Are you throwing away the cursed weapon after reloading thinking that you can save rift crystals that way? If you don't like the result you have to accept it or you will always get the same thing. On the one hand, he IS obnoxious as fuck. Unless I've deliberately set out to hunt him, I just ditch his ass. He's probably gonna clip one of my pawns anyhow, and if I felt like sending out three stars with a bodybag I'd brine a bitch. Really just an overall groove kill, like I'm just minding my business delving BBI then this asshole shows up.

On the other hand, there's always at least one enemy that'll make me sit the fuck up and pay attention no matter how OP I get. That's actually kinda nice once you cap at L200 and are just farming rings/mats/armor-effects.

if it makes you feel any better it took me close to 100 level 3 novelties to get a single warrior skill ring (and it was crap, I have not gotten warrior skill rings since then), and close to 500 level 3 weapons (I lost count so it may have been many more) to get a single Bitter End

I beat Daimon's second form just now and I'm a bit perplexed. Is he supposed to be a sandbag? He attacked me like 8 times during the fight and all of the attacks were piss easy to dodge. The only reason he 'sucks' is if you're melee and sometimes you get caught by something you literally couldn't do anything about, otherwise you're just hanging on mashing light attack on his face with the appropriate augments.

It's really not, play MA, or Ranger, or Strider... it's easy.

Does Warrior ever get better? It's fun as fuck to just stand there, never getting staggered, and just sweeping your sword through the enemie. The lack of useful skills is getting on my nerves though, nothing so far (vocation level 6) does more damage than just simply attacking.
I'll probably just go try an Assassin next or run through the rest of the game as a Sorceror
Also, how do I beat an armored cyclops as a Warrior? I can make it take its helmet off, but clinging to its head to attack its eye really isn't my specialty, and I can't attack its legs without bouncing off the armor

It's obnoxious as a Warrior because of the stun resist. Everything else is fine, in BBI 2.0 the damage doesn't change between normal/hard so it's just stamina drain and stun resist.

Pawns are not affected by Hard Mode. If you want to figure out the damage difference without reverting to normal mode, just have the same enemy hit you and your pawn with the same attack and count the difference in damage after defense calculation.

It really is, I remember spending over an hour on the gazer because there were a couple tentacles on it's back that my pawns simply refused to destroy, so it never summoned the great cannon thing. I had to just on it and destroy them myself. There was one that seemed to be bugged though and I couldn't damage it so I that point I just said fuck it, jumped into it's mouth and started pummeling the eye. Felt badass, but I never want to have to deal with that shit again.

I actually did myself, back in January. Got some shit over it since I tested 1.0 and just assumed 2.0, so later I went to verify 2.0 and found no damage difference.

Basically I wound up backing up my save, having a go at the first room in hard then restoring my game to have a go at the same room on normal. Then repeating a few times to be sure. I found wolves were the best to test on, since all they do is a lunge biting attack the drag attack and a poison.

Climb on their back near their neck and wait til they start looking around then jump off and they will reach back to try and grab where you were but end up grabbing their helmet off instead.

Scather / Util or Mitigator or Challenger is usually the best for melee oriented Vocations. Can't really comment on Mage / Sorcerer pawns as I've never had one.

Scather/Challenger. They're good with damage and they can survive on their own if you don't bother putting skills for their shield (they'll perfect block more with no shield skills).
>Strider
Scather/Challenger. Striders are the climbing class so you want them dealing with the boss monsters. Because they've got a bow, Challenger's a good secondary so they'll take out any problematic enemies.
>Mage
Medicant/Nexus. Mages are really only good for healbots. They go great with Legion's Might and the Magnanimous Cloak. If you want damage, have them go Sorcerer.
>Warrior
Scather/Challenger. Basically Fighter except they don't block the hits so much as just take them and let their bigass HP pool suck it up.
>Ranger
Challenger/Mitigator. They're the best class for dealing with problematic enemies and Mitigator will let them clean up anything left over while other Pawns keep the bosses busy.

Mitigator/Challenger. Mitigator causes Sorc Pawns to focus on AoE spells like Bolide and said abilities also make them great for taking out problematic enemies. Guardian's also a good Secondary if you're a Ranger/Sorcerer yourself because then they'll still by you and sync up.

The above are the best for pretty much 99.9% of the game. However, once your Pawn's bestiary is mostly filled out, bump your Primary to your Secondary, make your Secondary a Tertiary, and make Utilitarian your Primary. Utilitarian's the inclination that most everyone passes over because it relies on Bestiary knowledge which naturally means it's fucking awful at first. It also relies on you not shutting your Pawn up because Utilitarians work via Pawn to Pawn communication (seriously).

A group of Utilitarian Primary Pawns with high knowledge will shitroll anything in the game except Death. You could go fight Daimon, walk away from the Moniter/TV, go make a sandwich, and he'll more than likely be dead by the time you get back.

Util Pawns are crazy once they git gud.

The only quests that expire due to time are the non-essential NPC escort quests that show up on the boards. If you don't complete them in a few days they disappear for good. You just skipped over a quest line by going to the Pawn Guild before looking for Quina.

I'm also a dark souls fan and I just started with this game. It's extremely different, despite the visual similarities. It doesn't have the grim, desolate nature of souls games, and it's a lot more alive and companion-focused.

As far as physical bosses go, I want them to climb face and use thousand kisses. Both classes can do that, but ranger gets a bigger bow and tenfold.
