My only mistake was updating past 9.2. I updated past 9.9 because I knew it was a meme since the beginning. The people who were saying it were gbatemp kiddies (Pingo?) who didn't know shit and clearly didn't have anything to show either. 9.9 was a problem if anything since it's where the browser bullshit came around and we didn't know the date exploit at the time.

I downgrade basically as soon as Julian's downgrader came around though, which weeks before 10.4 came around and kept warning around.

I may be biased to say this but there was kind of an excuse on updating past 4.5/9.2. Back then, especially at the time 9.3 came around, it was much less accessible and most of the time needed a meme flashcard, and later an obscure game that was especially hard to obtain if you didn't live in a country where there's a gamestop at every corner. I got massive regret a few months later when the hax became all accessible from the browser, and learned my lesson there. Ever since we were told to download Ironfall I kept my eyes keen on the scene until the light came in January. I might not have deserved this, but I'm glad it happened.

Nowadays though, it's more accessible and popular than ever; You need to live under a rock to not be aware of the homebrew scene. Everyone and their mother has a hacked 3DS nowadays, and we've got an objective better guide and objective better CFW. It's much better than even in the beginning of this year where everything was a mess and we were relying on pastebin after pastebin. And like you said, there were multiple chances. There's really no excuse anymore, if you updated past 11.0, you deserve no homebrew.

After DSiWare Downgrading is it safe to start the Guide from the Decrypt9 step on the source 3DS since I can access the Homebrew Launcher through browserhax? The FBI and Homebrew Launcher apps are missing from my home and I'm 9.2 if that makes a difference.

So, this is gonna sound bad, but I sent in a n3ds xl to Nintendo that boots to a black screen (shut off during system format), top screen not showing any picture, unresponsive home button, and no c-stick (I modded mine so I took off what I replaced it with, didn't want to lose it). Only problem is it's been opened up by someone other than Nintendo, so what's the chance they actually repair it? I've read that with the black screen error they typically just send back a new system too. Is there any hope they do for mine since it has been opened up? Will they even look at it?

Yes for the most part i suppose. They can reverse engineer almost every part, its just SAMU thats making things a pain in the ass. SAMU is the part that handles all the encryption, licenses, authorization of things, etc. It's like a subway terminal, but if it was also Fort Knox. Smash hax requires some knowledge going into it. OOThax needs a powersaves and a PHYSICAL cartridge. Also, this is only an entrypoint to the homebrew menu. It's a temporary solution, as once a firmware update comes out you'll invariably have to fix your entrypoint again. CFW is the only permanent solution and is unobtainable to you as of now.
