seriously I wanna use illusion for something not sneaky for once but the only ways to be offensive in Skyrim are to be a destruction or conjuration mage in terms of using magic it makes me a sad little lad.

Well, have you modded your game at all, yet, or are you starting from scratch? If from scratch, start with the unofficial patches, memory/crash fixes, SKSE, and SkyUI. After that, body mods and textures for them, then general texture packs of resolution appropriate to the power of your rig.

Past that, play for a bit and figure out what you want changed/fixed, see if there's mods to do so, and work from there.

That's not unique to Oblivion and Skyrim. In Morrowind you could rise to Archmagister of House Telvanni and Archmage of the Vvardenfell Mage's Guild for instance, all while being a high ranking member of the Tribunal Temple and the Imperial Cult.

You can become an omnipotent being in morrowind with alchemy alone, what are you on about? Even without those "features" you can easily become a supreme archemagewarriorthief, and/or be a master of many factions at once, if you aren't talking about actual gameplay and more about roleplaying.
And if it's not about vanillas then skyrim (and to some extent even oblivion) is much more better skeleton to build a decent game which actually feels like rpg with character progression and limits to what you can and can't do at once. Until late-late game for sure, and to get there it would take hundreds and hundreds of hours on single character, and that's only because there is technically no level cap now, if there were then all100skills char in skyrim would feel much weaker than 100skills char in morr/oblv because of no perks.
The only thing that morrowind does right is handcrafted world, lore and maybe design (for it's time). The rest is pure nostalgia.

General: Morrowloot Ultimate Simplified, PermaZONES static hardcore, Frostfall, Ordinator, & World's Dawn. No fast travel allowed, so use something like Complete Fast Travel Overhaul too.

Combat: Vigor, Combat Evolved, Ultimate Combat, TK Dodge, Lock-On, Attack Commitment, & Souls QuickMenu. If your computer can handle it, I also recommend SkySouls but you will run into a lot of problems if you have framerate issues as is.

Pretty satisfied with the outcome of these working together. Just changing the way that Skyrim's combat plays out goes a long way for me.

So reading the reviews for Fuz Ro D-oh, which is apparently required for those death alternative mods and a bunch of other good ones, it seems like a lot of people mention a recurring problem where all dialogue in the game is muted. Characters still move their lips but no sound comes out; all dialogue is completely silent. And some say that even uninstalling Fuz Ro D-oh doesn't fix it.

What are the odds that it would happen if I tried to use the mod? I mean, if it's so popular then this "all dialogue is muted" problem they keep mentioning can't be that common, right?

The magic system for Morrowind continues to have significant advantages over both Oblivion and Skyrim, as does the enchanting system. And alchemy abuse is still a problem in vanilla Skyrim, they never solved it. There are also lots of little things in terms of quest design where Morrowind can be said to have done better than Oblivion and Skyrim.

I mean you're not wrong that there's a lot of people just refusing to accept anything new, just look at how Oblivion was more or less despised up till the moment of Skyrim's release, but there are things that the previous games legitimately did better too.

I'm finishing up my loadout, I use morrowloot ultimate now (not simplified), would you suggest to still install some kind of permazones or will it be challenging and varied as is? I never tried morrowloot before so I don't really know what I'm getting into. Worlds dawn seems interesting, haven't seen this one before, guess will grab.
And the main question is, how am I supposed to make all those different combat mods work together? I see you've got a bunch, I've currently got SkyRe_combat, Ultimate Combat and Combat Evolved, with some tweaks like Combat Behavior Improved and Attack Commitment. Ah, core gameplay mods. I dont use much of those cause I enjoy the combo I use: Vigor, TK Dodge, Mortal Enemies, Violens, Ordinatior and Revenge of the Enemies.

I also use Skyrim Immersive Creatures, aswell as a few other creatur mods, to add more variaty to what I run into.

I am using Diverse Dragons to add more variety but I'm sorry to say I can't give you much insight since I haven't really fought any dragons yet. I imagine they are suitably hard. Vigor does a lot on its own to punish you for your mistakes, don't see why it'd be any different for dragons.

I also use SIC along with the High Level Enemies patch. Recommended by the PermaZONES guy I believe.

As long as you have a mod that reduces or eliminates turning while attacking. I was shocked by how different everything felt just changing that small part of combat.

I can kind of understand how they thought it would be interesting. I mean people have been telling them they wanted that "anyone can die" feeling back since Morrowind. So I can see how they would be confused and not quite get that the players wanted to be in control of it, and of course if that's what they were going for they still fucked it up with immortal NPCs but whatever.

It's just how stupid the npcs are when a dragon or vampire attacks.

The AI is made in which if they are even subtly touched hostilely or there's a threat, they all try to fight.

The shop keeper that deals food shouldn't try to fight a legendary dragon.

It's understandable for adventurers in the town or last line of defense but once the vampires just rando into the city gates. Everyone and their dog just guns it towards the vampire that can obviously kick their ass.

Greymane-obachan shouldn't try to take on a dragon.

Ah, okay. I've never used child mods so I didn't realize the limitations. Wasn't trying to shit on their characters; they're still the best modded kids I've seen.
