I had issues with mine.
It didn't like Emunand.
The newest CIOS that you can get froze when booting and mounting the thing.
Works with a slightly older CIOS.
Also didn't like ripping disks to it and would freeze.
I think switching to IOS58 for usb support gave better stability.
Also NTFS just shits the bed.
Have to use FAT32 or if you're crazy WBFS.

But that's just me. I'm an idiot and when I went from a USB2.0 mini cruizer to the USB3.0 mini sandisk fit thingy it have me many headaches for days till I could figure it out.

But now it works fine and plays games no prob and I have like 60 wii games on it. (128gb)

You don't understand. You won't lose the titles, which is where most of the game data is, you'll just lose the tickets. The tickets are tiny files that show you can use the content.

The titles are still on your system. Reinstalling a title through a CIA will wipe any previous installation, including the save data.

Actually, now that I think about it, our circumstances are a little different. I was transferring from an A9LH O3DS to a stock N3DS. I may have had to reinstall my tickets because they got deleted for being on a stock system.

My question is, is there anyway to downgrade the version of SmileBasic I get from the eshop (its 3.3.2 by default) in order to have another way to access homebrew w/o the freakyforms cart being constantly in?

i've got a n3dsxl 9.0.0-33e which i'm having trouble with. I had installed homebrew on it before, over a year ago, but i fucked something up and couldn't access it any more. I tried to fix it at the time, but i couldn't and i got frustrated and gave up. Now it's been so long i don't even remember how i fucked it up.

It seems to work fine as far as i can tell, there's no obvious problems or anything with the device, but i've been trying to install homebrew again following the guide at 3ds.guide, and it's not working.

Every single time it goes from the yellow screen to the grey screen, freezes for a few seconds and crashes.

Have i done some kind of irreparable damage, or will it eventually work if i keep trying indefinitely? Is there anything else i can try?

You are confusing me. You don't need firmware (game exploit) to get homebrew launcher. I ran httpwn from the homebrew launcher. It installed properly, but doesn't do what is says (prevent update dialogs) without blocking the ip by my router.

This never happened before. I also just upgrade to a 64 gb microSD.

Also I was able to get one game install, it was about 700MB, all the failed one were over 3GB, not sure if that was part of the cause of error.
