Rune can only reliably kill pure elana which you don't see as much in this area. Storm runs Mainyu which can fuck them extremely hard and Seraph wins roughly just as fast as them so it's a crapshoot.

I see PtP just as much as I see midrange at AA2.

petrification is kind of an odd choice for dshift desu. I've only seen it used a couple of times against me fighting dshift and control sword, so I have plenty of targets they would use it on if they packed it like frontguard. I can see why since it's not very good against aggro and they already beat decks like mine or elana anyway.

Like I said it depends on your rank. In AA-Master there's less hard aggro like bats and banners, so petrification becomes a better choice when you start running into shit like Seraph, Elana, Frontguard, etc. Having one or two can be good and some decklists do tech it in now as a counter to amulets.

When does ranked actually get hard?

I'm not very good at card games typically but I'm having no issues progressing

Any tips would be appreciated. I'm thinking the card I will craft is an Olivia. I also have a Lucifer in my collection so I've been considering swapping him in as well. I think the card I would remove would be a Leonidas maybe.

With decks running two angelic barrage, two-three of their class specific removal, and then three dance of deaths, all these wards don't really stall much. I can't win against Storm Haven since three Garudas, cudgels, scripture, etc... means I take tons of damage and removal that I can't do anything against.

Because of that I feel like a lot of the heal cards I am running are completely useless. It reminds me of Hearthstone with how much of a powercreep aggro and control have to have. I hope we never get to the point of heal + 6 or Reno nonsense, but as it stands what I've got feels weak so I think Lucifer might work well for me.

I really like Leonidas as a card, but I find he mostly just sits in my hand even in the end game. I usually have other cards that can be more useful and if I can put him down it almost always means I would have won anyway.

I've almost exclusively played control sword post DE from A0 to AA2 so far

good matchups: midrange forest, storm haven, pure elana haven, aggro blood, banner

bad matchups: ptp forest, seraph haven, dshift

i think it's a good laddering deck, especially pre-AA.

both control and midrange sword are very expensive to play at full capacity, though the minimum required for midrange sword is much lower. my control deck runs about 40k vials.

Advice for you anon: If you don't draft a late game wincon like Satan, Leonidas, Polyroar, Olivia, etc you must play an aggressive game. Don't try to eke out small amounts of value at the cost of potentially ending the game faster or your opponent might just drop one of those game winners on you and you get fucked.

Of course, don't go full retard and just face even when a good trade is sitting in front of you, but you should be playing aggressive game always unless you have wincons drafted.

Yeah this is what annoys me the most. The extra evolve is basically worth an extra card considering it lets you trade up for free. So going second basically draws you ANOTHER card. Not to mention that when your hand is so small, that extra card could be the difference between curving and not curving.

I don't really think they should make such a drastic change. Remember that 1st vs 2nd was pretty balanced pre DE outside of T2, and even now the difference isn't ridiculous like before they added the 2nd draw for the person going 2nd.

Since DE is what disrupted the balance, it's more the cards they added that are inherently better going second (Tia, Whole-Souled Swing, etc) rather than some problem with the mechanics at their core.

So, since daily missions are tied to ranked, doesn't that mean you are encouraged to not play ranked outside daily missions? If you get really high with a good deck and then the daily mission asks you to win in ranked with a class you don't have good cards for or you are not as experienced with etc, isn't that much harder? As someone who plays memedecks all the time, I feel like I've hit the ceiling at A1. Early A0 is still quite winnable, but now I am not able to win more than about 50% of matches since optimized decks can still beat you with a couple of misplays.

here's the real answer: it depends on what deck you're facing. Nothing is better than Playful Necro against Forest for example. Against DShift, Floral is obviously the best since it puts the biggest board out and there's rarely two targets to hit anyway. Cudgel shits on shadow. Elven Princess Mage can't exactly be compared to the rest since she can both be a slightly weaker floral and a combo enabler. Siegfried is useful without an evolve.
