Shadow doesn't have an awful time hitting 30 if you focus on it but you have to leave out a lot of the best cards in the craft and run a lot of otherwise mediocre stuff. It's not worth running over PtP Forest or even PtP Rune because those decks don't sacrifice anything for the wincon.

The only thing you can do is Midnight Haunt into PtP. Even then it's not worth it because it'll only last one turn while you use up all your resources and have no good cards because you aren't using necromancy.

How do people stand playing ranked for so long?
It honestly feels like 90% luck. What you draw and what your opponent draws is the most important thing above everything else, not to mention match-ups are incredibly impactful. I feel like I have absolutely no agency at all in the grand scheme of things. I just played a pure Seraph deck and 3 games in a row all the Seraphs were in the bottom half of my deck.
My packs have been pure shit lately too, a lot of uncommons and not much else, and not even many animated cards.
Maybe it's just time to stop playing. I made it to AA1 at least.

Turns out control sword is pretty good

Finally lost after this game to a greedy midrange shadow that got mordecai on turn 8. I almost had enough board presence to lethal him with Charlotte but I got cockblocked 3 turns in a row by foul tempest (with necromancy) into deaths breath (with necromancy) into Wight king (leaving him at exactly 0 shadows). Not that I'm complaining really, 22 winstreak is insane variance in my favour already.

Forest has literally eveything. Storm, non target clears, board clears, big wards, big followers, variable damage storm, cards that disable followers, spell damage, endless supply of fairies for both cards played and hand size archetypes.
And follower with innate ward ignore, robin hood, free evolves with Titania, treant and Tia, Yuel and a lot of cheap bounces to make their wards and storm even more of a cancer.
