Yes to both. Sonic 2 was the first game on a non-Nintendo platform that I played and it made my 4-year old self realize that there's more to video games than only Nintendo. The game overall amazed me. I hadn't really seen anything else like it at the time.

The speed, the colorful visuals, the music, the overall presentation, and also the fact that you had a sidekick following you the entire time, which you could control with a second controller. I think this was the first time I saw some sort of co-op mode in any game.

Also I thought the ability to lock-on a second cartridge on top of the Sonic & Knuckles one and then being able to actually play as Knuckles in S3 was rad as fuck.

Later on, I bought Mega Collection and Gems Collection, both giving me a new perspective on the franchise. Then I started using YouTube a few years later and discovered the cartoons, though I only really watched AoStH and a bit of X. As for the comics, I read the first 30 issues of StC at the start of Summer 2013 and roughly the first 15 or so issues of Archie in late 2014.

I feel that I've neglected myself when it comes to this franchise in recent years and I'll be changing that soon. Browsing here is only the beginning. I've been a Doomfag more than anything else recently but I think I can easily love both franchises at the same time.

The snowboarding background is the rest of Angel Islands mountain range. The rest of Act 1 is inside the mountain. Act 2 is chunks of the ice and glacier falling off into the ocean (since at the time, Angel Island had fallen) and you're on the shorelines.

This. Sonic and every other characters are all written by different writers throughout the games. While we can choose which portrayal/interpretation is a better fit, it doesn't mean that's how the characters should be. If anything, it doesn't matter which interpretations are better as long as they still act like themselves. The only thing I could consider when a character is acting OOC is when they do something that contradict their character.

Spent the day sorting out my apartment and cleaning up and cooking for the week ahead. Now I won't have to spend any time cooking each day, just reheating premade batched meals. It seems counter intuitive to spend a bunch of my weekend cooking, but it actually buys me more time through the week on days where I need to just get home from work and relax and not worry about getting shit ready. Plus eating well keeps my spirits up through the week so I don't fall into one of those spirals of eating badly and feeling like shit and being so run down I waste my weekend 'decompressing'.

To be honest, my critique is mostly with Amy & Shadow's placement in the image. IMO, Amy would fit with Tails in Lawful Good, & someone like Rouge would make more sense in Chaotic Neutral. Not sure who would fit as Lawful Evil, tho.
