Not even remotely closed. It's played by almost as many retards, no doubt. But, banner actually runs out of steam, and every card aside from banner is easy as fuck to interact with. Storm Haven allows shitter to never have to worry about their opponent interacting with their cards, nor running out of steam early.

Competent banner players actually play around AoE, competent storm Haven players are indistinguishable from any other. The deck just barely has decision making ability, it's too auto pilot.

I run forest with with 1 Ancient Elf, 2 Tias, 3 Cynthias, 3 Roaches, and 2 wind gods. It works just fine and I've had good success with it, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't know adding those other two elves would push it over the edge.
