Stage 3 is where I got most of the points from, just hyper up before grabbing the two bees and then counter the two lasers with your laser (6:35) after destroying the green tank/ship/whatever thingy for lots of hitpoints. Don't lose your chain after that.

I don't think that's right. I had heard Mahou Otome pulled them back from the brink and now they're doing well off enough for themselves. At the very least, they're running TV commercials and promotions in Japan, and I don't think that sounds like a company on the verge of bankruptcy.

Many shmup developers have gone on record saying that the genre wasn't profitable back in 2007. I doubt that's improved despite the 360 being such a powerhouse for them.

Bumping with Casper before bed. I just finished playing Streets of Rage Remake, my first attempt on Mania difficulty. It was... tense.

Another regrettably non-shmup related post (I just haven't felt in the mood for them lately). I do hope to get back to streaming Deathsmiles sometime in December. Maybe I'll do that if one of the Mega Man titles gets done early.

Maybe I've spent over 4 hours a day trying to 2-ALL it, but that was worth the wait (or at least the amount of coins I bought to play it).

I don't know what my final score was, cuz the arcade machine resets after 60 sec If you don't press any button and that's happened while the credits were rolling, but I'm pretty sure it was around 360M.

You can save a replay normally in CCWI after using a continue, it isn't like Touhou. The score number attached to the replay will be the score after using a continue, but if you PB'd the score prior to using a continue still gets on the scoreboard.

Oh, no no. I'm not nearly good enough for that. At my best I can maybe just barely 1cc Hard mode. I didn't use any continues on Mania since it was late but (as Blaze) I did the SoR2 route and game over'd on Abadede. His bull-rush punch attack no longer having any startup time is rather terrifying.

Despite being afraid of literally every enemy in the game on Mania, I actually rather liked it. Every enemy actually did feel like some sort of threat that required care to deal with without getting hit, as opposed to lower difficulties where they just kinda walk into your fists most of the time. I wound up just inching my way through all the screens, dealing with as few of them as I could get at a time. I'm probably shit but it kinda worked for a little while.

Just another failed run that ended at the turret wall. ;_;

Actually yes, i deem it impossible to know if you really like a game without proper investment and guwange is only my current fav. Karous,psyvariar revision,gradius 2/gaiden/4,batrider,esprade etcetc i have way over 40 hrs in all of them. Another thing is don't over obsess, progression will come with time so try to just zone out to the grind and focus on the feeling of just playing and executing etc. Make it a part of your daily routine even if just 30 mins/hr and do not think.. feeeeeeeeeeeeeelll as bruce lee would say. Routing is everything build a fucking plan then become tommy resetti until you piece it together and finally be grateful you aren't currently playing mushi original 1.5 max for score, now that's some real relentless cock slapping.

1-ALL - Clearing the first loop on a single credit.
2-ALL - Clearing the first AND second loop on a single credit.

i already played ccwi, then i grew out of pure survival and dropped ccwi after realising that the scoring system is too complex for me. i know the basics, but have no idea how to make my own routes. i used to think ccwi is good for newbies, but it's just not, something with lower difficulty and a very simple scoring system like donpachi is a lot better. or maybe that's just me being a simpleton, i enjoy scoring in games that have very basic systems or none at all.

What Cee meant is that you should use the spread shot to point blank a bunch of enemies and fill up your small counter, then use the lock on laser to cash in once it's high. If you just do the whole point blank spread shot -> lock on chain thing while ignoring the small counter you will get less points in the long run. This is very obvious if you watch a decent replay of the first level up until the midboss. The players will barely use the lock on laser, mostly destroying enemies with the spread shot to fill up the small counter and then getting all their score from destroying a high value target like the midboss with the laser while their counter is high.
