One thing I don't like about this game is it makes me feel like I'm being punished for certain weapons. I mainly play with the CAR because I've had it since level one so I'm most comfortable with it, but I really enjoy the Mastiff, EPG and Flatline. The problem is I can pick up Devotion, Volt or Hemlock and instantly do better with no effort on my part.

Legion main here, I feel like playing Legion is an exercise in patience. Ion/Tone shields, Ronin/Northstar dashes and Scorch firewalls are all gonna make life difficult for you because you are slow and can only fire in short bursts before having to reload again.

The pattern is peep around the corner till they pop their shield, get back to reload and wait out their shield, repeat. Power shot if they get too close. Just gotta take your time and exploit EVERY opportunity to reload and never waste a single moment of unshielded shoot time.

It is impossible to not be "near cover" in these maps. Firing the laser core, Ion gets slowed down to 25% of her base movement speed, that's 2.7 MPH. Even a crouching Ogre moves at 5 MPH, you would have to be trying really hard to not get to cover once a laser core starts warming up.

the leadwall is your primary source of anti-titan DPS if you're not in sword core mode

don't forget about shield block, if an enemy is about to use a high-damage attack against you, throw up your sword block (for example, if a tone lands three cannon rounds on you, you can be fairly sure his next attack will be a tracking missile barrage, make sure you block it)

remember that ronin is a skirmisher, not a brawler like scorch. you want to be flanking / outmaneuvering your enemy whenever possible.

a lot of ronins run with nuke eject, I used to but at this point I don't because its become very predictable and very few people fall for it any more. in its place, I use an extra dash (can never have too many)

phase dash has a variety of uses, if an enemy titan is about to hit you with a core ability, enter phase space to buy yourself some time. a good skirmishing tactic is to magdump the leadwall into your target, and then phase dash. reload the leadwall while in phase space to keep your vulnerability to a minimum

most of the ronin-specific kits are useful, but thunderstorm is my favorite. having two charges of arcwave is great

Every time I play bounty hunt I only die in the last half second of depositing, and the only reason is because half the time I choose the wrong deposit center and get fucked by a whole team when I'm going slow at the point.

Yep, go fast and get high. You want as many rounds as you can to impact your target or a nearby surface. Coming in from above is your best bet, which is why it's not great on the wide-open maps

Anyone else feel like Ronin is the most snowbally titan to first-to-fall? Since he's pretty much the best pilot lawnmower in the game. I could see arguments for Tone, too, but she's good at everything so yeah

Every time I play against a first-to-fall Ronin, the next 5 minutes are just my team getting swooced 24/7 and nobody can get their titan to respond. I only play attrition by the way.

Nobody focuses titans in this game. There are plenty of AT weapons designed to put the hurt in titans at all ranges and no one uses them effectively unless they have literally no other choice.

If teams can focus a single Titan down in a few seconds its not a threat. We did it in 8v8 a few times, although usually the majority of the losing team (theirs) doesn't get to drop titans before we've won the match.

Those 8v8 mixtape match the xboners play are crazy, it's almost always 75-20 for score, which means less than 2 kills per enemy average, which means zero titans.

I think Reach gets a lot of unjust hate IMO. Yes, it messed up the lore, but it captured the feeling of fighting an already lost battle perfectly.

Each time a member of Noble died it felt legitimately bad (especially Jorge), right down to the last few minutes with Lone Wolf.

If it was re-written to be lore-friendly, I think it'd get a lot more love.
