Like you said, it is Haru's different character from the norm that makes him so dull. He's reminding me of Taiki a lot: no obvious flaws and only had one stage of development (in the opening episode nonetheless) but there's nothing else that appears open for development, even at this early stage.

I promised myself to stop collecting TCGs because I collect so much already, but now I'm starting to regret my decision. I just got an order confirmation for my Hackmon though, and Gatchmon, Dogatchmon and Dokamon are in the mail.

I was going to buy a G.E.M. statue Koushiro and Mimi but they were about twice more expensive than their retail price. Why do those statues always have to be P Bandai? If I miss out I end up getting fucked or never finding them.

Hackmon was always an anniversary Digimon, which is why he showed up in the PSP Adventure game, all the games that came out since including mobile games, tons of lore was released relating to him, some merchandise with the adventure cast, and Digimon Tri. I had no idea Dracomon was an Anniversary Digimon. I don't think it was for Anniversary reasons but he got that awesome role in Cyber Sleuth and he'll always appear in most things because he's a Royal Knight.

Re:Digitize Decode had X Antibody Digimon because it was the anniversary of the X Antibodies. There were hoodies, tshirts, and rubber desk mats for the X Antibodies around the same time too, with Gaioumon and Dukemon. Gaioumon got some nice art from Kenji Watanabe in the 15th Anniversary card set. (Which is about 600 fucking dollars now why didn't I buy it back then!?)

As mediocre as digimon games ended up being with certain frequency, at least they tried to toy with the formula. A practice debatable, but at least I give them a B for effort.

As for pokemon, I honestly can't see why those dull games sell so much. I used to be into pokemon, played generation 1, was actually interested in the game, played generation 2, okay same thing but with enough improvements and the surprise (for first gamers) of having the first region as endgame bonus content, and then I hit the gen 3 and was fucking tired of catching'em all again and only played it because my other friends also played it

In retrospective, i'm surprised I lasted through three generations before dropping the game. I guess picking a pokemon game at random might be fun and interesting for somebody who picks the series per first time, but it makes my brain melt to wonder why the fuck there's people who has been following it since the red/gree/blue days and doesn't get tired of the same formula always and unlike true RPG games, the plot is usually braindead bad and cliche, so there's not even the same grace of catching people due the story

It's not about likes or dislikes, i'm just surprised people can still like it after years of the same game as I did use to like pokemon long ago.

It would be the same as if final fantasy used always the same game mechanics, took four games to divide physical and magical attacks into separate stats and most games only added minigames like fishing or card games and the gameplay were mostly the same thing.

I would say that at their worst, they are mediocre and at their best they are memorable enough to to remain in your memory for years.
