Cleric buffs need a buff. Like faster cast time or a longer duration. Or at least a spell to buy time to cast more spells. There's pretty much no reason to fight as one in pvp unless you're just flinging impossible to hit lightning bolts.

pyromancy shouldn't have stat based scaling just fixed damage like dark souls. power through versatility and ubiquity

dark sorceries, miracles, and pyromancies should go back to be considered hexes, and have faith/int scaling not unlike pyro works now

greatweapons can and will never be truly balanced

greatshield turtling is a perfectly viable and fun way to play the game, and to fight against

pure magic is really fucking stupid and the people that play this way are boring to fight against and are disatisfying to deaft; all magic is designed to support your melee capabilities, not the other way around.

bows should be far more effective than they are now, with support magic available for it. think of this like the ranged alternative to melee, with magic always taking a supportive role, rather than the dominant role. greatbows serving as the ranged greatweapon equivalent, sacrificing speed for power.

Guys, what if the second DLC isn't a single area, but rather multiple smaller areas added to the base game that increase the branching paths possible?

Only acceptable if it's definetely weaker than all other spells. The issue in 1 was that dex got, for little investment, one of the best spells in the game that topped most of what casters with actual investments did. I prefer how it is now because pyros have a reason to hit hard.

Hexes were a pointless new type. Just make them not scale how they are now and be like full int/fth, give casters a secondary damage type they need.

I was mainly worried about the possibility of getting hit with a duel charm (have to play around them every time someone has them basically), it only lasting for a period of time (use lingering dragoncrest ring for that, but it takes up a ring slot), and split damage (280/95 with resin vs. 230/236 split damage)

I'll look into mournes, otherwise I figure silver knight or maybe exile are the best.

With a stacked magic buff it probably gets good damage, but I'd prefer resins so I get basically 5 free buffs instead of wasting FP and putting myself on a time limit to kill before the buff runs out. Plus unless you're a SL 200 everything in one, you'll probably have bad damage unless the buff is on at all times. Wish they would just bring back # of casts per spell. Everything feels like such a waste when it comes to choosing magic over pumping physical stats.

Aldrich's fight was pretty phoned in, because originally they wanted to have a goo boss with liquid physics. This is apparently something Miyazaki has wanted to do ever since Demon Souls), and he thought they'd be able to do it by now, only to discover that that wasn't the case. So, they had to come up with a replacement boss, and we got the Gwyndolin worm. Maybe this happened so late in the development process they didn't have time to make Aldrich a cinematic.

So I'm hearing mixed opinions regarding dark magic, People are saying that the Izalith staff is the best one but that it's not worth going 40/40 due to only a 50-70 damage increase.

Would using the archdaecon staff be more viable for this? I understand a certain ammount of int is required for dark sorcerys but the wiki is stating that it has the highest spellbuff with 60 faith?
