I've watched some dude play wood elves on twitch as Orion. Wood wraiths and treekin required only gold. Hawk riders required an amber on top of their gold upkeep.
I guess all top tier units cost amber regardless of who your starting LL is.

I've been getting a lot of enjoyment out of it. but you have to be ready for a long ride with it.

Whats in the game feels quite good but it does need some more time/tweaking. The magic system and siege battles in particular stand out for me as being lacking.

Steam has a standard release date for every game if I remember correctly. Vanilla base game was released about 3-4 hours earlier.

Lore of Metal is very underpowered because only a few of the spells does something. Because of this you get a lot of points to spend on other things so Gelt actually can be a good support/buff lord.

Just put points into every unit improvement skill and some of the magic buffs. '

Would recommend using a mod that buffs magic though.

One of the two timers is most likely incorrect. It doesn't make sense to push two different updates two hours apart when you can just get everything done in one download.

DLC has pretty consistently dropped at 4PM GMT so the earlier timer is most likely correct.

Don't bother at all with Searing Doom, Bombardment spells have broken hit-detection and even hitting directly on a low-armor unit it will do close to actual, literal no damage.

Golden Hounds is good to disrupt a formation, but like all random vortexes it requires luck to be effective

The armor debuff is probably your most useful bread-and-butter spell, cast that shit out on the regular at whatever you need to die most at the moment.
