You're only competing for medals against the other damage-dealers on your team. In a balanced 2/2/2 team, that's two DPS, and maybe one or both of the tanks in the running for the elims - e.g., you as 76 shoot a quick burst at a Roadhog, then turn around to deal with a Pharah. Meanwhile your Reaper teammate jumps in and hits Roadhog for 550 damage and kills him. Reaper dealt most damage, but has only 1 elim to your 2. You didn't post what heroes you play, but there are a lot of heroes with AOE damage who can get high elims while contributing jack shit. The more DPS characters you have, the less the medals mean, since you need to contribute proportionately less to each one, e.g., you shoot a Roadhog a few times and Reaper mops him up; you turn and shoot Pharah once but McCree already put two body shots in her. 'gratz, now you have 2 elims for 100 damage whereas in a balanced team you'd need closer to 500 or 1,100 damage.

Rather than complain about losing, consider figuring out why your team is losing. Do you trickle in? Do you lack sustain (tanks) or healing (supports)? Did you overextend?

Then fix it.

Been playing this for a few months, reached diamond, and I've been wondering - Does this game have no room for "sick plays"?

etc, it's all literally "press Q" to get a quadkill. Other shooters you see a guy take down 4 guys, he's usually having to dodge, aim, manage his ammo, pull out his secondary, go for the melee, etc.

Long cooldowns, and delays between cloaking and accelerating, decloaking and shooting. Her spread is also a big deal, but expect Blizz to tinker with those cooldowns and delays to make her combos smoother before they muck with her spread. She's not meant to replace a main DPS, in the same way that Genji or Tracer can't replace McCree or 76.

This season is my least favorite season

I played 76 in more games more consistantly, but those games were very short. When we already had 2 DPS I would switch to Zen and we struggled. Ironically, when I would say "fuck it" and switch back to 76, we'd start winning. Such is life in gold.

Zarya's fun against that comp. Free charge, best tank hitbox and movement speed, easier to grab people into ults (shooting at your feet to avoid D.Va eating it), very fast ult charging, you can punish Reinhardt firestrikes, you make D.Va completely useless, save people from hooks, if you have a bit of charge and a barrier you can always a 1v1 any member of their team.
