Hi, /pg/. I have a problem that's not directly related to Persona games/manga, but I don't think /v/ or /smtg/ know enough about Persona to help me out.

I know that this is going to sound incredibly autistic, but I cannot function in social settings unless I imagine myself as a Persona character. No, I don't go around saying "senpai, chan, kun, san" or try to summon personas or anything. I just feel myself with the overall demeanor of a Persona character. I can pass off as a normie well with this.

I choose Persona characters that already compliment my personality. My main 3 are MC (When I'm feeling quiet but confident), Yu (When I'm feeling a bit smug/cocky) and Joker (When I'm feeling a bit edgy). I also have a rotating list of Persona characters that I can use. I've done Brown, Elly, Jun, Junpei, Teddie, Katsuya, etc...

But my problem is, I have a Christmas party with my co-workers tonight, and I'm not sure which Persona character I should be. I want to be a bit more outgoing and talkative than usual, but not TOO much. I had a bad experience with Tatsuya this spring, when I got a bit TOO confident, so I don't want to use him. I'd like to try a Persona 5 character, but I'm not sure which once. I like Yusuke, but I feel like he would make me come across as an autist. I was actually thinking about Goro, but his chances of being in a new game hurts him a bit.

Do you guys have any ideas for a Persona character that would be sociable and confident, but not too much so?

I don't know if it was good as a movie, but those characters in there sure weren't the ones in P3. Most of them even actively contradict their game personalities. Suicidal Aigis and Yukari were especially bad, followed by Junpei wanting to be punched by thugs.
They just went for cheap drama, and the default Aigis pandering quota since she appeared in the movies.

I think it's hard to be objective about a cast being good or bad since things like whether the group dynamic works for you or whether you really love/hate anyone in particular is going to be different for everybody. Plus, P5 hasn't had the benefit of time and nostalgia to endear you to the characters so you have to keep that in mind.

It's not Atlus USA's job to change things to be more fitting in their eyes. Cooperation isn't meant to sound befitting of the prison/thieves theme. It's just meant to be a new name in substitute of "Community" to reinforce the fact that it's not the exact same feature as past games. All this change is doing is making Atlus USA redo elements of the UI so they now say Confidant, and as they've proved thus far - they don't have jack shit for competent graphic designers so it won't end well.
I bet you now that in P6 they'll call them Co-ops again, and Atlus USA won't be able to call them Confidants because it won't fit with the game like it does in P5. It's just a silly "it adds flavor lol" choice, like changing Navi to Oracle.

you know what sucks about Futaba? she doesn't even take over fully as navi once she joins. Morgana is still the coach of the team, and when you look at enemy weaknesses makoto is the strategist of the team still as she has been since she joins. and before futaba joins your minimap is kept track of just fine so it's not like that's her job.

so besides the occasional buff and the occasional mementos floor map discovery futaba doesn't do much but shitpost during battle while in her UFO.

Confidants doesn't flow better than co-ops at all. I wouldn't mind the change if it was actually for something better, and I think changing Navi to Oracle was actually a good idea. There is no way to shorten it properly (Confs?), it doesn't work well in a sentence ("I have finished this confidant") and it's just awkward in general. Co-op is also more neutral and will most likely be reused in P6, while Confidant just sort of fits P5 but even then not really since you don't tell "confidants" that Potter is a part of PTs and they figure it out on their own.
