His shield can only be set up once and guards in a particular direction; enemies can freely walk through his shield.

I'm curious if the balancers even watch their own pro-circuits. They would see that Cassie and Andro are fine, they can make plays in the hands of skilled players. The reason Fernando is first pick isn't because his shield is too strong, it's because he can charge into player's faces and tank damage with level 3 haven like no tomorrow. That doesn't fix him by buffing wrecker, it just makes tank roles more shit at holding down points like they were designed to. Some teams don't even pick up healers anymore and just got all dps/flankers because cauterize 3 is so good at making healing obsolete. They should just nerf the healing abilities of supports, and drastically reduce the numbers on cauterize so that healing can still be factor in fights.

Depending on the changes, Hi-rez might be able to fix them for the better, by making them easier to play while simultaneously nerfing them in higher-level play. An example being that they could remove Cassie's roll's bonus damage but making a nerfed Incitement a permanent part of her kit.

There's a chance they could drop the ball and make things worse though.

Instead of relying on damage, it should rely on any change of HP done by a player. For damage, it can be in or out of combat. For healing, it would be a more complicated set of conditions to avoid Grover stealing the spotlight. That said, ults should be at lower priority since normal attacks and skills need a higher level of skill to pull off POTGs.

Damage POTGs should be adjusted so that players can't just take out enemies with lower than 10% HP to steal the POTG. Threshold should be 30% or higher.

Remember that tanky FLs still have their beefy HP (well, except for Barik). Instead of relying on the shield, you rely on other things that can help take objectives and defend allies. Also properly gauging when to take shots and when to shield will help mitigate the effect of wrecker.

Couple of points in bowling ball to make rocket boots a reasonably useful escape skill.
The rest of your points spread between healing station, combat repair, one mans scrap and forged alloy. Forged alloy should be at least 2 to avoid it getting destroyed in one shot by drogoz and healing station 3 or 4 means that you can survive reasonably well even without a healer at least until the next update when he gets heavily nerfed.
