It's good in PvE because you do a lot of running around, but its uses in PvP are kind of limited unless you or your opponent are stalling each other.

It's a bit better in invasions since you can just run around and regen some health back.

I really wish 95% of all weapons in DS3 has "Stance" as its WA
Not all longsword stance, but they could have their own unique stances.
For example, MLGS could get the Ludwig stance with L2R1 being vortex and L2R2 being the ranged slam attack he does.
The DSGA could also have stance the Dragonslayer Armor boss uses holding the weapon by both ends with L2R1 being the charge swing and L2R2 being falling bolt

Dorhys' Gnawing doesn't really tack at all, but it's a reasonably fast projectile. Overall not worth using though, it's only really good for PVE. Great Deep Soul does low damage but it tracks like crazy. Still easy to dodge since it moves really slowly, but it's good for comboing with a rollcatch or just forcing them to reposition with a roll.

Black knights make sense because the kiln is nearby. Silver knights not in the portrait room are Aldrich goop fucks, and demon statues are in Izalith.

It isn't a matter of characters making sense within their area, it's if the area being there itself makes sense. Which it doesn't really, but muh time and space are convoluted and muh copy paste all the DS1 assets.

You know what I want? Friede's scythe's paired moveset but with pontiff swords instead. The WA stance would have you buff both swords with fire and magic and you'd do some of pontiff's moves.

Like, instead of L1 being block for one of the swords, it would be a swing and L2 would activate the dualwielding stance.

Or, or when dual wielded r1 swings both swords and L2 WA is a buff attacl.

I've been having decent success at using Friede's Scythe in PvP and having fun with it. I'm now thinking to make a Reaper like build, but unsure weather to use Great Scythe or Corvian Scythe, what'd be better?
Also I mostly PvP at SL60, with a +4/8 weapon but I've been thinking to lower it down to +3 considering I sometime meet fags with +5/10 Darksword or Onyx Blade who destroy my health bar in 3-4 hits even though I've 1300HP.

Phtumerian Descendant and Elder in BB both input read, which is annoying because they have attacks that can be chained but all start from the same starting animation.
Even trash mobs input read, go to merciless watchers. These guys are a GOOD example at input reading. Parry one and press r1, l1 and queue nothing else. You'll get a stagger and they'll shove you away. Now try again but do r1, l1 and then queue another L1 or an other R1 and I gauren-fucking-tee you the will do a strong attack instead of a shove and poise through your shit and kill you.

Soul of Cinder has like 4 times more moves than Gehrman and can neither be parried nor backstabbed or stunlocked and on a purely mechanical level he's a much better boss and the best final boss in series.

Pontiff, Dancer, Dragonslayer Armour, Nameless King, Homoprinces, Champ are also all better than anything in vanilla BB which only has Gascoigne, Elder, Logarius and Gehrman. It also has better variety of boss encounters including gimmick bosses done right like Greatwood.

Logarius is extremely primitive compared to any of those. He can be backstabbed out of his phase 2 gimmick of fuck's sake, and outside of it he's just a fairly boring humanoid with a few predictable moves. Pontiff is twice as aggressive, Nameless has 3 times more moves and Homoprinces have an actually unique gimmick.

Both Darkbeast and HMPH are shit bosses where you fight with camera and arena more than with bosses themselves. Dancer is a legitimate threat and a good difficulty spike.

Greatwood is a unique and fun boss with creepily cute aesthetics.

While it's light, its AR is absolute dog-shit compared to other UGS.
Also, if you're already using a regular GS, which is comparatively slow, you might want to have a faster weapon as your secondary.
You can never go wrong with a regular straight sword. The normal Longsword can carry you throughout the entire game.

Also, in DaS, there's really no such thing as "I don't have anything better". This is not an MMO. A higher base damage doesn't necessarily mean more DPS, or that it's a better weapon.
The things you find in later areas are not "better", they're "different".

Technically, every weapon is viable in PvE.

Both the Large Club and the Great Club exist in DaS3.
If you want to use heavy, big swords this time around, the Astora UGS clearly lacks the "oomph" you're looking for.
Depending on your build, if you're going for pure STR or Quality, there's way better alternatives. For pure STR, the Greatsword is accessible early, and for Quality, you could pretty much get the Lothric Knight UGS straight away.
You also might be interested in the Great Machete, which you also can get rather early, as it's practically the lovechild of an UGS and a Hammer, moveset-wise.

I'm talking about PvE as well. I'm not very fond of the fast spammy PvP playstyle anyway so when I did PvP I'd use a big weapon. Outside of co-op PvE I just use a straight sword or similar weapon with good DPS.

Basilisks and mushroom bugs can be explained be a natural part of the fauna of the world of Dark Souls, considering you can see them in both Dark Souls 1 and 2.

They were kinda shit in Dark Souls 3. They were only in 1 location and they were imo weaker than the regular skeletons even whereas in Dark Souls 1 they could stunlock you to death in 1 combo.
