After getting used to it I really like BF1. There are still a lot of bugs they need to pan out. For example, sometimes when you're revived by a medic and you stand up to shoot, you won't be able to do anything, and sometimes your gun will be stuck in the firing animation and the only way to get around it is by switching to your pistol and back. Really infuriating during operations on attackers.

Also, is EA planning to fix that fucked up Italian campaign for Italy? That campfest has got to go.

The best luck I have is with the ground support attack plane. Unless you're one of those faggots who use fighter planes to goomba stomp slower planes, the attack planes pretty much kill everything except tanks.

Rule of thumb: ignore everything in the sky until they you think someone's on your tail. Switch to tail gunner, reck them before they can kill you with their primary weapon. Tail gunner seat can do 100+ behemoth points in damage before it overheats, absolutely ridiculous. What's even worse is how you'll never get a tailgunner pilot (or if you do he's incompetent) so you're having to play musical chairs to kill everything that gets near you. Fighters can one shot you with their goomba stomp shit, BUT the TTK from the tail gunner seat is laughably short against them.

AA guns absolutely rape you even after the nerf. Unless you've memorized every AA gun perfectly, you basically don't have a chance unless they're distracted shooting something else. AA trucks are basically impervious to you, but if the enemy team is wasting a vehicle slot to be an AA camper then w/e their loss.

All of that aside, prioritize huge clumps of enemies and get used to dropping bombs without the sight. On Operations enemies cluster like crazy and unless a tank gibs you or an AA is on you, you can fly right over their heads and drop bombs pretty reliably after having shot some HE in your strafing run. If you fly in third person, the bombs drop animation correlates exactly to where they're dropping so you'll get a feel of how to carpet bomb shit. Also be sure to drop flares just before you bomb so flares don't overshoot marking clusters of bad guys where they're needed.

If for whatever reason AA emplacements are shutting you down completely, last ditch resort is to fly at the top of the skybox and just use the bomb sights to bomb camper emplacements from out of their range. Good luck flying lad.

No they definitely do and the good pilots will still wreck you because their planes are just faster. It's really a matter of whether or not you see them before they're in range. They're most vulnerable when they're almost in range and will get chewed up if you have a competent tail gunner. Another good bit of advice is if you have a friend tail gunning, it may actually be better to just fly without much dodging and soaking up the damage so he has an easier time training down the planes on your tail.

Fighters typically get me when I lost track of them and they divebombed me from above. The darts go fast and I've been tagged when they're several feet above me rather than just getting goomba stomped.

desu the bomber sucks ass because of this. darts will still one shot you and your tail gunner doesn't have near the coverage that an attack plane gunner has. all that said though fighter isn't really as fun because wrecking infantry clusters will never stop being orgasmic.

Gas is useful until you realize it only affects Medics and nobody else. The Assault with a 10-A/Automatico Trench welcomes gas, and the Support holding a BAR Storm doesn't mind having to hipfire hose you down either

I'm only rank 6 Assault about probably 8 hours of playing Assault in total. I really fucking suck man. I don't know what it is about Battlefield 1 that makes me suck at aiming. In BF4 I was good, in Killing Floor 2 I headshot zeds like it was going out of style.

Maybe it is the guns? I've never been huge into shooters anyway, but I've never been terrible. I just think it is the lack of variety and every gun just not being good (at least in my opinion). For instance:

Well I almost never run negative in a game. I typically just barely get more kills than deaths and score on average around 9,000 points in conquest because I always cap since that is about all I can do.

Still, I just feel like I lose half the firefights I get into. They are completely winnable, I just miss all the time.

Yeah I'm about 2 days in so I have some learning to do. Its just the maps are so massive it looks like using anything but a sniper or tank is a waste of time. So what I would do it try to capture a point and hold it but in seconds i'll get overrun by the enemy team and nobody want to pair up or at least use their abilities.

You can kill at mediumish range by pinning the trigger on the auto, just trust in its tiny spread. If they're far enough that you think you should ADS, they're not worth engaging.

On the contrary, ADS with shotguns if you're not within about 10m or so, as it actually helps. Or maybe it's the placebo effect because my pellets always go everywhere but center mass when I hipfire beyond about that range.

The Hellriegel is monstrous. It doesn't do a great job past 25m or so without careful fire, but don't be fooled by the wider hipfire reticule - spray niggas and they'll drop, it's disgusting. It's not amazing against the auto and shotties, obviously, but it absolutely ruins just about anyone else. Flank constantly and it really comes into its own.

Forget convenient cover and pathways.. Use everything. Trees, pillars, rocks, elevation etc. Always plan the next bit you're going to hide behind.. It helps to always have an idea what direction enemies are likely going to come from as well.

It's very different from BF3/4.

There isn't a long-hard grind to get the weapons you want. Instead it's a simple system where you can level each individual class for guns, you don't have to farm each individual weapon to get attachments.

It's quite similar to Battlefront, though. If you *hated* that, you'll feel a little bit of the same with BF1. It's a hit or miss.
