Does anybody have a suggestion for a drama, mystery, or romance VN that isn't a slice of life, isn't just edge and gore, but has a darker tone to it? Potentially with no actual good end. I'm looking for something sad that will just make me feel like shit by the end of it.

But having attempted to read up on what I wilfully ignored since no one else seems to ignore it.
Why in the world are people making such a big deal out of it? Yeah, Conjueror was joking so it's really not that big of a deal in the end. But imagining if he wasn't? Mixing politics or references to politics into your translations where it wasn't originally present, is utterly and completely unacceptable and appalling. What kind of politics it is really doesn't matter.
And from what I can gather, all Haro really said was for him to quit it and that it wasn't funny. Which given the absolute taboo of what Conjueror said, have it been a joke or not, makes sense.

In the end it was just a joke so I can't possibly see it as that big of a deal. But at the same time that kind of joke itself is taboo for a translator so being called out for it is in no way anything odd. And unless I have missed something I would hardly call it "being attacked".

Looks like you guys are getting the story mixed up. Here is what happened.

Conjueror made a "grab them by the pussy joke"

BDH called him out and said it was not funny

Conjueror apologized, deleted his post and said he was sorry to any one offended and that it was a joke and he was not serious

If it had ended at that there would have been no issue but BDH, Good Haro, and Kitty-tama all ganged up on conjueror. So he apologized more, said he handled it poorly, and was pretty much groveling for forgiveness trying to diffuse the situation, while the other 3 blew it up

BDH, GH, Tama would not let it up and called him a Grade A Vile Asshole for apologizing.

MG sent Koestl of all people to diffuse the situation but all he did was attack conjueror and call us all retarded.

Then when it blew up, GH called everyone in the scene an idiot and claimed they resolved everything in private, but not without insulting the whole fanbase in a passive aggressive manner.


In the end Conjueror asked everyone to calm down that it was all resolved and that he was happy, winky face.

By this time BDH and GH gave up or went to sleep.
