If you get the glitched screen after loading the site, then it probably worked even if it looks frozen. Press the select button to run the installer (it's practically instant), wait 10+ seconds then power off. FFX-2 keeps giving me that C2-12828 error at the same part. On chapter 2 and after I fight Ormi it crashes. Snes emulation is tricky. It can be done through the homebrew launcher, but not very well. The same goes for the gba emulation, but worse.
The way it works best is by getting cfw. It lets you install VC titles, which is basically an emulator and a rom. They run very well, and cfw lets you play them and injects where you choose exactly which rom VC plays.
