This. Elves have crazy high initiative, meaning they are almost always going first unless it's against other Elves.

Used correctly elite infantry can obliterate entire enemy units before they can swing back.

Not only do elves have high initiative but they also have Always Strikes First, which is self explanatory.
The glaives the wildwood rangers have are great weapons though, and while that makes them better at killing, those give you Always Strikes Last.
However the two special rules cancel eachother out and you get to attack on your far above average elven initiative

Harpies are a neat addition but are basically as valuable as Vampire Bats (they can be used to harass artillery but otherwise they get obliterated under any kind of focus fire).

How do you deal with expanding as Wood Elves?

Do you raze then colonise or just colonize, razing lands you don't plan on holding at the moment? (I've got 200,000 in the bank from razing the Badlands/Dwarven Karak)

Do you build the "special" buildings like lumber camps/quarries? The income or damage increase buildings?

I like to build at least one of the replenishment camps in a province which helps with resettling.

Fuck now I think about it Wood Elves replenish faster than VC.

Vlad is the old-hat, Mannfred was the focus of the VC in the most recent editions.

His model got updated more frequently, he had more of a focus in the End Times, and since the Age of Shitmar he has been the main VC character in the lore.

Marienburg shouldn't be as hyper-aggressive as they are, it's only because they get mad dosh from the port which allows them to swallow nearby provinces. Wildwood Rangers needed a buff, but they've gone overboard a bit. I also won't begrudge glade guard/riders the damage buff, but Glade Guard really didn't need the 180 range on top of it. I won't begrude the exra 20m on either Deepwood Scout variant, though. Or on Waywatchers unless they eventually get Snipe on top of it.

Handing out higher missile range than any other missile infantry to the cheapo Glade Guard has some pretty big problems. For one, Quarellers now can't kill the fuckers if there's a minimum of micro involved. That's a problem because Quarellers are basically the only cost-effective counter Dorfs have for dealing with low-costed skirmishers like that.

Basically, I'm fine with the buffs except they could mellow down the Rangers a bit (them beating up Black Orcs is kinda bullshit) and remove the extra range on Glade Guard.

Eternal/glade guard spam is going to be the new Brettonian peasant spam build. Same strategy of just clicking units for your archers to instakill while your spears sit in melee forever. Instead of Louen/paladin squad it will be Glade lord/waywatcher/life caster for max arrow of kurnous/heal spam. Literally no skill required to win beyond making sure your archers don't get rear-charged; but even if they do you can just focus fire with all your other archers to remove the threat

Whoever decided to buff Glade/eternal guard at CA needs to be drawn and quartered

I fucking iced durthu early on in this battle and both of my knights got into his glade guard but even with their 25% magic resist you can just pull one archer out and shoot anything in the back for an insta-rout. Once I broke his line I had to chase his fucking wavering units across the map since apparently his eternal guard units w/ 2-3 elfs left had a chance against my full strength halberds i kept in reserve
