So why's civ still not on consoles? I think it's casual and simplistic enough to be played with a gamepad, not to mention that it's turn-based so they micro shit doesn't matter that much. Maybe firaxis would actually be able to afford finishing their games too

It actually matters a lot especially in late game, unless you fancy 30 minutes of menuing each turn. Interface is already bad as it is with keyboard controls.

I just got endless legend. New to this type of game. I won a game on hard as the vaulters.

Any tips for playing other races?
>>
>>160005413
Play Drakken, settle on a ruin.
Take your entire army in the direction of the closest enemy capital while making a drakkenling. Declare war with the influence you got from the ruin, capture the capital because your starting units are brick shithouses that can shit all over pretty much everyone else except Necrophages. Capture as many capitals as you want for a comfy game. GG
>>
>>160005413
Play necrophages. Get a commander with the "reduced upkeep" ability. Get the fat worms that spit. Enjoy your 125/6 army sizes and units that auto-upgrade when you get to a new tech tier.
>>

>>160005756
Not him, but what about Doshlords? What's the comfiest way to play as Doshlords?
>>
>>160005995
Make a custom doshlord faction, if I remember right the default doshlords don't even use all of their points. Other than that you can play wide as fuck, beeline dust techs, settle everywhere and make dat money.
>>
>>160005995
suprisingly, custom dustlords with industry focus. Just research dust techs, but settle on industry.

It works well, even when you don't start on a desert.
>>
>>160000000
>>
How do I play the forgotten well? I like custom factions but I have no idea how to build them.

At the base they are just stealth units, buy tech with dust, and dual-wielding archers aren't they?
>>
>>160006326
>forgotten
>Never put your heros in armies
>Send them off to be thieving little bastards

Bravo Johann.
>>
>>160006775
Nope, it's another one of those "we add a feature and exactly one faction that can utilise it properly" expansions, just like Shadows. Also new sea thingies let you get loads of resources without even researching proper techs, simply by controlling the seas.
>>
>>160006890

>>
>>160007035

You tell me.
It lags to shit on large when 2400s come.
Even on medium the game can go to shit if there are many splintered AI empires and the war in heaven make them all go to war.
You tell me.
>>
>>160007184
yup I had issues back then but I've not had any lag issues for a while now, not sure if it's been since 1.2 but definitely before 1.3 came out

>>160007241
is it just battle that are larger or everything?
>>
>>160003040
Not to mention that the huge fighter range puts your fleet in "combat speed mode" until every shitty mining station in the system is dead, it's a pain in the ass.
>>
>>160007325
>"combat speed mode" until every shitty mining station in the system is dead,
this annoys me so much especially when there is an incoming enemy fleet

>>

>>
>>160007505

>>
>get a glitch where my units aren't healing
>now forever paranoid they won't heal
>>
>>160007537
Is there some mod that fixes this? I can't imagine it would be too hard:

Just have like...priority orders. As many people in industry to get the "turns till done" down to a minimum, then put the rest in science/dust/influence?

ALso: is it just me or does production not carry over if you finish something? It's most noticable on huge cities.
>>
>>159997390
MINAH WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!
>>
>>160007529
>PD

PD is useful on Destroyers (put PDs on the DD's ass section, weapons on the front) but forces you to use shitty hardpoint sections on Cruisers and BBs.

As soon as you get flak, PD is basically obsolete since you can put Flak on any M-sized hardpoint and not have to resort to shitty PD/Hangar sections on the bigger ships.
>>
So I'm really new to this game and I find myself really struggling early on, between the slow building of districts and the like and constantly having to churn out units to fight the seemingly endless amount of barbarians even when I destroy their camps I always feel like I start falling behind, God forbid a random AI/Player decides to start something too. Is there any solid tips for thriving early game?
>>
>>160008004
I do have to research my way through all tiers of PD before I can get Flak, don't I? PD is still good enough until I get there.
>>
>>160008062
How is the ship design/fighting in the new one?

Is it the "long range bullets only" style of the old game?
>>
>>160008062
Last I checked, you get Flak by researching the Autocannon line. But since PD usually pops up earlier and is researched in Physics rather than Engineering, you can stick to using PD Destroyers until you get Flak.

>>160008171
I think it's a bit more balanced in general now, especially since Tachyon spam is (I think) far less, if not, no longer viable.

Long-range big guns for both softening the enemy and taking down their big ships.

Smaller, close-range and high-tracking weapons to take down smaller ships.
>>
>>160008281
Speaking of Autocannons, I wonder if Autocannon cruisers can deal with corvettes good enough to drop destroyers alltogether.

I've found that dealing with a slow trickle of apostles is easy, just sleep an Apostle of your own on your holy site and watch them all beeline straight there only to die in the pointless attrition of theological combat because you get stupid healing from being on your holy site, but of course the AI is just going to shit out dozens of Apostles at once and swarm you most of the time

God, war in Stellaris is so fucking tedious. It almost always comes down to crushing their fleet in one battle, then slowly conquering enough planets to get enough warscore while they throw tiny fleets at you or try to take planets back with a single transport ship. Warscore costs are off the rails too, you literally can't liberate more than three planets in a single war so this shit just drags on forever. Add in the late game lag and it makes me want to kill myself.

I basically planned to play as a science-focused empire that wants to enlighten the galaxy. And by enlighten I mean pushing forwards science while crushing spiritualist fools, enslaving vile Xenos and using them and robots as the bulk of their armies. Uplifting useful xenos and slaughtering the unworthy ones.
Note that I'm using a mod that allows me to start on a barren planet, but that breaks the leader window so I changed my homeworld to tropical for this picture.

>>
>>160027548
Depends on what you wanna do with them.
A typical set-up would be a tank station with an FTL snare surrounded by stations full of L weapons to fuck enemy fleets up or at least slow them down. Single defense stations are little more than a stepping stone for any decent fleet, but they can be useful to stop the enemy coming at you with tiny fleets, or single transporters that try to reconquer worlds. Also stops them from rebuilding ports if you place them on top of the world. Sometimes the AI is even dumb enough to just suicide tons of science and construction ships into them.
But the number one rule for war in Stellaris is to go balls-to-the-walls aggressive, blowup their biggest fleet and then fuck up their space ports. After that, it's just tediously conquering their planets until you get enough warscore..

>>160020259

Here is the real answer.

Aqueducts/baths MUST be placed on, in addition to the stated conditions of being next to your city and also adjacent to a river or mountain, a tile where the actual 3D model can lead from the fresh water source to your city. The tile you circled in red is directly opposite across the banks from your city and thus a bath/aqueduct cannot bring water to your city.

This is the cancer that grows when you let the animation/modeling team take over.

in theory if your borders expanded enough you could build fishing boats, which would get you the resource since they're a luxury, but you can't buy past 3 range so you'd have to wait for borders to expand naturally.

Why I cant get fun from Endless Legend anymore?

When I first played Endless Legend, like month after release, I loved it. I really enjoyed playing slowly on higher difficulties, something I was never doing in 4x before.

After first expansion came, I was rather angry that it was not free one, like with Endless Space, but I thought it was okay. I bought later on sale Guardians, when next one was already out. Later next two expansions as well.

But no matter what, everytime I played after getting first expansion, each game after next one bought, it was never fun anymore. I felt like I was forcing myself to play, for the most of time.

Why is that? Why the same game that gave me a lot of fun in basic part, feel so crappy after getting expansions. Also, expansions that dont feel needed at all, after I got them.

Why?

In the same time, I checked how I feel about Endless Space, by replaying it, and it felt great, just like last time.

>And failing to get anything other than scorn and amusment at how pathetic you are

Cleopatra is the absolute best for this. In her animated agenda scene where she declares you to be too weak to bask in her presence, she pauses to look directly at you, and down, before continuing to mock you. I realize she's supposed to be looking you up and down, but it's pretty easy to interpret her as looking directly at your groin before continuing to mock you.

The only thing better is if she makes that declaration a few turns before storming your empire with her MASSIVE army.

>>

Keep trying anon, you can probably make it through a full game sooner or later, them grinding you down and teaching you your place under their heel can't happen every game after all

And if nothing else it could be worse, there's no team setting in Civ so there will never be a game where it's you vs all of them working together as they openly plot how they're going to divvy up your cities and what they plan to do after they lead your disgraced ass through their streets in chains and not much else

>>160036568

Normally, I always send out cavalery units from the starting squad alone into the world, plus few lowest level units around, in order to uncover as much terrain as possible. Scounts dont really need to travel in groups, however, the quicker you uncover terrain, the bigger the chances for grabbing unprotected gold/mana stashes or even better - free buildings or population for nearest city.

Losing cavalery to roaming neutrals is kinda annoying, but lowest level basic troops - not so much.

Not to mention that it is important to know beforehand about potential cities locations. Especially with expansions that add unique buildings based on map improvements within city range. Having bonus armor building AND damage AND pikemen bonus in single city is really good, not to mention other synergies.

>"I'm about to play my first Civ game ever"

Seriously?

If this is really his first game ever, have him go with Settler, so he can grasp basic controls and mechanics. Unless something changed in VI, this was the best introduction for newcomers.

Also, with epic speed, he will probably throw the game away. Normal is way to go, until you feel familiar with the game and want to have longer session.
>>
>>160039825
that's not all i want to do. i enjoy playing civ. i play it normally to some extent. it's just that when one of the AI's is female and starts getting dominant with me, well, things happen.

so civ is the best of both worlds. i wasn't ACTUALLY complaining about getting repeatedly turned on while playing it. just wanted an excuse to post that aggressive gorgo image.

is civ 6 a good game

whats good and bad about it
>>
>>160057228
Civ6 is in a unique position of being a bad game that can be fixed and be made into a good game. Its not balanced well, its diplomacy is fleshed out from Civ5 but is rendered inconsequential due to poor AI. Its map generation is eclectic and is lacking in the numerous options of Civ5. The Civilopedia is poorly implemented and, like its Tech descriptions, seems more inclined to be witty than helpful.

Despite all this though, Civ6 shows promise. Fans of the series (myself included) can expect a couple expansions and a patch or two to fix most of these problems and the modding community will be sure to fix the rest. Civ6 leaves a lot to be desired but it also shows a lot of potential and has plenty of room to improve.
>>
>>160036568
Keep your leader, heroes and combat units together and use them to clear sites.

Use summoned scout units such as Spy Drones, Zephyr Birds, Cherubs, Wisps, etc. to explore the map for you (if you can't summon them at the start, research them).

Roaming mobs are going to be a pain in the ass though since they'll attack your scouts and take undefended cities, though I usually just re-summon any scouts they take down.

You don't cast it out of combat, it automatically heals up to 25 HP among all undead units in a stack when you proceed to the next turn.
>>

I guess it's bugged in my version or something, my Cadavers are definitely not being healed each turn.
>>

>>
>>160068538
Cadavers are highly-expendable arrow-fodder that slowly "decay" or lose HP each turn. You need more healing units to counteract their decay.

Also, I think how the "heal-per-turn" mechanic works is basically one unit gets healed for as much HP as possible, then when that unit is at full health, the excess HP transfers over to the next unit.

B) How is Stellaris right now? Worth playing or should I just bide my time and wait for more DLC?

I don't really know how to explain it. They feel cartoony and "buttony", even more than Civ V. The buttons and icons feel without substance and fluffy, the effects to make them look 3D (I suppose) are overdone, and generally are oversized, kind of like XP's Start Button but way bigger.
>>

Oh yeah, but I'm talking about many of the icons.
In general, the ones that don't need to be fucking massive are titanic (choose production and the menu buttons), and the ones that need to actually be bigger are fucking tiny (city ranged attack). Also, the icons themselves are horribly ugly and are somehow both simplified and unclean and unclear (SLIGHTLY BIGGER CORN).

Growth tiles as in those that gives food? So a hilly forest with lumber mill 2 food 3 production is ideal then? Or are farms better for that? What's the ideal situation, if you could choose your tiles?
>>
why does civ vi get significantly easier on quick compared to epic speed
>>
>>160089273

Ideally, you're going to want a healthy mix of Production and Food for the entire game

2 food 3 production on a normal time (no bonus, no luxury) is decent, your citizen feeds himself and creates 3 hammers

It's important to have a bunch of farms to get active growth going (3+ food), ideally along rivers. Which is why rivers settles are at an absolute premium (outside of commercial, housing, wonders)

The idea city would have a healthy mix of good food tiles (wheat, rice, cattle, farm on rivers, large grassland farmlands), good production tiles (stone, copper, sheep, milled forests, hill mines, plains)

Coastal cities tend to be dreadful because coast just has shit yields that you can't ever hope to improve, is obviously not terrain you can put districts on, is very vulnerable to barbs, and also gives gold which is a ridiculously bad tile yield. Fish, crabs, pearls, whales don't make up for it

Unique improvements tend to be shit because they prevent you from making a tile workable. Maybe special improvements like chateaus can benefit if planned very precisely
>>
>>160089329
Why is EL impossibly hard on higher difficulties compared to Civ?

Leader trait: +1 economic policy slot.

Civilization trait: commercial districts build in half the time and do not count towards the district/population limit. Enemy units take 5 damage every time they end their turn in your territory.

Unique unit: militia (ranger replacement). 70 strength instead of 60, ignores terrain cost when in friendly territory.

Unique building: market upgrade. Builds in half the time, grants the same bonuses as before but also grants +2 faith and production.

Is this civ balanced?

Endless Space is pretty good. I liked it more than Endless Legend.
>>
>>160101074
i play immortal and not diety but its kind of hard not to get a prophet if are really intent on actually doing it. the question is whether religion is worth it.

holy site
shrine
revelation (even better as greeks)
holy site work order
hoard faith from stone circles or aurora etc to finish the last few ticks if you're worried
>>
>>160103106
I feel like the bonuses are too hard to pass up. Being able to purchase things with faith for example, and the passive bonuses of the religion.
>>
>>160102230
all unipue districts dont count towards district/pop limit. honestly thats probably why there isnt a civ yet with a unique commercial district. maybe it would have to have some location restriction like the acropolis but it would end up making it worse

>>160102905
Endless Space had good idea, but the AI pisses me off so much.

4x in general have terrible AI, because no matter what the difficulty is, the AI is the same. You just get outrageous bonuses in easy mode and insane maluses in hard mode.
>>
>>160101074
nigga i used to restart every time i didn't get jesuit, which is always third religion, until i decided jesuit was shit and liked %build more
You can almost always get a religion in vi even on deity. Just make sure you pick the divine spark pantheon, and don't dick around getting city 2 and the holy district up.
>>
>>160100692
As well as what everyone else has said
>Enemy units take 5 damage every time they end their turn in your territory
That is staggeringly, brokenly overpowered. There's no way for anyone to war you, ever. Taking out cities is already a war of attrition and difficult enough when only one or two units are taking the brunt at a time, now the entire army is dying (and losing combat strength) just for existing in your borders. If this was on a wonder, everyone would build it no question.
>>
>>160104656
The one thing I'll say for Endless AIs is that you can actually form and maintain an alliance with them. They won't inevitably backstab you like almost every other AI in 4x games, even when you're getting close to one of the (non-domination) victory types.
>>

>build up and arm to attack the 2 enemies

>the other rival is a human theocrat which is also stronger than me and fields the exact same shit as I do, except a bit stronger
>can't exploit unit weaknesses
>my magics are 90% useless because "lol air mastery"
>stuck in a deadlock with three hundred flying tombs ready to kill a hero and make me lose the game

That's where I realized AoW3, despite being an ok game, is a bit boring. Buildings are the same, once you snowball you get really fucking big, there's too much focus on war.

I don't know if GS and other strategy games spoiled me but I'm having trouble finding a good 4X. I had tons of fun with MoM, MoO and GalCiv2 and Civ3 and 4 but I can't bring myself to enjoy AoW3 now. Maybe I will give random map a spin.

Any 4x games recommendations with a lot of depth?
>>
>>160100128
Too much maintenance vs taxes and goods flowing in.

Cut down on your fleet size, cut down on unused bases, optimize shit like space ports and orbit defenses. Not every world needs a space port and the more shit you stuff in a design, the more costly it is.
>>
>>160106167
Goblins get cheaper units and swarm darters have no penalty for firing at maximum range. Zerg the dwarves.

Yeah Distant Worlds is really what gets close to me, but I played it a lot and want to play something else. Stellaris honestly looks a bit boring, maybe it's finally time to try Endless Legend.
>>
>>160106167
The racial unit strength difference shouldn't be big enough to make you outright lose, it's not like Goblins are bad or anything. The game's combat system also gives the player more swing power than most 4X games.

Even if your spirit damage doesn't work on other theocrats there's little stopping you from beating the opponent down with wolf riders and big beetles while emphasizing buffing/healing. That said, I can't speak for whatever situation the campaign puts you into.

Overall AoW 3 is very conquest based though yes, for better or worse.
>>
>>160107187
>>
>>160106167
Fallen Enchantress has plenty of depth in every aspect of the game, it's just very rough around the edges, give it a shot. The best things about it are character customization/ unit creation.
>>
>>160107413
>with wolf riders and big beetles
Literally impossible with their 300 hundred flying tombs. 2 of them can basically take out an army of wargs with their special area attack.
They have a 6/6 stack of those things and the only thing I have that cna counter that ar eother devout units as strong aka another 66 stack of flying tombs.

Honestly I can retreat, regroup and defeat but it's a war of attrition. The huge focus on warfare is somewhat of a letdown for me, though I remember playing Warlock and it had worse than this.

>>160107932
I played that and I played the original Elemental when it came out. Honestly, Elemental: War of Magic had some cool ideas like dynasties and stuff but it was scrapped because the game was garbage. Fallen Enchantress is a bit better but it's still a bit shitty. Sorcerer King is actually interesting though and the first game of the series I consider decent, but it suffers from the same problemas as AoW3 I think: too much focus on conquest.

I wouldn't complain so much if the conquest was more badass though. AoW3 chapter about draconians and the gians archdruids can summon are pretty nice and I like the combat and besieging (though overabundance of flying units and OP as fuck dwarven machinery make this shit almost useless) but the war of attrition shit simply doesn't cut it for me. Theocrat focus are making people happy. In a game about fucking conquest.

No, get Goblin Martyrs. They cost lmao36gold to produce, they have 7 more base HP, 1 more defense and resistance, and throw stones for 15 damage, and evolve into tier 3 units. As far as ranged units go, they're absurdly strong.

I research as hard as I can but these assholes have multiple fleets with above 2k strength and the only one that I've got hasn't even broke 1k despite me being at my ship limit. I can barely take on the crystals and shit that are just floating around. united nations of earth is fine for researching shit
vassalize and integrate neighbours, be friendly and peaceful with bigger neighbours
start with colony ship research first, a science ship and build mining bases everywhere
you want to get your mineral production up and running asap, energy credits production just to not be in the negative
once you colonize the 2 guaranteed planets next to you plant a frontier outpost on the best spot you can for extra resource production and start making corvettes en masse
feel free to go over the limit, it makes the maintenance of your ships go up by X% where X depends on how much you've gone over the limit
be prepared to start building the colonist ship the moment the research is ready, its ~330 if you dont have the government for cheaper ships
once you have the colonist ship build 5-6-7 corvettes because the space piracy is born event is about to happen
once you have the corvettes build 2nd colonist ship and grab the 3rd planet, dont bother rushing buildings on the 2 new planets, everything but power plants cost energy credits for maintenance
early feel free to ignore research stations if there are still mining stations to be built within your borders
micro manage your construction ship to build mines 1 by 1, if you que them up all at once it takes all the minerals immediately and that stops you from building shit on your planets/corvettes
always go for mineral mining bases if you have the energy credits to not go in the negative while you are still poor

also AI is way more prone to declaring war to another AI than you probably because they love declaring rivalries, abuse the shit out of that early on
once 2 AIs declare war on each other keep checking their fleet power from the diplomacy menu, the moment it goes to pathetic declare war for vassalization and grab EVERYTHING asap to snatch an easy vassal

>>160121294

Novelty probably wore off in the time it took Guardians to come out, even if you weren't playing it during that time it's still "old" by the time you pick it back up.

The reason why the expansions don't even seem to change anything is because they suck. Amplitude wasted all of their development on adding major factions, each one being an enormous fucking sink of resources, when EL already had a ton of extremely unique factions and desperately needed core gameplay content instead.

I really, really hope that they learn from their mistakes when making EL2.

Civ 6 is fun but the late game is absolutely fucking awful because there's no quality of life mechanics. And in a game where you go wide, that's just sinful.
There's no more infinite science/money queue, meaning you have to pick little projects that last like 3-4 turns for your more advanced cities. Traders still need to be renewed, which isn't so bad until you have 12 cities. Defensive spies have to renewed for no reason. There's just a million things to do each turn in late-game when there doesn't need to be.

Pirate it and wait for the first expansion which will hopefully fix some of these.

Aqueducts must be built in a tile BETWEEN a river, lake, oasis or mountain and the city center, That means it can't use a tile that already has those things on top of it, like that one tile. It's that simple, no need to sperg over things that aren't even correct.

Props to firaxis for actually making women without super smooth babyfaces or bizarre manfaces, except for this exact reason they look mostly unattractive, they are merely like actual women, which is somewhat of a technical achievement, seeing as how west devs are so prone to fucking it up in fear of angering SJWs.

They are very well done, but well done to look mediocre, absolute 5-6/10s (which Cleo is kind of an exception imo, i would giver her an 8), but this is achieved in such an expert manner that they still retain some charm and elegance, which some may confuse with actual attractiveness.

You're supposed to stop the scout before he sees your borders, which is actually moving next to it i think, leave your military units around your cities instead of on top of them and attack scouts, you can even see the AI doing this, they will just move units around their borders randomly, the scout will then try to run away.

Of course that isn't goint to help if you're somehow surrounded by 3 camps while having 1 warrior, that shouldn't happen too easily though. Remember the barb units only spawn if the scout makes it back to a tile next to a camp.

And their early horsemen are just mounted warriors, just like horse archers are just mounted slingers.

Playing civ 6, and having a bit of trouble. I don't know this game so well, but I understand that amenities are important. My city is blessed with 6 luxury tiles, and I have 3 amenities (I'm guessing they produce 0.5 amenities each), but now it seems I need 4 amenities to keep citizens happy. What the hell? How can the game expect me to have more than 6 luxury tiles? I was under the impression that it's a hella lot of luxury for one city. Will Amenities be a problem?
>>
>>160167851

>>
>>160167927

Yes they are improved. I also have my capital city tho. But that city has luxury too. I guess it has taken some of the amenities from this city perhaps. But in any case, how to deal with amenities really is basically my question.

How are you meant to do half of the inspirations and eurekas?
You rarely have enough time to build a district before state workforce or a wonder before the wonder thing, finding another continent or finding 3 city states is complete RNG and half of the shit like build a pasture/mine a resource/farm a resource are more RNG. Then there's things like the get a great artist, where you simply don't have enough great artist points to get it in time since all the great artist things are locked behind the tech that needs the great artist.
There's also nonsense like the great library giving every ancient and classical eureka and inspiration, but coming so fucking late that you get maybe 2 or 3 things out of it.

If the swamp has no resource on it that you can improve, harvest it for food - but consider leaving it alone for a bit since it is pretty much a free farm improvement until you start unlocking the farm adjacency bonuses. The potential amount of food harvested also increases the longer you wait (aka the more techs/civics you have researched).

I feel like an effective AI could be created by having them have different levels of plans
Next turn plans
Ten turn plans (buildings, general military deployment)
Twenty Turn plans (build city here, etc)
Fifty turn plans (priority techs, units needed, military 'orientation', expected and desired diplo status)
Hundred turn plans (potential victory paths, tech line priority, wonder planning).
Each would be evaluated only every X turns or on special events like N. Wonder discovered, wonder beaten, tech finished Eureka, city location stolen, resources discovered, etc.

Honestly at this point just do away with the stupid fucking warmonger penalty shit. All it does is cause more harm than good. The only reason a civ should get mad at you for taking cities is if they;

>Are friends with the conquered civ
>Are specially designated leaders like Gandhi or Roosevelt who don't want to see war.

This blanket "You are a bad man" bullshit kills all fun and, frankly, makes no fucking sense. If a civ is denounced for being an asshole, why is everyone getting fucking pissed at me for taking them out.

I love Casus Belli. I really do. Ancient warfare should be anything goes, but once a civ researches the tech for Casus Belli's, surprise wars should become impossible. It would make war a much more diplomatic action. I would love to experience goading enemy civs into war. Come on. Spread your religion! I can't stop ya. HOLY WAR FUCK YOU. Speaking of which, it would make your actions hold a lot more consequence. You could send those missionaries into your neighbor's lands, but be warned that you're now faced with the possibility of war.

TL;DR I'm sick of the warmonger penalty and don't want it anymore.
>>
>>160176082
Jackson was a great president. Every single person in America who ever protests or fights the oligarchy is carrying on Jackson's legacy. He was the first great president for the common, and the Civil War would have permanently destroyed the country if Lincoln didn't have Jackson's example to follow.
>>
>>160176545

Even just making defensive wars hold ZERO warmonger penalty would fix so much.

No Age of Wonders, please, I tried it, and frankly, I hate it.

are you in a federation with the FE only ? if yes try inviting another normal empire to your federation and try to leave by talking to them
there are console commands to force another ai to declare XXXXX diplomatic action towards you
for that open the console with `
type debugtooltip
open the galactic map, you should be seeing ID numbers when you hover over the territory of different empries
type reverse_diplo XXXXXXXXXX YY
XXXXXXXX is the diplomatic option, that list is located here Stellaris\common\diplomatic_actions
YY is the ID number you see from the galactic map
so a command to leave federation from the FE towards you will look like this
reverse_diplo action_leave_federation YY
where YY is the ID number of the FE that will tell you they are leaving the federation
dont know if it will work, if it doesnt try some other commands from the list
if it doesnt work you can also try to switch to the FE and use the same command to force your empire to tell the FE they are leaving the federation, or you can try the normal route by talking to them and telling them you are leaving
pause game
type play YY, where YY is the ID of the empire you want to take control of
if that doesnt work go back to your empire and try other commands from the list
pause
play x, this command will return you to your starting empire
if you unpause the game while playing as another empire the AI will take over your original empire and play with them

what file do I edit to increase the chance-per-month that orbital bombardment kills a pop?
All the glassing mods are dumb as shit

light has a 5% chance per month.
limited is 10%, full is 15%

If you don't spam happiness buildings on your planets factions are basically AIDS.

You either go Fanatic Spiritualist/Militarist or you go Individualist in your ethos, so you can get -50% Ethics Divergence almost by default or enough happiness buildings to make every alien super stoked.

Why revolt when I get a cool shopping mall?!

Stellaris\events\orbital_bombardment.txt
its a bit weird to read at first but from these 3 lines down
immediate = {
# Kill a pop
random_list = {
you start seeing a number followed by
= {
if = {
that number is a %, at the end of
immediate = {
# Kill a pop
random_list = {
and before the start of
# Ruin a building
random_list = {
you see a number followed by
94 = {
}
}
that number is the chance of nothing happening for the kill pop roll
also is it 15% for full ? in my file it adds up to 6%, but i am using a pirated copy of it and went from vanilla straight to 1.3 then 1.3.2, i wonder if doing that didnt update this file ?

I wonder how much of a giant slap in the face it wouldn't been if Sand of Kharak came first and have the fanbase growing familiar with this planet.

i forgot to add how it works out the % for each stance
first number is all 3 combined, you edit that and set the light bombardment + first number for the other 2 types
2nd number is 2nd type of bombardment and full, you edit that and set the final number for the 2nd type of bombardment ( they add for the final % for that type ) and the 2nd number for full
3rd number affects for full bombardment, once you set that you add it with the other 3 numbers and get the final % for full bombardment to kill a pop
the final number that is before ruin building is the left over % for not killing a pop
if you want 30% for full you can go something like this
1 first number ( 1% for lightest bombardment to kill a pop )
9 for 2nd number ( 1% for lightest, 10% for 2nd tier of bombardment )
20 for 3rd number ( 1% for lightest, 10% for 2nd tier, 30% for full )
and 70 for final number of nothing happening
