That's just self damage, which for a rollout won't be too big a deal if you get a buff at the start (like I did)
The most significant effect that pyro can have, no matter what the situation, is hitting effective airblasts. Trying to play him otherwise (especially in an open environment like a mid) will just lead you to getting killed if you're against a team that works together in the slightest. Pyro just isn't good at doing damage, don't ever put yourself in that mindset that going pyro for damage in 6s.
There's also the mindgame aspect to it, I'm sure that it could throw off people, make them panic, make them tunnelvision, etc. Even if the pyro doesn't end up doing much, the roamer and scouts could take advantage of this and throw the enemy team off while they're distracted.
The fact that he "has no rollout" (which from what I demonstrated is false even if its slightly slower than demo and possibly soldier) is probably the biggest reason he doesn't ever go mid, on top of him being a weak class in general. Managing a good Det. rollout would eliminate one of the reasons that make pyro a bad mid-class, so in my eyes that's progress to making pyro somewhat less shit.

Either way, that situation is kinda rediculous and I can't see it happen; but if it were to happen it would still be in the pyro's team's favor. You'd be surprised how just being lit on fire can tick some players off real bad.

Just had this game on 2fort where the enemy team had a hacker and they refused to kick him. My team eventually grouped together and one or two people would sacrifice themselves so that others could pass and try to make their way to the hacker. Unfortunately, we still had to deal with the medics overhealing the hacker plus the whole enemy team. We lost, but the teamwork was 10/10.

Anyway, fuck this game and fuck Valve.

Accurate, wrecks sentries and one-shots light classes but requires aiming. Smaller splash damage radius is a big no-no when choking a gate (cart crowds at path or inbetween cap points). Also at long ranges smaller splash radius becomes another weak point as well. That smaller blast radius and faster projectile speed make it fierce at medium range, but a hassle to use at long range. It's good on certain maps where you're gonna have to walk a long distance to get around the enemy.
pl_badwater is a good example since if you cloak out the gate and go through tunnel to get the pack at the end, it'll be about eight seconds. With L'etranger equipped you've got like 14 seconds of invis time, so that's a lot of time to make some decisions, choose/change your disguise, and think to either engage or to go back to their spawn.

I like to use it with the CnD since it lets you walk for about the same amount of time with the stock watch and you can chill without worry of cloak drain if you see a lot of traffic coming your way.

Have you ever been shot behind a wall by a heavy? Have you ever played on a server where you had over 250 ping and shot someone with a hitscan weapon?
