They were niche in DaS2 because there were extremely few reasons to ever use them aside from gimmicky hybrid builds, but now that we have items like Archdeacon's Greatstaff, Crystal Chime and Man-Grub stuff they'd have a real opportunity to shine. Your speak against your own argument, spices in DaS3 would bring more diversity to magic builds, not reduce it.

SL90 is the ideal soul range meta, because quality can barely exist at that range, there is plenty of dedicated sharp/heavy weapons, can go caster and still be sort of viable, and there are even some hybrid weapons. And it's the ideal range for lategame invasions.
120 is just an arbitrary number artificially enforced by metafags of the old, that got carried over to DaS3 for no legit reason at all.

Once you learn Sillyman is parriable there's no point considering him a boss any longer, just like Gwyn and NK is ridiculously slow

Not that guy but I beat NK on my literal first try, and DaS3 is my first souls game.

Granted, I avoided parrying like the plague and felt like shields in PvE were for babbies so I got gud at rolling through the rest of my playthrough which is the main reason why I beat him the first time. I could also tell that the timing for a lot of attacks was given by sound queues, and I'm a musician with a very keen ear so I would listen and react to when I had to roll each attack. After that it was mainly roll 2-3 times, hit him once, roll 2-3 times, hit him once, wash rinse repeat. Had like 5 estus left at the end of it, wasn't even that bad as long as you were good at rolling and played cautiously. I used a 2H'd long spear, so I wasn't even a SS fag.

When he slams the bucket down 4x he usually does the attack where he shuffles across the ground to you, try making him shuffle into a wall, roll past him and you can usually get 4/5 attacks in, then roll away.

Keep an eye on Friede and run straight to her when she starts the heal, hit once and roll back.

Once you get the hang of that the phase is easy.

Yes, summoning is a crutch. You shouldn't ever summon your first time around, because the optimal way to enjoy dark souls is to never summon at all, ever, on your first anything. The only exception are PVP-related summons. To truly say that you've beaten Sister Friede, I'm afraid you have to re-do the fight again but this time without summons.

I don't equip anything else when I fight human enemies really, I like using all kinds of weapons but mostly either heavy strength weapons or medium weapons like hammers and straight swords.

A reactive player is one that always waits for the opponent to do something first so he can safely score a hit during recovery frames.
An aggressive player is one that will chase the other down and attack first, usually gets stomped by reactive players.

I'm just saying I'm guilty of not using the full moveset sometimes too, but I always pull out the LK or BK shield if I'm faced with a parry fisher while feigning running attacks all day. And if they sit there never parrying I'll poke them until they do so I can hornet turtlepoke backstab them. There's literally no downside because I can roll slow af kicks pretty easily and tank a couple of R1's into my shield equally as easily before rolling back and doing it again.

I've started collecting webms for my "Backstab King" folder for this very reason, just because it happens so fucking often that I've become an expert at doing it.

You cannot claim to have beaten a boss when you summoned and you cannot claim to have completed the game if you summoned at all. First play through is always done solo, no exceptions.

I feel like the challenge area bosses in the DaS2 DLCs were made for them. 3 dudes for the first boss, the second tiger pops earlier for the third boss, and even Blue Smelter has some pretty wide swings and increased speed to deal more with the group.

Depends what you mean by counterbs, if you mean strafing to my back when my guard is up I'm pretty sure you can only do that with greatshields, not medium shields. Honestly I was testing out the LK shield for awhile because of the potential to parry, but I learned the hard way just how bad the parry frames are on it so I have since switched back to the BK shield instead.
