Yes, they're worth playing. 4 only has Kamurocho as a playable city, which is fine to focus more on 3 new playable characters. Those characters are cool guy Akiyama, tough guy Saejima and not really corrupt cop but supposed to be Tanimura and Kiryu. Each of them play fairly differently. Akiyama uses kicks, Saejima uses charged attacks and Tanimura uses counters and parries. I really like Akiyama and Saejima as characters and Tanimura is okay but he doesn't return in 5. 4 doesn't drag on, but Saejimas part starts off pretty slow.

5 has 5 total playable cities including Kamurocho and 5 playable characters. That's Kiryu, Akiyama, Saejima, Haruka has rythm game stuff and the new character is Shinada. He is poor and likes baseball and has unique moves with weapons. 5 has the most content of any game. I thought the story was only okay and definitely drags on a bit in Saejimas part and I got sick of Harukas stuff eventually.

If you like 3, you'll probably like the rest.
