For anyone not up to date: The current update 1.157 STABLE has the same issue introduced when 1.157 DEV came out. The loading in of any player results in a server process shutdown. The logs do not show any reason as to why, neither basic nor extended. At the same time, 1.163 DEV has the issue, just as did 1.159, and so on.

As a result, the Warbros Spengies server is currently 100% out of commission, with no chance of recovery until Keen pushes an update to either DEV or STABLE that fixes this issue. The problem has been reported, but sparked no response or reaction. Attempts to dissect this further with Keen employee rexxar and the discord crowd of keendrones also resulted in "lol dunno".

This issue persists with an empty world, without mods, voxels and no player7faction data, so we can't even start fresh.

And thus, with heavy heart, I bid you guys farewell. I tried. I can't fix what's locked behind sealed books of arcane incompetency.

Unless you have a serious hard-on for old anime, 2199 is usually accepted as the better version to watch nowadays. They were careful with how they used CG (for ships only) so the battles look great, and they clear up most of the stranger plotholes from the original.
Also from what I just read of the film plot it's a bit less hectic (which is pretty normal with series/film adaptiations).

Rails, some neat logic blocks, shipyards that allow for creative mode style designing in survival, a new chunk loading system that seems to help with performance a fair bit, probably some other stuff but that's all I can immediately think of. Oh they added a cutting torch, ignores shields, we boarding parties now. oh and teleporters.

None that I've seen, I am hoping that they're going to try and atleast do a round hype-gen for the update to breath some much needed life into it, I recently started playing again just knocking crap together in creative, probably will wait for the big update before even looking for a serb.

Game still has it's own little clangs, last time (re:January) i used the shipyard they just ate my ship twice, but i think people are using them successfully now.

Wow.. what the fuck happened here?! They've barely added anything other than a few big cosmetic pieces and a few gimmicky weapons. Blocks with SMGs now have legs instead of wheels, that seems to be all they have to show for the devtime..
Where are the actual meat-and-potatoes type blocks such as 2x1 ramps/curves? (a more gradient angle using two blocks, one fatter, one the tip, etc. y'know). Where are good cosmetic blocks like exhaust pipes or buttons or wiring or various other greebles?

FtD take in less money (20 a head iirc as opposed to CRATEZ and MEMBERSHIPZ) and have piped out more engineering content with beter gameplay and even better multiplayer. What gives? Can somebody give me an autopsy of this thing, what went wrong?

gravity direction is set by clicking on a gravity block, orientation of the block chooses your 'up/down' so you could have fun with that. I think you can activate them with trigger areas, so walking around a cylinder should work, probably a little jarring though.

Also capture&holding can be facilitated by a structure that can be captured, as well as bombed to hell if it lacks defense. If only we could make part of it indestructible an "anchor" with plenty of repair drones and swiftly regenerating.

One little nuance about it is that everything has to be in play, so its basically as small as it can be but the bases are probably 5000+m in between the bases or more, so super long range missiles might be viable.

I further miniaturized the mini gunbote into a micro gunbote and added flares it's punches pretty well above it's weight now despite losing a turret.

top speed is about 22m/s level 4 shields, anti-shield frag ac. 6666 resources, good fuel efficiency.

Well, this looks like SPengies and Galactic Junk League had a baby who was born with a better build engine that let you make any shape you wanted by dragging vertexes instead of placing voxels... But that doesn't look anything like robocraft as a game where you build mechs and airplanes and tanks and stuff and fight them. We dicked around with hardcoded tanks and they work really well, even with small maps. Considering we can make the maps fuckmassive and filled with what the fuck ever, we can do some neat stuff.

It is, as I estimated, a really cool SpEngies and GJL mashup with an extremely good build mode (but that's all still not what I'm looking for). That's the thing, you hop on a server, say, warbros or what the fuck ever and everything is exactly as you expect with a full lobby system where you can walk about and challenge other players and have the whole matchmaking experiance.

We do, however, think progression through grind is pointless cancerous fluff and should be abolished. Progression using other mechanics linked to entire technology trees are another matter, but nothing so awful as paying for every part. What we're going to do will be decided when we get there. Don't know where you think vehicle types won't be a thing, those are decided by the player. Things with tracks are probably tanks, for example.

You're looking for World of Robocraft without the jewry, and you're going to be looking a very long time.

I'd really not even mind their moneygrabbling if it actually had a good build mode and you could make interesting things that weren't just "bricks with SMGs and legs". Like, voxels work in theory but you need _at_least_ 2x1 or even 2x2 ramps and curves in my imo (even better if they come in base and wedge style segments).

I just started making rocket parts for a lunch in factorio and I'm having a problem keeping my huge smelter belt well fed. Problem is Iron spots get depleted relatively fast so it feels like building train outposts just for them would suck quite a lot of dick. Is this normal in default settings? Should I just restart with richer iron spots? I still have most of my starting copper spot but in the meantime I've raped nearly 3 iron spots. I would've loved to automate everything and try to get my first "1 launch per minute" but it's already looking so tedious to manage the iron when I'm not even at the production level I'd need for one satellite per minute.

The planned release date of 0.15
There are many things we want to have finished for 0.15, so the estimate isn't precise. The plan is to have approximately 3 months to implement all the planned changes, so it could be expected around february 2017.

The optimisations
The decoratives optimisations that were mentioned in the fff-157[www.factorio.com] are finished and working well. Not only the save file has been reduced (46Mb to 25 Mb on my map), but the memory footprint and overall performance is better. The reason of the performance improvement is, that once decorative isn't regular entity, it doesn't need to be iterated over when doing area based entity search (typically for collision checks) and also the memory fragmentation is not that bad.

Rseding is doing a lot of small optimisations for 0.15. Each of them is usually not that big, but the overall gain starts to be noticeable. We will cover them in more details in the next fff, but I expect that the 0.15 will provide a big performance boost.

Nuclear power
We created the basic specification of the nuclear power this week, so we can start working on it.

The plan is to implement the nuclear power in a way, that it is almost always more efficient to make bigger and more complex setup compared to just copy pasting the "standard nuclear power blueprint" over and over. This is the list of changes and additions we are planning.

That's what I find joy in: blazing speed and overwhelming firepower.

Jet stabilizers are useless on anything but aircraft, the issue is that the jets are on the bottom of the tank. This creates a torque that tries to lift the opposite side of the tank; if you only fired jets on the inside of the turn you'd probably be fine, but the outside jets on the front half combine with the high centre of gravity to create that wacky steering.

Well first of all, not /egg/.
Secondly, you don't really need trains now. Maybe later when your city is very spread out. You can put a train station anywhere for out-of-city commune. Also, expand. Look at those 3 bars at the bottom; you want to keep them empty at all times. You might also want to raise your happiness and/or health services since your pop is going down. Just slap some parks and/ or hospitals around. If you want to make a new road, if cuts through some buildings, so be it. The happiness decrease is not that much. Later on, metro and bike lines are GOTY for decreasing inner city traffic, and for outbound, making highway>roundabout>city connections everywhere solves that problem.

Robocrafts matchmaking is non-existant. It will literally just grab ANYBODY it can to fill up matches.

I can often play at the highest tier, and see tiny little guys a quarter of my seize end up in the match that are obviously new players that I can shit stomp in 3 seconds. I feel bad because I know they are pissed off.

The weapon balance is also totally fucked. Bigger guns = better. The smaller versions of weapons are garbage. Theres no reason for them to even exist.

The small SMG/plasma/rail are especially worthless, and those are the only guns new players have access to. So they get sent into matches with piss weak guns that just tickle people.

Your shields are angled incorrectly. The ideal angle is whatever creates the most obtuse angle from an incoming shell, yours are set up to create a 90 degree angle on most incoming shells. you want them to be angled slightly down and placed to cover most of the front as well as a few meters above it, or angled flat above the armor to bounce low incoming shells.

That front mantlet is a shell trap. Everything it bounces will be into the top of the hull.

Change the front mantlet shield to be more like the front slope, or eliminate it and put a flat roof shield instead. Side shields should be at angles forward/backwards instead of up/down, assuming the turret rotates so that you can rotate to better deflect incoming shells if needed. The way they're set up now they'll just bounce shells into the seam between the turret and the tank body.

The front shields are good. You can angle them a little more if you can make them taller, you don't need them to cover the very bottom of the tank.

There's none that would fit on that bladed nose without looking like it's just hovering in midair. ~A.E.S.T.H.E.T.I.C~ is also a consideration. The very point of the blade is 8 blocks deep KCA armor. Everything foreword of the front wheels is a solid block of armor.

I'm not sure on the numbers anymore, it's been a while, but I believe if you alternate metal with a layer of wood you'll get better resistance vs HEAT projectiles. I seem to remember there was some kind of structural integrity stat that checked for alternating layers of armor and gave an armor bonus as a result.

They were tons of fun to build and use but removed them from the game entirely because they said it was too much for potato computers to handle, and they "didnt see Megabots having a place in Robocrafts style of gameplay planned in the future."

But then after getting rid of them they kept adding giant fucking weapons to the game like missiles, gattling guns, shotguns, flak, that were obviously made huge so they could specifically fit on megabots.

Well admittedly it is far from realistic, but Empyrion doesn't focus on realism at all compared to other games of its ilk, and I think it's better in a MP survival based game.

The exploding happens if a structure like this isn't very open, more of one compact chunk, not sure why but its fun.
Structural integrity is mostly interesting when building though, I usually go for towers or runways sticking off mountains, so they need large columns holding them up. Integrity doesn't change if something heavy lands on it, which is probably for the best imo.

Very true, but I designed the Omnifactory around the need I had at the time: aiding me in performing a clean sweep of my entire factory. and starting a newer, better design from whole cloth. My factory up to that point was the definition of spaghetti and was built around the mantra of "It works, move on". I had literally built myself into a corner and I needed to change too much to get everything functional. With blueprints, drones, and logistics to aid me, re building from scratch would be easier and cleaner than attempting to fix the monstrosity I was replacing.

Guy, who reinstalled Robocraft and had 41 level.

Actually now, I have fun. It started when I decided to make melee bot, because I thought that i most games meele is strong. I was right.

This is current version of my Speedo Slico, all-or-nothing fragile (about 60k HP) speedster with epic slicer and "Penetrator" railgun, so I could engage air bots.
If it drives into something and doesn't fall out, then Speedo wrecks it's shit, once I got 19 kills on team deathmatch.
Pretty shit at Elimination matches as it's fragile and maps are large.

So far i've managed to have terrain, a car, the camera fixed behind the car, having the car move around using wasd and having physics.

I still need to know how to make proper racetracks (i have a some ideas on that, the problem will be making them how i want), making naval, air, and maybe space races (and another kind of race i have in mind, but i need to learn how to play with drills), and that's only for the racing part.

I still need to learn and implement the build your vehicle part and all that.
I don't want to give too much details on how i'd like the game to be when it's finished because i don't know if i'll be able to finish it, but i'll try my best.

And there is Scorpion, it's bulky size was a desperate measure to get some survivability, but after some good matches with Speedo, I got some electro shields for it, so i decided to slap some on it and add "Decimator" railgun.
It's 1,050k HP and barries make it a tanky enough bot to survive badly aimed missile barrage.
Proto Seeker allowed dishing out consistent damage, getting me at least silver crates on TD matches, while railgun helps against far targets, including fliers.
And I dig it's junk yard style, being honest.

Built myself a tank destroyer. Faster than the MBT and it packs a more powerful 300mm gun which can fire APFSDS, HEAT, or AP capped frag. In exchange for speed and a more powerful gun it's got shit for armor, the boxy armor packs on the sides are ERA encased in thin hardened armor plates. I added them after testing the TD's 300mm gun on the MBT firing HEAT, while shields blocked most of the shells a lucky hit could cut almost through and through from the side.

First normal sized tank I've managed to build, this version with ATGMs is 8350, twice as expensive as say a Tiger IIs but when I pitted two of my tanks against four Tiger II's they won without taking any hits. The only damage a Tiger managed to cause was inflicted when the wreckage of a destroyed Tiger became lodged in the drive wheels of one of my tanks.
