Just beat Rorona Plus, took 37 hours and I managed to get the true ending on my first try! Honestly surprised, I thought it would have included getting certain events with all characters, I only used Cordelia and Iksel in battle. Really glad that the post-credits choice list for endings exists, makes replaying the game for other endings way more comfortable to think about. Also, all those costumes near the end, all those awesome ending CGs, that ending movie... man, it's a cruel injustice this game didn't get a physical release like the PS3 version. This game was so brilliant it would have deserved it. This was so close to perfect 5/5, but I'd rate it 4,8/5. Some technical hiccup nitpicks and the like are only worth two decimals, but still worth noting.

I love it when things suddenly start to get better. I love this feeling of finishing a near 40-hour JRPG and being this comfortably happy I could do it. So glad I played this game.

Oh, I didn't know there were character-specific flavors to it. I guess I got the generic one with Esty, since I had maxed the popularity percentage and I only missed the last request from Esty. I think I had Iksel at 66 friendship, and it was the highest that I could see anywhere. Didn't think about how completing quests affected the rating with Esty.

Yep, I read about some of the post-game stuff from the original website, and it seems I'd best still get Rorona before going there. I played Totori as my first Atelier, and it was great to go from that experience to Rorona Plus. So many improvements.

As far as minigames go I think Rune Factory Oceans/Tides of Destiny and Zelda games are good. I'd even say Animal Crossing New Leaf just because of the variety of things to catch and the specific conditions under which only some special fish can be caught.

There were a couple straight up fishing games on the Wii that were nice. Really I can only speak for Fishing Resort, though there were a couple other ones that looked nice, not sure if they were localized though.

I've only played the first DS one but I was really surprised back then by how much of a damn solid RPG it was (except for the fact it had one of the absolute worst questing systems, but that's a single con in a sea of pros). If these sequels are as good as the first one then I can safely say 7th Dragon has overtaken (or at least be on par with) Shining and Phantasy Star as some of SEGA's finest RPG series.

Next up on my import list are Valkyria Chronicles 2, 3, and Azure Revolution.

That one in particular is annoying since most interventions tend to be just one fight but that one threw me a curveball by also having me fight an Ultima Weapon (played straight, no taking breaks like Supraultima) immediately afterwards so I was caught with my pants down and HP/AP depleted.
