So i've been following the guide to unlink my nnid, but when i hex edit the values to 00 on my backup and try to load it, the back up fails. The guide seems to be a bit outdated anyway, using filenames from older versions. Does it matter if im using Hourglass9 or do I HAVE to use Decrypt9?

I've got error code 002-0102. I'm pretty sure this is just a console ban and not an eshop/nnid ban.

If I decide to unban my 3ds using a public friendcodeseed will I lose my current friends list?

What other stuff could I be losing in the process?

I'm backing up my NAND right now (I think I already backed it up when I got Luma in the first place but better safe than sorry). Is there anything I should do that's not in the guide to increase my chances? With a9lh, you can update to the latest system update. Downgrading is only to install a9lh.

If you're not using Nightly 178, do so. Also, update the native firm for cakes (firmware.bin and cetk)

okay so this stupid step is bugged on 2.1.0 when installing a9lh:

What exactly holds the hinges of a 3DS together, anyway? I've googled a few teardowns and they show that the hinge is made up of two different top shell pieces (same as the GBA SP), but they don't show what exactly holds it togehter.

I ask because there's a small crack in my hinge. It runs approximately the length of the indentation which lets the system close over the nub and ends just shy (no more than two mm) of the point of articulation between the two pieces.
