fuck, I hate farming for gems so much. Really dreading having to farm layer 3 watchdog for my fire gems

wooow fuck this stupid gatling gun hunter in the cave at the end of the river of blood in Hunter's Nightmare. It is dark as fuck in there so I can't see to parry, and the bastard keeps healing everytime I get close to killing him. The whole time he spams his minigun until I have to literally stun him out of it with a melee attack.

and the run to get over to him is ridiculous, from either lantern. So many guys with firearms that it's not even safe to run til they're all dead

Just moving into the world of Chalice Dungeons and finding some bits confusing.

So I know root chalices are random and normal ones arent. You find Chalices and items for the ritual in dungeons etc

So I have done the first few Pthumeru ones which seem to save my progress. However I have seen people mentioning farming dungeons to get certain loot/gems. How is this done, do root dungeons respawn everything or something? or do you have to remove, re-create the dungeon to redo it?

To create someone elses dungeon to get certain stuff using the glyph password code, do I first need to create the same type of dungeon?

People farm for gems by accessing certain glyphs for FRC Ihyll, Lower Loran, or Isz. Certain bosses drop certain gems, and you basically farm for the right ones. A glyph dungeon will always be the same. EX: pwmf22gu will always have the exact same layout and bosses.
Once you get your glyph, and depending if you're savescumming or not (usually Layer 3/4 bosses), you can tear down the chalice and recreate it.
You need to create an FRC Lower Loran/Isz/Ihyll to access all FRC glyphs.

best solution is to have someone else help you through the chalice dungeon, grab some easy to get OP gems, slap them onto your weapon, and then steam roll literally fucking anything in a few hits when you get summoned by someone. Co-op enough bosses and learn their movesets and you'll get good by extension.

Also, has anyone actually been able to get 27.2% fire radials and 26.2% fire triangles from the various watcher bosses or no? I've been farming them for multiple hours now and it's not like it's a hard farm, just super fucking boring. Closest thing I got was a 25% fire triangle, but it had weapon dura down out the ass which is a deal breaker for me. Only thing I'd really consider using is stam consumption up and kin damage down.

To put in in perspective, the best gems in the base game are +18%, the best gems from farming Winter Lanterns are +22%, and the best (exceptionally rare) gems from chalices are +27%. The real piss-off is that in a FRC dungeon, you'll get billion of gems from every monster, but only the ones from bosses are better than Winter Lantern gems. You can savescum and use glyphs to get the best gems quickly, but if you're just rolling the dice generating random dungeons, it can take forever to get anything good.
So no, it's not a huge difference, but if you enjoy spelunking the gems are a nice bonus.

Personally I used it 50/50. For normal mobs I used it 1h, and for stronger enemies I used it 2H and launched beams. Your bullet count is just too limited to use all the time.

Trick weapons are a great idea and make this game really stand out. Having few but well designed weapons each with a different feature(s) makes each weapon so much more complex. I do like the two extremes of DaS2 and BB on this issue but BB's way is still the best.
