so I had to check alternatives from other countries. Either way, if it truly is your first, you're buyingh a Bethesda game, not an RPG in a classic sense.

Don't misunderstand me, WRPGs are a fucking mess of a genre, even worse than JRPGs. But Bethesda has a unique style. It's essentially the Call of Duty of the genre, only without the slick production values or good QA. It's mass produced, buggy, patchwork pap without any care to craft.

Bethesda is only good at one thing (And people deny them this virtue wrongly), and that is making a giant world full of stuff to see and walk through and dumb trinkets to collect. They fail at almost every other aspect of RPG design.

The classic WRPGs are classic for a reason. KotOR, BG, Fallout 1 and 2, etc. They aren't especially well designed as games but they are certainly stronger experiences than modern shit, especially Bethesda shit.

I never had any cash money problems in IV.
You just sell all the chakra shits and beads you won't even use. At later point after you get all the important stuff like skill slots, you get the scout +, scout gift and scout bonus and you earn money from recruiting. Coupled with 50% cost from Mido you don't have any problem with money. Guns and swords aren't even that important to have since there are good ones in field, demonica is a hand out that will work well into the game, and coverage with smirk will finish most encounters in a single turn.
You don't have much to spend money on, unless you go for black card and its ultimate Jew shops.

I actually looked into translating this once, but there are a couple of issues. The Windows version is a hot mess. You need to run a fanpatch to get it to work right. The PC98 version is weird. It seems to decode text at runtime and I can't figure out how exactly. The upside is that they share a lot of the same files - Windows version basically has the exact same files for assets, text, etc. Everything except for the new UI and dungeons.

at the moment I'm just hoping if...'s translation gets released someday, and that maybe Gid secretly canceled the SFC version to translate the vastly superior PS1 version.

Maybe this general's enthusiasm with overanalyzing stories and alignments has deluded you. But the mechanics of SMT games are the best things the franchise has going for it; fusing is fun, press-turn battle system is fun, creating different builds for your MC and demons is fun. The combination of all these plus generally great OSTs, good art designs, and what many consider as unique settings is what makes the series so good.

If you want more people to buy and play TMS, maybe you should change the way you discuss it here. You could try to tell others why you like it, what elements make the game good, and why is it worthwhile to try out. Instead of posting endless flamewar-bait, which happens to be the large majority of TMS related posts and part of the reason why the game is so hated.
