you cannot compare thermite's ability to blackbeard's. all the maps in the game are designed with ten reinforcements in mind, with the attackers being able to breach two of them. you can predict and play around that.

basegame maps are clearly not designed for blackbeard. an actually decent player who knows when to lock down or to shuffle angles is unbeatable. he will always be the last to die, and what's to say that his team isn't competent as well?

even the newer maps aren't designed for blackbeard. he and his ability have no place in the game, just like how tachanka has no place in this game.

What would a map "designed with BB in mind" look like to you? Just curious, because I keep seeing people making this point but I don't understand what alternative they are alluding to. There are leaked images from before elease that show BB was already a working concept back then, so any design considerations must have included him as well as any of the other attackers they had planned up until that point.

I could say the same thing for an actually decent defender on defense, that knows how to counter the BB.

You keep saying that his ability has no place in the game, but honestly I feel like it adds a very much needed deterrent for the defending team. Suddenly having an op that you can't just apply the same peek one tap mentality to makes him feel threating and makes the game more interesting in defense.

There is no real counter for Bb, while all defenders still die to a headshot, If you're getting peeked and die as an attacker, you need to play better angles or to use the outside to your advantage. Or just git gud, the counterplay to getting outaimed is aim better.

Of course you're welcome, anybody is.
I'd advice against playing ranked until you have more hours under your belt though. You unlock the mode at level 20, but you'll get curbstomped. You need to gain basic map knowledge and gamesense before you jump into ranked, and I'd argue you only really get that until you're at least level 40 or 50.

For now just play casual on the TS and with yourself, folks will be more than glad to show you the ropes and help out

Pretty much Favela fucks BB hard. That is about it.

The "real" way to have balanced BB in the past is to add "recoil" to his shield when it absorbs hits. It's attached to his gun, it would make sense his aim wouldn't remain 100% steady. It would grant him essentially first shot immunity, without him being the window turret that he is. He can peek and not get domed immediately, but a defender that fires and lands hits on the shield first has a better chance of getting away.

Then find some balance between the shield health (old health of 800 was too high, the 150 health with two shields seems good) and bam, balanced BB.

The interesting thing is BB can be super terrifying INDOORS because he can basically use fucking anything he wants as cover, of which there is PLENTY.

Why do some people kill you at the start of the match? I've had it happen 4 times in 5 matches. One of those times it was an accident (start of the match where you might pull your trigger and I spawned in head first right as he shot). I'll usually play quiet until there is an assault on the room. I'm surprised mostly how Fuze isn't really used anymore once he's not the first one you buy. I think he's pretty underrated. There's just no winning a peeking contest between a controller and a shitty mouse, even if it's a shitty mouse. It's physically impossible to aim that precisely with joysticks when you can just use the mouse as an extension of your eye and arm.

Alternative: don't contest angles, and try to get the element of surprise on them / holding close angles with shotguns. But if they're any good at the game, that'll help them against that.

If they played by the same rule multi matches go (they can't down the hostage or they lose) it would be fine, but since they can outright kill the hostage, it sucks.

It also annoys me in Lone Wolf Bomb how you have to defuse two times and survive two hordes, but that one's way easier because you can cheese more easily.

I think it's also bullshit how they allow the AI in Hostage to go wait for you at the finish line instead of them chasing you when you grab the hostage. or in any other game mode how terrorists spawn literally outside of the building where there are cops watching (????)

Have you tried adjusting your DPI and in-game sensitivity to something that suits you?

I have mine set up so that I have my mouse's highest native DPI (I think it's like 4000 or 5000, thankfully it has a button that lets me switch between that for games and a more normal 1000 for desktop use) and low in-game sens, so that it takes me about 14 inches on my mouse pad to do a full 360 turn - so naturally it's two 180 turns at 7 inches when it's at the center. And roughly a complete 180 turn when ADSing at 14 inches.

It helps to find a setting you like and get used to it so you develop muscle memory, and can instantly snap to a pixel that might be someone's head without even thinking about it

As for Civ 6, it's a good vanilla release of a Civ game (specially compared to vanilla V), and it's a solid foundation, but as it stands it needs HEAVY patching and rebalancing (Sumeria and Scythia are OP as fuck right now), fixing exploits (like being able to chop outside of borders), and the AI needs to be better. Right now it's as if the Civ 6 AI was only playtested in Ancient and Classical eras. After that it just breaks down. I pirated it, played a few games to judge it, had fun but I will hold off my purchase until they start releasing the patches.

I've been getting my 4X kicks with Stellaris though. That 1.3.1 update sure was pretty cash.
