Have the games shortcuts been patched? I watched a speedrun of the game which only took an hour and 12 mins, dlc included. The amount of shortcuts that let you skip a good chunk of areas is pretty incredible, the more notable one being in old Yharnam.

Just started the game three or so days ago and beat it Beat Gehrman, but didn't get the umbilical cords. Also, didn't have the DLC at the time. The game's super good, and I'm really enjoying exploring and reading up on the lore.

I only did the Pthumeria dungeon on the first go-through since I didn't think I'd have a bloodborne machine long enough to get through (bought the game for 15 bucks, borrowed a PS4, and then ended up buying the DLC because I liked it so much). Lecture Building is accessible right after Amelia if you use the Tonsil Stone. Amygdala in the Nightmare Frontier drops Ailing Loran Chalice, Ebrietas drops Great Isz. After completing a dungeon you'll usually have the next chalice, roots and Sinister Chalices aren't necessary. There's a guide in the OP you could look at.

I bought a Ps4 with BB on Black Friday and so far i'm having a blast, i'm already at Gherman and got my 3 umbilical cords to get the bossfight but first i wanted to do the DLC before finishing the game.
I started waste of skin because i do my 1st playthroughs on souls games like that but right now i'm on Ludwig and he's wrecking my shit so fucking hard that i rarely get to the 2nd phase. Any of you guys have tips or comments so i can defeat him?
Also my build right now is pic related so some criticism would be pretty good so i can get my mind around this game and get good at it also.

You should never get over 20 END and 20 it's actually pretty hight, 15 would have been alright, unlike dark souls, 40 is not the cap, so you could have reached 50/50, or at least 50/45 without a problem.

Vitamin should be 45 and always cruel fate if you aren't using guns for damage.

Just takes time to get used to his attacks. You'll get there eventually. I like to hang out in front of him and then dodge in after he swings and attack his flank. Any serrated weapons (saw cleaver, beast cutter, saw spear, whirligig) rape face, so if you are really struggling you can try those out.

Watch the timing of your dodges. You need to wait a bit. I've always done better staying close to him and dodging to get behind him. Only get a few hits in, wait until he does is forward AoE before draining your stamina bar on his ass.


Don't listen to these autists, you still get end gains up until 40. 20 is some meta bullshit kobra started.

Build advice: Endurance rarely ever needs to go above 20 in Bloodborne, and most of the time it can go lower than that. Very few things in the game use enough stamina to need more, and you regain it so fast anyway that you really shouldn't bother.

Damage stats softcap first at 25 and then harder at 50. 40/40 is considered suboptimal in almost every case. Ludwig's is a bit of an outlier in that regard, since it's the only weapon in the game that scales equally off of strength and skill.

Vitality should be at around 40-50, depending on how much you want/need/can afford for your build. A lot of my builds end up at either 41 or 45, because those get you up to 1700 and 1800 health, respectively.

As far as your boss troubles go, one of the tricks to remember is to always dodge into swipes. Dodging away in Bloodborne often gets you punished. Beyond that it's just learning his tells and when it's safe to go in for an attack.

The whole 20 end thing isn't about stamina gains, it's that more than 20 end is just usually not worth it, considering how Bloodborne is designed. Everything uses so little stamina, and it regens so fast. Plus, there's runes to up it further.

I too got a ps4 and BB on Black Friday. I'm only at the Nightmare Frontier and i haven't beaten Rom yet. I'm currently using the Wheel, Ludwig's HS as an alt, with the default hunter pistol for parries and the Flamecaster.
How is my build looking so far?

Stamina IS important, it's just that it's a waste spending levels on it.

It's impossible to boost damage via runes, so spending points on END instead of damage stats is a bad idea. Health can be boosted by runes, but not as much as stamina.

If you are stopping at a certain meta-level, then levels are your most precious resource since you are limiting yourself to a specific number. Plus respeccing is impossible, so you want to spend levels on stuff you will always be using.

By all means level END, but only do it after you've gotten every other stat to where you want it. Sacrificing 5 points of VIT for 5 of end isn't worth it, since a 20% stamina rune will cover the deficit better than a 15% health rune.

Start with Military Veteran or Cruel Fate, aim for 25/25 Str/Skl then pump either to 50. Vit should be 40-50, End base-20 with at least one Stamina Rune. 15-18 Arc if you start with Cruel Fate. Don't come back until you've completed the game so you're not spoiled and solo every boss at least once or twice before summoning. Most Old Hunter/NPC summons are pretty shit.

Finally got the Platinum. It's been an amazing journey with my favorite From game. I find it funny how my first play through was about 40 hours long. Then last night I started new to get the one ending I didn't get and finished in 4 hours. Brilliant.

All other bosses fit the theme, one way or the other. But Paarl looks and fights like any Dark Souls boss rather. Like, Paarl doesn't even belong in BB whatsoever.

It's a huge animated beast of bone with blue lightning dancing across its body. Sure, it's not on the same level as, say, Ebrietas, but I think it's still an interesting design.

Before Rakuyo, I had used Blade of Mercy, it's got good skaling with SKL too. But to get that as early as possible I failed Eileen's quest.

If you don't want to do that, use whatever seems best (rifle spear maybe? I didn't liked it so I won't recommend it) untill you get to it. Early in game I couldn't find any SKL based weapons what I considered "good" besides that.

Edge saber is one of the very few reasons to make a pure skil build. It's also fast as fuck and has a much longer hitbox on the dirk than it lets on, try buffing it to see what I mean. It's incredibly fun, and if you ever do pvp it shreds people very quickly. Upgrade both honestly, but definitely give it a try.

Well, the good news is you're almost there. Pthumeru Ihyll, Lower Loran, and Isz are where you will find overpowered cursed gems. Without the use of glyphs it will be hard to farm, but you need to make a chalice with a fetid, rotted, and cursed offering. Honestly, I would go online and use glyphs, otherwise you will need to collect ritual material again and again, and you will have higly sub optimal dungeons.

There are actual values associated with the scalings, so the letters are just general approximations. You can find more info about it in the pastebin above, and there's a link right at the top leading to all the numerical information for each weapon.
You can add scaling of a particular attribute to a weapon by applying a scaling gem. But, Cold (Arcane) and Heavy (Strength) Abyssals are the only ones ever worth going for, as Skill and Bloodtinge scaling gems don't have +65 variants.
It works by, for example, adding a +.65 value to a weapon's attribute scaling. If it's naturally 1, it will be 1.65. Etc.

Bloodtinge boosts firearm damage, and damage from particular Bloodtinge weapons (Bloodletter, Chikage, and Bowblade tricked forms only).

The untricked r2s are probably among the 3 best attacks in the game(up there with saw l1s and wheel quickstep r1). ARC boosts arcane, fire and bolt damage. Basically if it's elemental then ARC boosts it.

There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule, so even if a weapon says it has ARC or BLT scaling, remember that they only boost relevent damage types, and if that weapon deals 0 of that damage type then no matter what % you boost it by, it will still be 0.

cruel fate is good because it has lowest starting BLT, which is a stat many build's ignore. Since it's usually a "all or nothing" type stat.

I think I'll make a SKL based build and I got the idea to make him kinda look like Simon Belmont but I don't like how the long hair on males look in this game

Whenever I'm too long at a character creator I kinda lose my ability to see what's wrong with a face.

What the fuck should I use insight for? I got 83 of the damn things and I can't get five feet in frenzy town USAhrnum without burning through an entire stack of blood vials
Fire and bolt paper are out of the question because I am using both the tarus and the boom hammer, and I didn't use alluring skulls in Dark Souls I ain't using blood cocktails. Fuck that fight your foe head-on.
Are Shaman Bone Blades any good? Is it like the undead rapport pyromancy?

SBBs are situational, and fun when they go well.

But you should be buying upgrade materials, so you can upgrade weapons that aren't the tonitrus and the boom hammer. You know, good weapons.

Shaman bone blades can't be bought with echoes. They have a terrible drop rate from brainsuckers only, iirc, and if you fuck up, those guys drain your insight anyway. They're useful against some terrible enemies like the dlc shark guys and some chalice dudes, and they are hilarious against some bosses like the celestial emissary.

Since you have so much stocked up though, you should buy a blood rock for 60 though.
