FC reports the titleid "FBI", "Freeshop" to Nintendo over the Friend Code network. Which can easily be connected to a console's device-id.
Given the lack of efforts to camouflage that (everything is packaged as a separate CIA with a unique ID nowadays, rather than loading silently through Homebrew Launcher), the only thing that's stopped Nintendo banning the lot of us is that they've just chosen not to, for whatever reason.

I am almost done now, but when I was on Section 6, Step 20 (Booting the device at least once with the SD card removed will allow you to configure the CTRNAND based luma installation) I rebooted the N3DS with the microSD removed and I only got a blackscreen.

I checked all the steps again and I am sure I've done everything according to the guide. Any ideas?

So I've got hbmenu running through ninjhax on my 11.0.0 n3ds but the httpwn in the starter.zip gets errors after it starts to download the required config files, so I can't access the eshop to get Exidia. Is there something stupid I probably have done or should I just try again later?

JKSM has two options when you select a game, export save and import save. Export save exports the save to your SD card in a folder you named. Import save imports the save from your sd card though it has to be in the same folder as where the exports go. That's usually something like JKSV/saves/(game name)/(folder name)
Can't spoon feed you any more than this.
Protip when making save backups by exporting. If you type 2 it should auto complete it with the date and time

In general it refers to a console's internal storage. The Wii has NAND storage, the DSi has NAND storage, the 3DS has NAND storage, some PS3 models have NAND storage etc.

So, which icon should I give to my IOSUHAX loader? I have Brain Age to meddle with and everything compiled / set up etc., no problems here.

The choice is between Brain Age icon + Brain Age name to keep it inconspicious or go with Homebrew Launcher icon + name.

Used the dsi downgrade on two different systems, both using the same source system.
This has resulted in the friend code for both those systems being identical.
Thing is, one of those systems was given to a friend while I'm using the other one, and we want to add each other to the friends list.

Yeah, it applies. You don't really "share" a NNID across systems. The NNID used during the transfer is placed to the target 3DS as its new home while carrying all of the properties like the friend code with it. If you didn't do a system format after the transfer on the target 3DS's, than those properties are duplicated and remain on each system. That's mainly why you aren't able to add each other since you can't really friend your own NNID.

Doing a system format on the 3DS erases the NNID and will allow the system to add an existing unlinked NNID or a brand new NNID, though I think new is easier. When I did the system transfer for a friend, I formatted his system so he can create his own NNID and I still have mine to use for myself. We friended each other with no problems.

Does that make sense or is there something you are still wondering about?
