It's been a while since I played PoR and RD. I'm at Chapter 24 of PoR right now and I seem to remember that characters that get to 20/20 and have certain stats maxed get bonuses in RD. How easy is it to grind my units to 20/20? I'm using about 13 units so I'm pretty sure I won't manage it. That said, I've got about 5000 BEXP saved up.
Who should I use it on? Ike is a given. I like Jill, but Haar is so god-tier in RD I might just give up on maxing her.
I'm using Ike, Soren, Jill, Oscar, Kieran, Nephenee, Brom, Ilyana, Zihark, Marcia and Mist.
I think I'll have to focus on 5 or 6 of them to get them to 20/20 with some maxed stats. Who should I focus on?
Keep in mind I have a lot of BEXP and a lot of saved stat items like Energy Drops and Dracoshields and the like.

I definitely want to give Neph the bonuses. She's a goddamn beast. Ike as well. Not sure about Oscar. He's always hit or miss and he's kind of mediocre in my current PoR playthrough. Then again, he might be useful in RD.

I sort of forgot most of the availability of the units in RD. Does Zihark even get any use or should I forget about him and focus on Edward in RD? And how's Mist in RD again? She's not that useful in PoR at the moment because of her terrible STR and the lack of Sonic Swords.
I want the special Soren dialogue though, so I maxed Ike and Soren's support, so I guess I'll have to max Soren in PoR and use him in RD.
Any other suggestions are welcome, I've got enough BEXP and stat boosters to boost a different character I might have neglected in my current PoR playthrough.

First set came out last summer and that's right when Fates came out so I can't blame them for milking the newest game. The only fault is how fucking long it's taking for Magvel the game with one of the smallest casts. Just one of the Awakening/Fates revisits could have been enough to at least get all the important characters out of the way.

That's because in set 2, there were 3 Corrins for each route. Cost 1, Cost 2 on a dragonstone, finally a Cost 5. Then in Set 3 gave you reversed nations of each gender because revelations or something.
Finally FemCorrin got more promos because waifu.

Finally each character had respective ST and Promos. cards, representing cost 3 and 4 of each gender/nation. The kicker is that to build a deck with Corn as your lord you need at least 11 cards, and you need about 4 times the best ones.

Odin is only useful if you're using him to get his daughter, and her map full of useful tomes. Nyx is close to as bad without either of those points to work with.

Shura is optional, but comes with a Killer bow and decent bases and reclass options. Both him and the boots are optional though, so neither should even be factored into the ratings(similar to Mozu).

Felicia 1 has been overrated since the beginning, same with Jakob 1. They do have fast leveling on their side for the sake of skill acquisition, but realistically Felicia is never leaving Maid except to reclass to Strategist, which makes her even flimsier than usual, in place of better range at the cost of some debuff options. Jakob wants to reclass early so he can use skills to make up for his decidedly average stats, and needs to build weapon ranks early to make it worthwhile.

Silas always felt dead center to me, he has the potential to be great, but bad luck with growths risks him being resigned to mediocrity, something Xander doesn't have to deal with. Also Xander can Wyvern if you get tired of using his 1-2 range sword for some reason.

Laslow has nothing useful going for him, Benny can at least help people tank, and if you promote him early enough(possible immediately), he can grab Wary Fighter and cancel out his speed issues.

Gunter's usefulness hinges entirely on whether you want to use him as Kamui's backpack or a Wyvern ferry(not that these are mutually exclusive, but you're limited to the latter if you say no to the first).

Effie and Arthur are passable together, but their other options are limited. Peri isn't that great without assistance, still I wouldn't say she's worse than those two since Arthur needs to reclass if he wants Cavalier, and Effie is going to need help until she can promote(even if you reclass her to something faster like Cavalier or Archer).

I probably put more thought into this shit than those redditors, and STILL disagree with about half of those choices.

Corrin can be minmaxed to fit ANY role and has the widest number of class options in the game, so between that utility and variance that should be a given, if not grounds for outright removal from the list.

Azura is the refresher by default, and provides the second greatest utility in the game if kept in that role. Some strats revolve around her ability to refresh a unit that rescued another unit, and her song is the best way to make use of those self rally skills a few units have(including Pieri's).

Her mods make her suited to reclass into any physical specialist role(favoring Sniper and Ninja Master for their ranged options), if you're willing to gimp yourself that way.
