How the fuck do you use Ion?
I get that the laser is the main damage tool, but if I spend all my energy on it I can't shield off shit like Volley cores.
I can't ever seem to be in a favorable position against Tones, and I never seem to be able to fight titans I might do better against, like Northstar and Legion.

Splitting the shots using mines and the shield consumes energy.ion is all about managing energy. If you're far enough use the shoulder lazer. When fighting northstar try to be close and move as much as possible. And when fighting legion all you'll need is your vortex shield since most are too stupid to stop shooting and return their shots try to be smart about when to stop blocking to return fire. And you're better off running away from volley cores since vortex shield won't do shit for those

This game has awful balance. It's just like Infinity Ward's CoDs where there's only like 1 or 2 things per category worth using.

The ability of a Scorch to escape from a phase shift nuclear ejecting Ronin is rather remarkable. Plus, if you book it immediately the Ronin has to pretty much guess which direction you'll go.

Very situational; remember that you can toss out your canisters during anything else, such as when your shield is up (your Q). learn to position, how to lob thermite... etc. If you play real aggressive, you can melt titans; but sometimes they can just back-pedal. Nope. We need developers like Respawn to properly optimize their games in the first place, since this game uses a very shitty and glintzy version of Source.

We also need developers that can at least keep their development team on the project after launch for a couple of months to iron out any technical and design issues that might be arise after the launch hype.

But hey, people still throw their moneys at these scammers because that 2 year development cycle was spent wisely on 20hz tick rate servers, shitty optimization, a fucking reskin of the same game with re-worked features and a 4 hour (but incredible nonetheless) single player campaign, sold at the great standard price of 60 buckaroos/ayyros etc, JUST A WEEK AFTER the release of one of the biggest franchise title in modern history.

Yeah, best of luck with those Advocate Gift drops, but do remember to buy the DLC's because Respawn's such a nice company for giving you some Shutterstock type deal for some jpegs and some texture variation at only 3.99!

With 3 dashes they take 24 seconds to recharge total, at 8 seconds each.

Do keep in my for Ronin, using his sword core with turbo engine allows you to slip out of any situation and haul your ass to the other side of the map if needed. There's also some pretty good use to be made out of being able to literally dash around a titan and keep out of their line of fire during your core duration. Northstar I'd honestly never run turbo engine on.

The Wingman elite is the better weapon simply because you don't ever have to go into ADS with it, and it has overall much higher damage combined with much more stretched out damage drop-off. Double-tapping isn't hard, so the loss of the easy-mode one-tap is hardly worth considering.

With so many bots on the map and their variety it feels like a real waste not being able to use them more. I would love a gadget that replaces the primary weapon but lets you control the AI around. Either some chip that hacks them and makes them follow you or some tablet that you can pull out and direct some of the forces to somewhere on the map.

Northstar not being hitscan when Ion is allowed to be will mean that she will be eternally outshadowed in the role by a Titan that has so many other good things going for it. For Scorch take the Shield buff and then dash for a dash. Apply spicy fist liberally to all enemies. Your gas canisters can be shot at any time even while you are holding your shield up and they do more damage when they first ignite but they burn for a while. You want to position them behind enemies so they burn running away from your spicy fist or they run into your fist. The gas does stack so 2 does more damage but your fist is your main weapon. Flame core is just walk up behind and smash the ground and fuck everything up. If you bait and back off you can do a lot of damage around corners and then fist to finish but you will mainly be getting fucked up at range and some fights you just gotta burn one, execute, and then flame core and eject. It's mainly just the shield burning people and catching people standing in your gas and igniting it and then spicy fist. Oh and you kill grunts and reapers super easily with your gas and gun.

Northstar pls since I main her, scorch is just fun so I play a shit ton of him.

I normally play Northstar, but got Ion to almost gen 3. Cloak RDDT sniping with the hitscan Ion beam causes so much salt and hackusation its unreal. They would probably know how easy it was if they weren't shitters and played anything other than tone and legion. Strangely enough never got a hackusation while sniping pilots cross map and mid air with Northstar though.

Thats the reason I'm US west coast so the Salt Lake City data center and normally every match I have has minimum 2 RDDTs and the one on your team is always trash and the other teams are super try hard meta fags. If you don't get RDDTs you get ADV and maybe some F3 and random groups but every match is normally a shit tone of RDDT and ADV.

So I think I've got the straight slide hopping technique down.

So I've been trying to pepper in some directional movement.
Like, curving to the left and the right. And I just can't get the hang of it.

There's too much to press in rhythm, and I end up fumbling and crouching/jumping too early when trying to add A or D into the mix...

And then when I do get it all right, it feels like pressing A or D just completely removes my momentum...
I knew how to bunnyhop and curve and shit just fine in CS but this slide thing is rally throwing me off

After a jump, do I need to enter the slide immediately, or can I leave some air room to try and get better at curving?

Legion is basically just using long range mode and do continuous DPS, as well as using Hidden Compartment to have two power shots, which do insane dmg long ranged mode.
Dash is a must, and if you come up close to a group of titans I'd say Short Range Power Shot does insane dmg to the lot of them.

Basically, open up with a Power Shot in the crit spot, spray up the entire mag except the last few bullets and use them for your second Power Shot. By the time you reload, you've got another power shot, fire and repeat.
If something comes up close, usually I still have long range mode and just power shot into their crit spots, Scorch has such a huge critspot anyway, otherwise Short Range can be useful there.

Also, use your shield wisely. You cannot melee and you're locked into ADS (and walking slowly) until the shield runs out. You can bypass this by reloading, meaning that if you're ina bad spot with the shield up, reload while facing the enemy and the shield still catches most fire, but you can walk/sprint away during the animation anyway.

Only issue I have with that is that it can only record at 30 or 60 fps, and while recording it limits your fps to whatever you record as.

Meaning my 120 fps becomes 60 if I want to record...
