iirc you would place your mic in front of the speaker and the system would play a series of noise out of the speakers and after a few seconds the mic would be calibrated to not tx the sounds picked up off of the TV

I'm not a native speaker, but I've been speaking the language fluently for a decade and a bit, and I'll say that the idea that it's foreign making it better may be wrong, but the idea that it's in its original language making it better is perfectly fine. There are nuances and intonations that are lost in literally every dub, and the director is often (but not always) responsible for the casting. Dubs simply cannot be faithful to the original work, because the very idea that the voice acting for the entire game is to be redone by a third party with no connection to the original team is by nature unfaithful.
That said, XIII's Japanese voicing is nothing special, but the English audio is an insult to both the player's ears and the original staff.

Play with the Japanese audio if you know how to read. There is literally no reason to accept a dub when it tramples over the original voice direction, and does so with insultingly bad acting to boot.

I wish someone would make a fucking guide already. The PS4 Pro is worth it especially if you own a 4k TV with HDR but overall it varies from game to game. Most games have some benefits for 1080p screens aswell. FFXV for example will have a 1080p/60 fps mode for the pro while the regular one runs it at locked 30. Games like BF1 also run better on the pro possibly giving you an advantage in multiplayer. If you really want to know you'll have to check the games 1 by 1 and what their pro support actually does.

I'll add that I think the benefits of the pro at the moment while obvious, ARE limited, but as time goes on, it will just get better.

At the moment there are quite a few games that support it, but its still a small handful compared to the overall ps4 library, but going forward most big games will def have pro support.

Also a lot of pro support at the moment is just higher resolution options, but as time goes on, more and more devs will no doubt experiment with more modes and stuff, so we should see more things like 60fps options, which are what interest me most even though I have a 4k tv.

My tv's upscaling tech is actually really good, so I've been seriously considering playing some games at 1080p60fps mode if given the option, like Nioh for example.

You won't "fix" the problem yourself, they're not made to last as long as you intended with your play style.
I'm on my 4th controller atm. Next controller you buy GET WARRANTY ON IT. Trust me it's the best decision you'll have made. See a problem after a year, month, week with running? Don't even bother trying to open up the controller and fix it, just take it back to the store and they'll give you a new one no problem.

You don't have to open it up, the blowing trick works for me for a few days at a time adn takes about 2 seconds to do. Having said that is still bullshit since it started happening after only a few months.

Also consumer law will protect you even if you don't have a warranty. don't listen to a fucking word they say either in store or from sony, consumer law cannot be surrendered no matter what. You have a reasonable expected lifespan for products essentially. a controller that shits itself after 6 months is not a reasonable amount of time. Even if they have a 10ft sign saying "no refunds" at the cash register and you deny the warranty you are still entitled to a reasonable product.


if the controller of mine wasn't a 20th anniversary one I would've returned it, even though it was out of warranty. I know they would just give me the money back or try and replace it with standard controller.
