If the anime is halfway decent, Dies Irae will probably become a huge title in the West as it has everything it needs to take off. However no matter how popular Dies Irae becomes, it won't help anyone sell more titles like Tokyo Babel.

The main routes could have been better, only Yuela's route really kept me interested. Emilita's route was okay storywise, but the character didn't do anything for me. Also towards the end the route seemed to be more about Leguna. Serawi was my favorite girl, but her route sucked.

It's the idea that the Japanese market has about Steam, it's not necessarily the case especially for a title like Dies Irae. G-Senjou went through with that because of the Japanese developer, and Sharin initially had a plan to cut out the music and Gallary mode to make the game cheaper (and sell them at a premium). Both the first Grisaia and Clannad sold fine at a higher price point, and once the anime is out Dies Irae would sell fine at a $50 base price as well without breaking it into parts.

So how much are you guys going to back up DI for? Probably doing the 65$ tier myself.

Only started reading the first story of Trianthology so I'll save my final judgement. I'd say it's great so far and cannot wait to get into R07's part. I find the hikikomori theme very interesting and doesn't surprise me that the Japanese reject this work.
Higanbana dealt with bullying with use of "fantasy" and yokai in a creepy but funny way. Trianthology really touches some nerves over there while getting further away from the magic fantasy like RGS already did. And let's not forget that Rose Gun Days already touched some nerves with the nationalism subject. No surprise that fans of Umineko -with its "magic"- , and to a lesser degree of Higurashi -with its crazy unreality and conspiration theories-, aren't much interested in it.
