Yeah, I know Hibiki is canonically pretty weak, but it's funny how much Kagura gets kicked around when he's not around. Then again, maybe the characters wouldn't bully Kagura as much when he's around because (1) Hibiki doesn't hesitate to pull rank and government when people insult him, and (2) he will stab you in your sleep. No not really. They had four or five do-nothing days at the church which were all but skipped over. Perfect opportunity for a breather and for characters to interact a little more lightly. Yeah, Ragna trying and failing to teach Noel to cook would have been really cute. Some things with Rachel and deathbead Celica. Maybe even Jin coming to terms with Noel a bit, foreshadowing the end a little. A lot could have been done. Instead we just hop from a major battle with Nine to the assault on Izzy with barely a breather. Mori fucked it up again, couldn't even add these things as subs.

How common is it for people to play multiple characters in this game? I mainly play GG where players typically only play one character well. I've been playing for about 3 months as Izayoi but I don't know if I should play someone like Jin and then move onto Izayoi. I find that I can't apply pressure because people just mash out constantly and pressure is the whole point of Izayoi in GA. Also I still don't know the main way you break out of pressure in this game. I usually just get mauled as soon as I block something and have to use meter to dead angle out. Do you typically mash out or jump? The thing about this game is that its hard to see what is safe and what is not safe, moves don't visually represent the frame data like in other games so its just a pure guess as to when I can get out. I play Melty Blood too which is known for its really strong pressure yet I'm able to learn how to escape characters pressure even if I have little to no experience against them in that game. How do you go about learning the gaps in BB because it doesn't seem like you can find them visually.

Play Jin first, then move on to Izayoi, she's a pretty difficult character to play as and you need to really put in some work for her pressure to be good.
Generally you'll just have to block for a while till you find a gap or they throw out some dumb shit for you to punish, granted good players won't usually do that. Mashing out/jumping out really depends on the character and the player, for example don't mash on Tao, do mash on Terumi.

Why bother dead angling when you can just DP RC? Why asking how to get out when you have a DP? Just get out when opponent will be baiting your DP.
Also try instant blocking, barrier, instant barrier, jumping out with a barrier. Those are pretty good. Also jabs after instant block and backsteps, though those are a bit risky.

Square color ranking is forced upon everyone. There's no way to avoid it outside of not playing. A lot of people, myself included, dislike that, since it means there's no way to practice with characters online without losing "rank". (EG: I used to be a pretty good Azrael and wanted to learn Amane. As I was practicing with him, I went from Yellow to Dark Green)
That's not what I meant when I said the ranking system was fucked, though. What I meant by that was that it only counts games against people of your own rank (unless you're white), meaning that a Yellow can win an infinite amount of games against an Orange with no change to either player's rank, but if he then goes and loses enough times to another Yellow, he'd be dumped back down to Light Green.
In order to tell this system to go fuck itself, a lot of really strong players intentionally let their rank plummet to Light Blue just so they wouldn't have to deal with it.

Hibiki seems to spend most of his time as Kagura's secretary. He doesn't seem to do much assassination work these days but there's no evidence he wants to stop either. Hibiki is pretty crazy and deep down wants to be an emotionless killer after all.
Mai doesn't want Shiori to be forced to work as an assassin and Shiori deep down wants to escape as well, so it does look like Shiori has stopped being an assassin. She still fights for Mai, but doesn't assassinate people anymore.

I thought Shiori decided to continue hunting after Jin after this scene; even though she joined Mai's side, she outright told her she wouldn't stop trying to assassinate Jin either. I know at the end she made her final switch when she decided to go save Mai instead of killing Jin while he was weakened. I'm not sure where she is at Variable Heart, maybe she decided to drop assassination altogether.
Nobody's really sure what's going on with Hibiki, the story mode barely addressed why he's insane or anything about him. I personally feel like Hibiki's background is similar to Shiori's, except he's a bit further gone than her from not having anyone who understands or sympathizes. He calls himself "empty" and a "tool," and his desire to become a murderer feeds into completing that identity, rather than something he actually wants as a person. But, who knows?Honestly though if he really wanted to Kagura dead, he could probably just leave and let him get bullied.
