I was that anon, I like the improvements. T-Rexes can stand more erect if necessary, the head just bends better than what you had, but that new one looks far better balanced.

Is there a reason the mouth is squared open? Are you planning on animating it to bite/roar? A simpler way out could be just closing the mouth and texturing fake teeth on as a skin.

Thanks you. No money to pay them until maybe next year in Jan since my university is giving me a 1500 grant for my game, as well as I'm having a demo a my colleges game dev group at the same time to get people to join in on my project.

The game tries to emulate the style of PS1 early 3d, a certain game in specific, and so does my mod because of it. So modelling wouldn't be too hard I think, for someone that already knows what he's doing.
Honestly I don't expect much for good answers, as I assume everyone in this thread is already working on a game of their own and wouldn't want to assist someone they don't know for free. So if that is a problem I completely understand.

The mod is just a series of tracks for a racing game. What I currently have isn't exactly impressive as it's all made with an in-game creator, so it's just a track skeleton. The models in that game are super simple, you can learn to do it pretty quick if you dedicate yourself to it.
I don't have any specific links to tutorials, but just download blender and look up some blender beginner tutorials. The hardest thing is probably UV unwrapping and making the textures. But the models themselves are easy.

So I have a system where a blueprint's mesh is altered based on a value held by the blueprint. That value is affected by other objects and the code to set the object is located in the construction script because the player isn't meant to see the change from one mesh to another

Well that's a pain in the ass because I can't even manually set the meshes to appear in the viewport. I have to break my code to get them to appear so I can see what the fuck I'm altering when I want to change those meshes

I'm trying to create a pause screen that follows the x_view and y_view on the screen instead of the room's dimensions. I found a way of fixing the cursor which involved switching from a step-event to a key_press, then creating / destroying instances when pausing and unpausing the game. My obj_inventory_pause code is currently functioning both as an equip display and as a pause screen inventory, so right now my strategy will to be to split the code into two pieces and create / destroy instances during the pause screen that is populated by a persistent inventory object.

Depending on how good you are you can maybe prove one of their results given 20 years of hard work. But at that point it isn't even worth it since those guys can do what took you 20 years to realize in 5 weeks or so.

In other words, its possible to be a yesdev if you work hard enough. It's also technically possible to dig the Grand Canyon with a spoon. It only makes sense however, to do it if you have the shovel of God which has been given to only a few select people on the planet. So you might as well just walk away and let the specialists handle it and go play video games or jack off.

The camera is usually abit further up and back, but had to reduce the size of the scene view as much as possible or it becomes impossible to record on this computer.

I also tried what one anon said a few days ago with lerping the robot companion when he goes in to carry the character, but it felt very unresponsive and clunky, so sticking with this for now. Was thinking of maybe adding particle effects on the transition, since the robot will be able to use teleportation with it's core.

Sometimes when you are on the right track and you clearly make progress, yet "just doesn't feel like it", then you need discipline until motivation takes control over again. Other times, when you hit a block or just don't know how to continue, and just tired overall, play some game, read a book, or do something which makes you completely forget game dev for a while (maybe for days, maybe for weeks). Think about it as a vacation. After that, you'll feel like you just had the best sleep of your life and you'll be energized again for a few months until the next burn out.

Greenlight's been pretty easy to get through. Now it's mostly about waiting long enough more than being good enough.

Being good helps get through faster, though.
